I left this in my shopping cart for maybe a couple days before it sold out. Smh. I just started collecting this year and I’m learning something new with every purchase and every video. I stumbled upon YOUR CHANNEL first and it continues to be my favorite and most influential. THANK YOU! Congratulations on the success of the channel and looking forward to tonight’s Friday the 13th livestream. A humble request. Would luv your logo on a tee (standard front left), with the answer “Because scissors suck.” written across the back. Please and thank you. Take my money! Lol
Thank you for showing us this beauty. I went to my local gunshop today to pick up a Benchmade , but they were slim on choices (time of the year) I remembered this video as I passed the Kizer case and saw the original in micrta and picked it up al9ng with a sparrow, thanks again. Both are excellent, especially since I get them at a good price.
honestly the size is perfect. i notice with larger knives i cant be as fidgety. This size allows my pointer finger to be on the button while opening it left handed. I can open and close it so fluently. I like the simplicity of the handle. I only wish they had different blade shapes like the malibu tanto shape.
Ahhh…so this is the origin of the original xl! Pretty cool that they actually did exactly what you said. And funny that people complain about the name you accidentally gave it because it’s not particularly XL.
I think 2 weeks ago I got to Kizer Cormorant, the one with looks like a PlayStation controller. I love it! The Original looks great though. I agree a bigger one would be quite appealing!
Re: the Cormorant... Also love it! I was drawn to the one with the X's. It's my favorite knife now. Always in my pocket... I dyed the scales 2 different colors. Turned out great. Have fun fidgeting!
I found a bought this knife a couple weeks ago. Absolutely amazing knife. It's been in my pocket everyday without exception. On a side note, you said that's number 463, and I have 472, I guess me and whoever bought that one got them at similar times.
This knife checks all the boxes for me. I was disappointed a few weeks back and when I found out I couldn't get one. I may pick up an assassin but I'd prefer to have thumb studs.
I’ve been desperately searching the secondhand market for one of these in Gray over the last week or so, the size and shape make it perfect for my use case.
All black one is on its way to me. I’ve been flipping my Civivi all black Cogent daily and I hope this little one will be the same fidget factor. I’ve had $500-1200 knives but always reach for my Civivi Cogent. Can’t wait to her this original.
I have the gunmetal version on mine, id love the all black and the od green edition, i have two drop bears, still nees the rainbow and green scaled versions, im brand new to this community, maybe six months in and i love it!
What are some of the best slicing pocket knifes? I find a lot of pocket knives have blades way to thick and not really good slicers at all. For a fixed blade I dont' mind a thicker blade, but for pocket knives, I don't care for thick blades. A thick blade with it being very 'tall' with a hollow grind, still isn't the smoothest slicer. Cutting an onion would still not be super nice b/c of thickness.
I have this same version and I love it. The only thing I had to modify was the pocket clip. It did not easily go over my the fabric of my work pants. This is a common thing with some other Kizer knives and other brands. So I have to bend the tip of the clip so that it can go into my pocket without forcing it in. It's an easy fix though.
Question, what kind of sound does it make on deployment? I ask because I was very disappointed with the Cormorant and the Conspirarator both lacked any metallic sounds on deployment. Instead they sound like plastic tubes being knocked together, more of a tunk instead of a tink sound.
@@ElricESR if you grab it a bit further back it makes that typical aluminum *twang*. i have both, the original and the cormorant and the original definitely sounds nicer.
I love my Original in gun meatal gray. Great knife with nice action and my favorite steel. Wish I would have bought three or four of them. The Original and my Kansept EDC are me favorite two button locks.
M.C‼️‼️ I had come across the Original during initial release via Mojave Outdoors. (Mojave and Kizer collaboration) It really serves me well!! I carry it as a secondary for when I'm working around patients. Just can't say enough good about it. Definitely need a 7½"-8" version. This understated design yet solid fit and functioning tool has the potential to reach "Elementum" status. 🤔🤫 Stay safe, stay sharp 👍🇺🇸👍🔪
Tried my first button lock, a Civivi Elementum. Very nice action. Knife in my pocket is a Kizer. Great value and very nice to carry. Sit's in the corner of my pocket. Prefer a stone washed or satin blade. Agree on the lanyard. About as useful as a lanyard on a pistol
I love mine but when it came from Amazon the pivot screw was stripped and fell out. IDK if it's Kizer's QC or Amazon but shouldn't have been allowed to be sold
Glad I snagged one when I had a chance. Part of me wants them to make more, so I can grab the gunmetal version. The other part likes having a "limited" run... (No.084) I'm sure they will make more though... It's too good not to.
Can someone tell me how to tune the detent on spyderco para 3. I just got my first two spydercos in the mail a para 2 and 3 and the 2 will drop open and shut with the press on the compression lock feels perfect but the 3 is a lot stiffer
Would jump on this in a heartbeat and would probably be my #1 carry IF they would make it with a spear point blade. I like drop points, but my absolute favorite blade is the Kershaw Dividend. My Dividend was my #1 for years and love that blade. So I absolutely HOPE I get to see the original or similar from Kizer!
I absolutely loved this knife. It's been my edc for about 3 months. Only probably is about a month ago the pocket clip lost it's tension so I removed it, bent it in, and put it back on. But when I put it back on one of the screw holes he ame stripped and the screw was just spinning inside. So I have only had one screw for the past month. Then today it got loose again so I screwed it back in and the second screw stripped. So now the screws don't go into the hole. I happened to have gotten really lucky and I have an extra cutjack screw lying around( yes it somehow fits) and can continue using this knife for now. I'm really not impressed with that. Other than that the knife is great.
"And It doesn't have a big goosed face dragon buck tooth bill on it" bahahahahaha! 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I laughed so hard I almost spit my coffee out. I had to pause the video for this comment. Hilarious....ok I'm pushing play now
I have acquired some more expensive knives and they feel like they cost . Kinda like the nicer expensive guns . They cost more and I can tell when using them .
🙏RESPECT🙏...... Quick, Simple and Comprehensive. Thanks. I agree with every suggestion you have for this Kizer model. I was fortunate enough to get both and so wish I could score the gunmetal version. If Kizer also produced this in a few softer colors for the ladies, demand would soar even higher. This knife is indeed perfect. The Altus is extremely close but the Original is just a bit more sexy 👍
Got this and the assassin. Will say my grind is not perfect little more one side than other n catches on paper a little bc of wonkyness but action is great n could prob touch up w my worksharp precision adjust
My pivot walked like an old person at the mall when I first got it. It hit me on a bad day and I nearly punted mine before I gave it a chance. Glad I did, because I love it now. It's an amazing little EDC. It's so Q-U-I-E-T! I can fidget with it endlessly without annoying everyone immediately. The designer is "Gage" (his mark is on the pocket clip). Thanks for your thoughts on it, MC.
Guys, want to help me out? My thumb stud opening is EXTREMELY hard to open. It swings freely with the button down but opening with the thumb studs is almost impossible sometimes. It’s chewing up my thumb. Anything I can do without taking it apart?
10 comments a day of people trying to tell me how it's pronounced lol. You all have a different idea. I think I'll just call it the "Chevy" and move on with my life
MC, I have not seen a review of the US made Spyderco Delica 4 knife kit. Bar code 7 16104 50033. Plus you can find it in the dark. Just received my Ontario Rat No 1 ... much better to make comparisons with. Big knife and smooth. Take care. PS ... after seeing you talking about the Lightning, I ordered one along with a Microtech Ultratech II D/E ... like them both!

Lol fast forward one year and I’m looking up videos for the Kizer original xl 😂 guess u nailed it

I got my Kizer Assassin button lock today! My first Kizer!
Lucky, let us know how you like it
Where did you manage to snag one? I’ve been looking everywhere, all sold out
I got my first three kizers! V2 cormorant, cormorant xl, and titanium cormorant in m390 blade steel. They all feel quality
Any issues with it? I'm looking at getting one
I waited up all night for the drop and got the gunmetal version. Love it
One of the best button locks ever, hope they make more as well. I could see one of each color in my collection.

I don’t know if you’ve seen yet but they did exactly what you said, the XL is out but also sold out everywhere I’ve seen.
Ahhh…so this is the origin of the original xl! Pretty cool that they actually did exactly what you said. And funny that people complain about the name you accidentally gave it because it’s not particularly XL.
Definitely a small/slim knife guy and this one looks like it'd be a great user! Definitely hope they make more

I finally got one. Its quickly becoming my favorite carry knife
I have 1 knife in 154cm and I love it! I actually like it more than s30v.
i have all kinds of steels on my knives and ibstill prefer 154cm over most other steels, even the pm ones
Looks like I'd love this knife. I'll be keeping my eyes open for one from now on. Thanks for the detailed review, MC!
I love the Kizer original. I’ve got the all black. I honestly wish they had the OD green like that in stock when I got it.
This knife checks all the boxes for me. I was disappointed a few weeks back and when I found out I couldn't get one. I may pick up an assassin but I'd prefer to have thumb studs.

Did you see that the Original XL is coming next month (May) ? They're doing a variant with frag pattern titanium !
I have one of these in green, and it's by far my favorite fidget knife that I have do far!
Just ordered one in richlite. On sale from like 75$ to 35$, I just bought a vic super tinker and it arrived today..... but I couldn't pass up on it
I was able to get one of these! Definitely not disappointed!!

7 months later ....just bought the all black for my wife and the tan micarta XL ....way to call it MC!! 67$ for the black and $80 for the XL
I would love an xl version with blue scales
I love my Original in gun meatal gray.

Just got the kizer cormorant titanium 20cv love it .The original, drop bear, escort, and a Sheepdog XL are next
times like these i don't like being left handed and no ambi clip holes!
The Benchmade griptilian is literally the perfect size for a knife.

i never order from amazon for exactly that reason, knives either get danged up or replaced with fakes and then sent back.

I love that color!
Yeah I wish they made more too! I’d love to get my hands on on of those! Looks really nice!
As someone who owns one, I can confidently say you’ll love it. They’re on Amazon if you’re looking for an easy buy
@@rye734 I didn’t see them there but I’ll keep looking, thank you

I just ordered this in red richlite, can't wait sik review bro:)
I need one of these I was to late to buy one
The button lock is the new cleaver
i got it last tuesday, sold out quickly
I adore this knife. I really can't think of anything negative to say about it, but I think I would adore the XL version 20% more.
Just bought the purple version: really like the knife.
I’m considering this knife currently
Oh they’re watching MC 😊. Great vids as always. Congratulations on the 100 k 👍👍
Bigger! Larger! Yes, yes, yes! Preach it brother.

Yep got to have one great size for every day carry.
MC Mojave is referencing Mojave Outdoors as it was one of their exclusive models with Kizer.
I'm not sure if I want this or a civivi Altus
I believe Kizer designed this with Mojave Outdoor.
Love Kizer. Love that green color IMO
would love to see this as an xl version. $100 -$120 should be more than reasonable
Need button locks on washers.
They are in fact doing an Xl version.

Close, Shuh as in shovel vaL as in Valrie and yay as in YAY! 100k!
Yeah if they make it just a hair bigger its gonna sell like crazy
Chevalier- Shev-al-yay. French for knight.
Yes. Me too.
But there's no Jimping!!
Oh they'll make the shit outta this knife. It'll have many versions like the beglieter
Mojave Outdoors collaboration with Kizer.
I love my original!
Looks fun
