I'll never buy a black car again. I've had a few and never again. If you like your car to look good forget black as you simply cannot keep it clean, no matter what you do.
I currently drive an 06 2.0 litre sport and find it a little less engaging and fun than my 99 NB. It is better rounded but I’m just not as attached to it. I want to go for something with a little more power next and am thinking about a fiesta st. The price of Audi TT with the 3.2 engine is quite tempting. How does it compare to the NC?
Great question. The mk2 TT is a much bigger and more comfortable cars. It’s more like an E9X M3, especially on DSG form. Very capable all round car with small back seats, 4wd, comfort, performance, solidity but not as engaging or rewarding as the NC.
@@damos_cars thank you for the quick reply. I’m not sure the TT is the best option for me at the moment. I’ll still test drive one if a good deal comes up to see how I feel.
The TT is just a hairdressers cramped Golf GTi, but with less character. I any event, power to weight is only slightly better than a 2.0L MX5. It's hard to put the roof down on an ST, the insurers will crucify you and it's residual will not be good. Why not take the MX5 to someone like BBRGTi for a non-aspirated 200+ power upgrade with the power train as God intended... RWD!
My 07 hardtop is pretty much perfection. Cheap(ish) to buy, cheap to run, piss funny to drive, and runs like a Swiss watch even at 200,000kms. I should watch this again and count how many times he says the words "a little bit..."
A colleague of my dad's said to him to look out for rust on these, I'm currently eyeing up a particular 08 mx5 so I gave the wheel arches in particular a look over for rust but it looked all clear
@@xXxlLEGENDZlxXx Not sure it's even the arches. By the time they rust out, the inner arches, inner sills, and a lot of the suspension arms have already gone.
Would've been nice to see more of the car, voice over to get the info would've been ample, people come to a video, to see the item just as much if not more, than hearing about the review they could simply read about elsewhere.
MK3+ PRHT. Built for driving not for repairs. Happy Christmas & motoring.
So true, thank you! You too!! 😀👍
@@damos_cars MK3 more smiles per kilometers than a Boxster.
I bought the same car in the states at the end of last year. I absolutely love it. 2008 black hard top GT
Niiice, great little cars. Enjoy! Cheers
I would add a reason. Start with the 2009 and up. NC2 is a good upgrade. Good video.
Cheers!
I'm debating on buying 1 as a toy, you should be a salesman you'd make a fortune
Ha Ha, thank you! Praise indeed. There's a video 'dropping' on Friday on this very car again. You may change your mind after watching it!
How has the power roof held up for you? Have you needed to service or repair it?
@@treeskier802 no, touch wood it’s worked fine ever since we’ve had it.
Looking at the Mk3. Thanks for the info.
Any time!

I know what you mean but black does look cool... :-)

Yeah... my bad. Should read NORMALLY aspirated.

Do it. I'd be genuinely interested to know. Also it helps the algorithum. :-D
"Most of the foibles......." No. The big one is rust. And it's worse than ever on the NC's from what I see. What's your one like underneath?
Pretty solid tbf and it lives outside

Thanks for watching and commenting nonetheless. 😆
ummm… is there a shortage of NC Miata footage on YT?
