I have a bit of a theory: I got the Civivi Mini Sandbar, the cool Eric Ochs design they did...and it has a milled Ti pocket clip. To date, that's their most recent folder. So I'm wondering if, as in the days of the Civivi Aquila, Courser, Statera, and Wyvern, if they're not sticking a milled Ti pocket clip back on there, possibly with a few other bells and whistles, and then upgrading Sencut into what the $40-$60 Civivi range used to be with the goosebill clips, but also upgraded steel (as we've seen on the Neches and the Tynan, which have both had 10Cr15CoMoV, which is basically VG-10 under another name) and even a steel framelock knife that has honestly entered the same territory as the Civivi NOx and Perf (the Tynan).
A comment about the pivot screw. You're absolutely correct. Every single knife I own unless it already came with loctite will work its way loose rather quickly. I have gotten to the point, especially if I'm giving someone a knife, that I will always disassemble them to clean tune and loctite the damn pivot. I always have tools handy but I would rather not have to break them out at an inconvenient time.
I’m not sure if you know but the olight i3t can run on 10440 lithium cells and the low and high both become much brighter. I have it in titanium, copper, and brass and I run 10440 in them all.
I despise stamped out, fold over pocket clips. The old civivi's actually had milled titanium clips. I blame all the aftermarket deep carry pocket clips that people buy for their spydercos and benchmades
I personally love these clips, and I'd replace most other types of stock clips with them. Wire clips are terrible, milled clips are usually too bulky, anything bigger than a stamped gooseneck on a deep pocket is usually uncomfortable when you go to grip the handle.
@@animademachina2747 Very similar, yes. It's a knife that every time I handle, always impresses me with its value. If you get one, I'd like to know what you think.
Actium is very *very* good! Really great to fidget with too, with all the different deployments and the drop shutty close. I put it right there with the Brazen and the Ruike P801 on quality per dollar.
There are 4 cornerstones to steel composition: hardness, toughness, edge retention, and corrosion resistance. All compositions will have a different balance. Higher hardness doesn't always mean "better" steel. All compositions have an optimum heat treat range set by the manufacturer of the composition, and it's up to the company who makes the knife to determine how that composition is heat treated. For example, M390 tends to do VERY well at 61-62 rockwell. If some other company decides to harden it to 64, it'll have better edge retention than other m390 blades hardened to 62, but substantially lower toughness (higher hardness usually means lower toughness). This will be a big problem for some people. Also, steels with higher hardness are NOT always better in the edge retention department, as that element depends heavily on the base composition. For example, ZDP-189 hardened to 65 will have WORSE edge retention than M390 hardened to only 63 at the same geometry. Of course this example assumes you favor edge retention above all else, which is not by any means the "end all be all" of a good blade steel. Furthermore, the geometry of the blade will play a huge role in how any composition at any hardness performs. There are charts online, but most oversimplify things and are very, very misleading. This one isn't bad. It covers the basics well www.bladehq.com/cat--Best-Knife-Steel-Guide--3368
Now don’t I feel like a damn fool I’m still trying to learn to spydie flick my para 2 and 3 Thanks MC never fail to make me feel like less than a man bahaha 🤣
If you look at just the front end of the blade it kinda looks like a knights helmet. Maybe I’m trying to see that too much idk anyone else kinda sorta see this lol
Lol “the blade shape…” *edit* I gotta wonder how long you deliberated or more likely, mocked people who deliberate about that blade shape before you were like ugh I gotta cut that for time 😂

Maybe its just me but the blade shape reminds me of a viking seax!
I wish more companies would use blasted finishes on higher end knives. It looks so good.
Feels kinda odd seeing him review my knife. Glad to see I bought a good knife.
I agree, I like all 3 brands but wish they’d stay in their lanes regarding cost... Sencut < $45, Civivi $50-100, WE > $100. 👍
kershaw has made a couple exclusives with the same kind of materials as ZT

I'm thinking about getting one of these Bronte's and I want to put Loctite on - how do you do it?
Has a handle like a vosteed corgi. I love the blade style on it. Had to buy it.
I've been interested in these sencut models just to try it out
The E is silent. Several of the Sencut models are named after towns in Texas. I was born in San Angelo, Bronte is near San Angelo.
My Bronte is scheduled to be delivered tomorrow.
The G10 version is Burgundy like the G10 version of the Civivi Altus.

I would run them in my timascus i3t but that beauty don’t get carried ever at all lol
Haven’t bought one yet , like the backlash looking one
Looks like a good food slicer.
I got one and it's a great beater. Civivi Jr. 👍🤙
Mini sax that thing is awesome!!
I like their pocket clips alot. I do not get a hot spot on any of their models, I have about a dozen sencuts.
No retiene la hoja cuando está cerrada???????
The red one with the blacked out blade meshes my fascination with the show "The Last Kingdom" and Deadpool!!!

@@jawaring4367 I do the opposite. I get milled titanium clips for everything I can replace. We should trade lol.
I have a Sencut sceptre I like and like you say , just like civivis
The Sencut actium is just about the perfect budget knife. Highly recommended.
That’s cool looks like the Civivi backlash I might have to give it a try

You'd probably also like the Sencut Episode, pretty similar
The fact that it doesn't have that horrible looking CIVIVI logo is a plus.
I have 3 different knives from ferrum forge and all 3 of them have pivot lash.
Is this only available on Amazon?
What would you call this blade shape?
Angry triangle
@@metal_complex haha I like it!
@@metal_complex 🤓 actually I think you mean angry trapezoid
Civivi / Sencuts clips are the only clips that I like. I hope they never change them
Any chances on a review of the giant mouse ace corta?
Just from the thumbnail I thought it was a slipjoint for some reason😅 Seems like a cool design though
Brondos got electrolytes!! Great video brother 👍
Is there a graph that shows the quality of knife based on the metal?
Like hardness level and for its vs price? I can't find something like it

Howdy Howdy from Oklahoma. Not too sure I like the way the blade sets in the the handle.
Lol the Acumen is a copy of my odium which is a copy of a mini arch bishop
yeah civivi is moving up in the world haha!

straight up poopoo town

I like sencut more than civivi personally.
Lol “the blade shape…” *edit*

Seax blade Tip.
I have bouggt 2 Civivi knives and the edges on both have been TRASH.
8cr......but 9cr is good ?
Better than 8cr13
"Straight-up poo-poo town" lol lol
You should get the CKRT Wu tool to take apart your knives. It much better than the old crappy one you use.
A little over priced. $51 for these materials?
I'll get one if they make it in a better steel around the $70-100 price point
That would make a nice slippy
I pronounce it bront-ay
Which would be correct.
It’s pronounced bronte, you’re welcome
Lol
bront lmao
