How did they get fleeced? Granlund was on his last year on the deal and probably wasn't going to resign any way. It's a great move for a rebuilding team!
Mike Grier asset management needs to be admired. Blackwood for a solid rookie and a 2nd when he was acquired for a 6th. Now Gran + Ceci fetch us a 1st + a Conditional 3rd. Can't be mad as a Sharks fan.
Works out for both teams. Excited to see how itll go. Hoping Ceci is another Lyubushkin. Granlund might fit in well with Benn and Stankoven, though Duchene has worked pretty well on that line. Should be a big boost for the power play.
Such a good deal for both teams, Stars got rid of some picks they don’t need for one of the best top 6 forwards available and a very solid bottom pairing D in Ceci. SJS loads up on more futures whether they use the picks in the draft or in a trade
This is a win-win trade. Stars get another solid top 6 player and a temporary defensive fix (I do hope we improve from Ceci). San Jose gets a 1st and most likely a 3rd without retaining any salary
Sharks got sooooo fleeced. They should have re-signed him to help Celebrini + Toffoli carry the team. The only situation where I would recommend trading Granlund is if they wanna go ALL IN for Wyatt Johnston like how the Leafs went all in for Phil Kessel in 2009

Both teams actually made out in a ridiculously fair trade.

Sharks didn't get fleeced. They got assets for two players would were cap dumps. Big Money Mike doing work!
Masterclass Grier
Granlund's OT game winner against the Avs in 2014 is still excellent

I think your so wrong . Dallas overplayed. 1st and 4th for guys who do not improve chance of winning

I swear to god if Kent dont do something today im in the car locked and loaded
After capobianco took so many dumb penalties last night im not surprised they sent him down lol
This sets up san jose sharks to become a third party broker at the trade deadline for any team
That's a really good point
We're still occupying 3 retention slots so that's not possible
@ I don't think that matters if they are taking on players to help a team cap wise.
San Jose has no retention spots available (Karlsson, Burns, Hertl)
The Burns' spot will get freed up this offseason
Canucks should have made this trade instead
Hughes needs a partner, Myers belong la in a bottom pair
Dallas going all in
They did better than canucks have done in their latest trades...but i would of asked for 2026 picls cus this years draft is trash
