What is the first thing you spray into the mold with the hopper gun? Wouldn’t the first layer be resin, or are you using prepreg fabric? And what are you using in the aerosol can with the first layer of CF fabric? Well, I guess it must not be prepreg as you infuse resin.
Hi, it’s an epoxy-compatible clear gelcoat that acts like a clear coat on finished carbon fiber parts. It bonds with epoxy infusion resin, polishes well, and protects the part from UV exposure, preventing it from turning yellow in sunlight. You should let the clear gelcoat dry overnight before laying the carbon fiber fabric into the mold. If it were an engine or interior part not exposed to sunlight, I wouldn’t use it.
So does that eliminate needing to spray on a 2K clear after the part is finished? What’s the actual product. Could you brush it in or does it need to be put in with a hopper gun as you did?
Yes, it eliminates the need to spray 2K clear coat. It’s GC50 Epoxy-Compatible Clear Polyester Gelcoat by Easy Composites. When sprayed into a polished mold, minimal sanding is needed to polish the finished carbon fiber part. If you try brushing it, you’ll likely need to apply several coats with sanding in between, making the process time-consuming. I haven’t tried brushing it myself. You can spray it easily with a gelcoat spray gun.
Nice job 🎉
Thanks 🙏
I like this kontent you are very smart boy 👍
Thanks 🙏
Awesome job👏🙌🏻🤌🏻
Thanks 🙏
What is the second layer (white) that you put into the mold? From there I understand I think.

Okay so adding gel coat spray gun to the list of tools I need to get.
Would be great.
