Before he went offgrid, he actually said if somethig were to happen to him, there were people to blame who werr trying to shut him down. People kept saying he waz crazy or mentally ill because he had a temper or and was too honest or didnt give a damn about what society wanted him to do. That's the whole reason he created the company. Pfft. I really dont believe it was a suicide.

Estée Lauder and Nicole kilner ( Brandon so called friend , who back stabbed him for his job) didn't help- they just took over his company despite him being a majority share holder. Which is why Estée Lauder and now the ordinary are being boycotted. Let's not forget that Estée Lauder still test on animals

This all happened to save the company because he was mentally unwell. He closed all stores at one point and a ton of other stuff, people's jobs and pay weren't stable at all. It's really sad that more people are not talking about him and his contributions to the skincare business community. I feel like he gave too much of himself, he seemed to really care in the early years. Then the stress of it all fractured his mental health, he kept trying to push forward. In hindsight he should have pulled back and took care of himself. People that are empathetic are highly susceptible to mental health issues. The piles of garbage he was posting was to bring light to plastic in the environment. The dead sheep was for animal testing. I don't see why these are disturbing images unless people dont like to face reality and just want to live in the clouds. 🤷🏽‍♀️

    His name was Brendon!
The beauty indusyry, the very ones who gushed all over him and his products, turned their backs on him and quickly began promoting new start-up lines that unabashedly claimed to be based on The Ordinary's concepts. Except these new star-up lines still added more cost to the consumer and some added more shit ingredients as well.
Some of us remained loyal to his brand.
Some of us have a much lower opinion of those beauty industry know-it-alls who not only basically boycotted his products, but also turned their backs on a fellow human and colleague when he could have used help.
Some of us will continue to use his products as long as the ingredients and integrity do not change.
Some of us have no desire to purchase and support these other 'knock off' brands.
Some of us realize these the companies that are producing these knock offs where not there for us in the beginning.
Some of use will remember those who blacklisted him.
Some of us will miss his genius mind and concepts.
Some of us hope he's now in peace.

I don’t own any Estée Lauder currently and I’m 100% certain I can continue to live without it. The super rich old white dude who owns it creeps me out and this whole situation seems wrong to me and like me might’ve been framed - I’m just now finding out about it but, it doesn’t really add up why the guy would at such a late age in life, after accomplishing so much in life- why he would choose to take such dangerous drugs as he was alleged as taking..... I wouldn’t consider it impossible that someone might have laced a less extreme drug with something way worse..... In order to make him look crazy.... to cover up later crimes against him. It sounded like he was trying to expose Estée Lauder and was taking a stand against the customer being ripped off and the integrity of his creations being damaged, diluted and marked up as well..... There was ALOT of money at stake too..... So if he was actually taking a stand, and unlike others was willing to sacrifice profits for principles..... That to me could be motive for them to actively sabotage him or worse..... Seems like he might’ve been pushed off the balcony or wherever he fell.... Highly, HIGHLY suspicious.

This amazing person was murdered, no doubt, once he developed a brand that was growing very large and attracted other beauty companies attention and consumers, other companies quickly realized how much of a threat he was to their BILLION dollar industry. Developing products that will actually WORK, doesn’t need marketing, no stupid packaging with golds flakes, better yet no gold flakes ‘floating’ around in his solutions to make it seem like it’s the tears of angels. None of that extra stuff serves any purpose, so no doubt in my mind he was murdered, it’s obvious lol.

Love that you commented on this topic, I was also very sadden by his death because I love his skincare brand so much!! I agree with you, I also thought he was an incredible innovator who was ahead of his time and he was so open and honest with everything he did. I’m glad you focused on his impact in the beauty industry and the issue of mental illness because people are quick to judge based on his controversial statements and often overlook how important mental health is.
Keep educating people cass, you are the best!! Xoxo
PS. We have a Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau, not a Canadian president lol 😉

OMG! 😣😭 I only started using his products 4 months ago and they helped me more then everything ever combined in my last 4 years since I gave up skin picking so I did not have acne recently but had to work on hyperpigmentation and surface improvement. And not to mention how sympathetic is the whole idea brand.

Hello Ladies , So I use the AHA30%+BHA 2% peeling solution at least once a week in the evening(should use it twice I just forget). Then after that the Alpha Arbutin 2%+AHA. Then in the morning the Niacinamide 10%+Zinc 1% and top it off with 'Buffet'. They really helped me! Good luck! Look these up on their website so you can see the description.

I believe he was murdered, because he threatened the big beauty companies and industry by revealing how the system works and why we all pay much more money than we need. I hope this will be thoroughly investigated. RIP, he was a briliant person.

I just now have learned of Brandon, a troubled man in the end but a man with a tender soul and a genius. I've watched so many videos of his life and you can see his kindness. I believe a movie about his life would be a wonderful idea. One video, made from many with his partner, made me cry. I first heard of him when Nicola was interviewed. She believes, as you can see from his last rant where he was so unpredictable and obviously unstable, that he fell from that building. She said he was a man who never drank, or hardly ever. He speaks of being drunk from Tequila, a very well known and expensive brand. IDK if others know this but that alcohol is the one type that has a speedy effect. If he was manic to begin with well, the rest is so very sad. What's tragic is that the Mental Health Community cannot help in many instances. He obviously should have been in a more protective environment. It seems it is like alcoholism, one refuses to even be in need until, at times, it is too late. RIP sweet man. You touched my heart and my condolences go out to all who loved you, especially your partner of many years. I felt the love.

Thank you for sharing, this is the first I'd heard of Brendan Truaxe's death. He seemed to be truly struggling from what I saw & I can't help but wonder if anyone tried to reach out to help him. The Ordinary products & affordability are wonderful & should be part of Brendan's legacy. I'm sad that he's gone & extend my condolences to his family and friends - & also to you, Cassie. Take ❤ care.

I didn't agree with the way he treated many of his consumers, specifically how he'd communicate with his followers on Insta.. to the point where I had to unfollow because the drama was getting so bad. He clearly was a troubled soul but he didn't deserve such a tragic end. It's really fucked up how all these people that refuse to conform to society's norms seem to die so young. The Ordinary's Matrixyl Serum is still my go to, super basic, affordable w/ no citric acid or propylene glycol - a rare find. Knowing that he's gone will just make me appreciate the product even more. RIP Brandon.

I’m not making light of mental health in no way bc it’s real and it affects a lot of people. But, I think as the world, we don’t see or we don’t want to see the ugly part of corporations. It’s all about profit and anyone who wants to go against the grain of that becomes a serious threat to them. The narration to how a lot of these people die are always they are crazy, they struggled with self medication, in the last of their days they were uncontrollable etc. and then they commit suicide. This maybe a far reach but nevertheless not everything is as it seems....don’t believe everything that is said about these people...the world of business is toxic and very dark and people who want to make a change literally get a serious fight

Brandon was a true visionary, someone who truly shook up an industry dominated by what he himself coined "selling hope" and not results. As he said he was not anti-hype but pro-transparency. If you want to hear him speak please go to Nadine Baggott's channel and watch her interview with him. Unfortunately she's interrupting him a number of times (overenthusiasm I think), but his deep intelligence and passion shine through in every word he utters. Rest in peace Brandon, hope you have found your peace.

Such a good video Cass! I was following his instagram when he was posting all of that. I was so confused and left with a bad taste in my mouth for him and his company. Just the weird and unprofessionalism that he allowed to share with people who followed him was off putting. I followed the account because I really like the products (and the price of course!) I had no clue what was truly going on. His videos definitely made me question if he was manic. Hopefully people can learn from this sad situation.

  • @Pottedmeat2101

I’m curious because people keep saying it was his mental health and he died from mania or something like that. But did the guy have a history of mental health? Like at all? Because he was 40 years old when he died. If it was a mental illness then it’s a little suspect that he just started getting episodes or showing signs the last year or so of his life after living for 40 years. Also in interviews of when the ordinary started getting popular he seemed like a well rounded down to earth intelligent type of dude. It just seems so out of character for him to end up in such a state towards the end of his life. So paranoid and always looking over his shoulder. Constantly asking for help on instagram because he fears for his life and safety. It just seems fishy
