I have an na and an nc and in my opinion the na doesn’t even compare to the nc and I regret buying the na, great video! Thank you for not calling it the boat of mx5s
Thank you for making videos about more than just S chassis and skylines (basically unaffordable to most nowadays unless you have the know how to fix up rolling shells). Coincidentally i've been 'browsing' Carsales for NA MX-5's but this vid has opened up my mind to the later generations. Keep it up!
Owned kinda’ exotic muscle cars all the way to exotics like v12 jags n loads of Italian stuff too (omg a tr7 2) but on me 4th Miata- Took a hiatus n love affair with Audi’s but I’m back👍 Drove a carmax Nd n thought it was detached ad nauesem from the driving experience; drove a 2013 nc with 37k 1 owner n within seconds I was hooked🏆 Yes it was that intoxicating.
i'm getting my very own NC in a couple days (the 2.0 160hp with the Performance package, aka bilstein suspensions and torsen diff plus heated leather seats), can't wait to take good care of it and drive it in some mountain road around :)
I had a honda fit RS manual and had always wanted an MX-5. Just got a 6 speed NC2 two weeks ago and my god, I never realised how different two cars with 4 cyclinders and a manual transmission could be. The Honda fit feels like you're driving a cheap simulator in comparison whereas the MX-5 reacts to absolutely everything you do and has weight behind it.
Really was considering an nc2 before I got my s2000. Just the hydraulic steering and more accessible limits make it so appealing. It's let down by the poor spec in the UK cos we never got many with the recaros and bigger brakes
It's a shame Mazda never kept the RX series going with a more "normal" engine. The K swap RXs are awesome and still rev high like a rotor. Now all they have is the MX5s and a bunch of suvs. At least they kept the Miata alive I guess.
Looks like a pretty decent car, Mazda certainly had the formula right with these! When my mid life crisis kicks in I will start scouring the classifieds!😁
You could always put some nice road cams and clean up the top end and get it tuned to rev out to 7300-7500rpms, then you'll get your single shift 0-100 without any loss in acceleration.
Fun fact, those are lightest 17 OEM wheels that you can buy. Only 7.7kg. Lighter than anything Honda ever made.
Oh dang that's cool. Stick some on my Accord hahah
I'm lucky to own a 2011 nc2 kendo in Mika Black and I love everything about it. Makes me smile every day.
Nice man! They’re great cars

Haha yeah if you want that more refined experience and more power it's definitely a great choice
Na's were good when they were cheap but now they are pretty overhyped.

Haha I've literally only made 1 video with an S14 and yep definitely consider the NC!
So good to watch this, one of my favourite cars coupled with probably my favourite country/accent. Viva NZ.
Haha thanks man

Nice man you’ll love it
love my NC - best roadster in looks and performance ever....
Dunno about looks, and definitely not performance haha but yes they are super fun
Great Vid bro, I’ve watched most of the NC Vids & you shone a different light on it. Appreciate from across the detch:)
Thanks!

Nice!
You are right. The NC is the best Miata ever. I have a 2012 with 48K miles red like yours!
Awesome!
My car is finally here :D Great review
Thanks man!
These are fantastic little cars 🫶
Indeed
If you can get your hands on the 09 to 2014 NC2 with a 6 speed, Mazda gave you forged internals from factory.
Oh true
And unless you turbo it or ring it's neck at the track every other weekend you won't need it.
_Great review, perfect timing for the hair style😁_
Yes haha
I drove my mums NC down the road this evening, although I drive a 323i the NC is still an awesome drivers car despite the fact my heart is European
It's great aye
Really was considering an nc2 before I got my s2000. Just the hydraulic steering and more accessible limits make it so appealing. It's let down by the poor spec in the UK cos we never got many with the recaros and bigger brakes
Ohh true yeah that sucks. Still a good car thouhh
Those are both the easiest things to install ever.
Never liked mx5s while growing up, but since driving a heavier car for the past few years I could see myself with one of these when I hit 50 😂😂
Haha yeah they're really fun. Lightweight is good
the nc is great!!
Indeed
First! My mum has a 2006 NC
Oh yes

Yeah and frankly even all their normal cars are still great to drive, haven't succumbed to the CVT bug. I like them
Looks like a pretty decent car, Mazda certainly had the formula right with these!

Haha epic
wow stock exhaust? it sounds so good
Yep
Do you reckon a K20A2 would be too much power in a Mx-5 chassis?
Oh nah that would be the perfect amount haha S2000 is 240hp, K20A2 is 200hp. Would go very well
Not sure how adding 40hp would suddenly be too much for a chassis... 😂
Is the thermostat broken on that car because the car run on hot that entire video
Looks to be right in the middle to me?
Gauge in the middle is oil pressure, water temp is bottom right gauge
@@KavinFan0803 ohh yeah that'll be it. Temp is bottom right
any possibiltes of a V6/V8 challenge again?
Oh goodness haha maybe
Whats more fun, this or the Z4 on a nice sunday drive top down?
Hmm probably this although the z4 is faster and has more features
MX-5 for sure!
i do not know why but in Dubai never saw one and i found only few with hard top
Doesn't everyone over there drive Lambos?
@@KiwiCarLife hahahah many try to show off but in reality 90 precent of lambos are financed
Thank you for not calling it Miata in the title to get more views!
I was weighing it up haha
Because NC it’s the best Miata, coming from NB.
I reckon, in terms of bang for buck
What body kit is on that do you know?
Not completely sure sorry, some kind of oem kit from japan
It's the OEM Appearance Package for NC Roadsters
This or your 130i?
130i definitely
@@KiwiCarLife interesting. I like my 130i because it is close to being an MX5 but a bit more practical. Wondering why you like the 130i more?
@@mattdebyl8806 STRAIGHT SIX BOIIIII
I like it more than NA one, but short gears mmmmhhm i kinda dont like it, you have to be in 3rd to go 100kmh, my dads MB6 civic went 115 in 2nd
Nahhh would have to disagree. Short gears are way more fun in a low power car. Nothing more annoying than waiting for the power
@@KiwiCarLife But you are constantly bangin through the gears
@@jovanciric4264 that's the point of it
The 5 speed one would be better for you, I think they have slightly longer gear ratios than the 6 speed.
You could always put some nice road cams and clean up the top end and get it tuned to rev out to 7300-7500rpms, then you'll get your single shift 0-100 without any loss in acceleration.
How tall are you:)?
6 foot
Damn I want one, but I have an Na.
One day man! NA's are going up in value for sur
Gotta admit the NA Miata looks the best of all the miatas
Ehh I personally would rank ND, NC, NA, NB
100,000 miles is pretty impressive for a Roadster
Yeah it's still going really well
Mine has 200k and still running strong.
Love you bro 🇵🇰
No homo
It looks like a baby s2000
Does a bit
You have to drive the nd2 bro, definitely the most fun car ive driven,
Yeah I've heard they're a bit better
From owning a NB2 to an NA6, now on to an NC2🤌
Nice
