    Also- it’s always good to know how to properly fit a ”life jacket” or “life vest”. It seems some of the vests were put on the lads inside out. The bright color should always be on the outside so you can easily be spotted in the water. Sarrus jacket looks a little too big on him. They should fit snug to the body. The fear of water is a strong one and no one should ever be pressured or shamed for being cautious before entering. Such a great adventure for the guys! ❤️

    • @jennifernielsen599
      @jennifernielsen599 2 года назад +8

      So glad they continue to have new experiences!!! You said exactly what I was thinking! I agree with you that they should not be pressured or shamed. Simple validation of letting them know it’s okay to feel scared when trying new things and giving them knowledge that the life vests, though they were not properly fitted, would keep them floating. For future adventures remembering Encouragement and knowledge is much more effective at bringing positive results than fear and shame.

      About to say the same thing, Sarru's jacket was too loose. It would be difficult for him to place his head above the water, especially if no one told him to hold on to his jacket. (Learned the same mistake with my first jacket experience)

In my country, sea swimming like this is always being accompanied by the instructors, despite the guest saying they can swim on their own, and despite the water being calm. But again, perhaps the Indian way is just different. I'm just glad they came back in one piece

    During ww2 those that were shot down over the channel had to bail out, cut away their parachute so they wouldnt drown and then hope theyd be rescued, sometimes alone for hours or upto a couple of days in a dinghy. Those that survived became part of the "goldfish club" and got a badge. If you were lucky you had an inflatable dinghy and weren't simply floating about in the water with a lifejacket (especially in winter). Of course back then not everyone knew how to swim either.
    I believe with a life jacket the best thing to do is lean back and curl up to prevent as much loss of heat as possible in a survival situation. Plenty of militaries train for bail out situations but generally in swimming pool sized but deep tanks nowadays

    I thought it was rather rude that the boat guy called Guddu "fat". He's not fat at all! I'd just say that he has a bit more of a "European" build than the others. He actually looks quite fit!
    And compared to Sarru, of course he's going to seem like a giant of a man, since Sarru has a much smaller frame and weighs about 84/85 pounds. (38.12 kgs)
    The only reason I know his weight is from watching the video from last year where they visited the science museum.
    There was a short scene in the museum section about the human body where Sarru got on a scale and his weight was stated in the translation caption at the bottom of the screen.
    Even though Raeen and Sarru were frightened by the deep water, they still went in and that's what facing your fears is all about! That's pretty brave, when you haven't learned to swim! I'm very proud of all of them!

      I don't think they have the same body image issues as Westerners. For most of the world, if your BMI is over 23, you're fat. No way around it. I say this as a fat man myself. Not proud of it, but it is what it is.

      A lot of the times is the translation of the editor. You can see that he doesn't use the proper words very often. Another thing is that people all over the world don't get offended/the things they say aren't meant to be offensive.
      What the man on the boat said, was "look at this guy, he is heavier than you and his life jacket can hold him just fine, don't be afraid that the jacket can't hold you above water"

      @@Itwasalwaysme_Noone The boat guy does call him 'fat' the first time he talks about him.

      @@charlie7mason Again though.. Is this the true word that he used, or is this a translation issue. And even if the word used was actually the word "fat", what does "fat" mean in the context of a different culture? Is it an offensive word? Or is it a "matter of fact" statement, meaning "this guy is larger than all of you" (so you shouldn't be afraid).
      There is also a middle ground between offensive in-your-face, and just a word that may be offensive. For example he may have called him "fat", but he just didn't consider how wrong this might be, of course he wasn't mocking him in his face, he may just said something without thinking. (again, I'm not trying to excuse him, if it was my country-man that said that, I would correct him, and I would try to explain how wrong the phrase he used sounds. But on the other hand, I'm just trying to say that you should understand the simplicity of the mind of some people that just say whatever comes to their minds. I personally don't hold the same grudge to them, as I hold to the people that do it on purpose)

      @charlie7mason 2 года назад +1

      @@Itwasalwaysme_Noone Oh, I'm not trying to fight about whether he meant it offensively. As an Indian, I know that we tend to throw the word 'fat' (motaa/motu) around quite callously, without meaning it offensively, although it isn't taken as lightly in some western cultures. Just saying that he did call him fat. But you're right, he most likely didn't mean it as any offense to Guddu.

    When I was in the Marines I was assigned to a Unit called Shore Party right before I got out. They did this to us all summer long when they picked different weather conditions to "Take us for a soak". It was kind of fun in the beginning until we heard them tell us to watch out for the summer sharks.

    Aww you guys are awesome. It must be an experience to go in when you don't know how to swim! This reminds me of that great Indian movie, I think it's called Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara, where the characters do things that they have been afraid to do, like swimming in the ocean 😊 Love you guys! Keep living life and enjoying ♥️♥️♥️

    I’m a great swimmer and grew up next to the ocean, and I have to say the people working the boat were so annoying. Calling Raeen and Sarru children for being scared. And calling Guddu fat. If I were there, I would’ve gone in with them so they weren’t as scared, and I would’ve helped them instead of calling them children
