I bought my 2020 Interceptor for its simplicity and ease of maintenance. In the days of manufacturers loading bikes up with electronics and features I'll never use or want its refreshing to buy a classic motorbike with just the basics. Good review by the way.
I've had my 2019 interceptor 650 since late 2020 and it still makes me smile every time I get on it , I am myself a massive triumph fan having owned a Tiger sport for the last 10 years , the interceptor is a 2nd bike but I find it's my go to for summer days out great bike and so easy to customise and make your own, would be good to see an interceptor on the channel bud 👍🏼 safe travels
I will be buying this baby next month! wife gave me the green light ;) not had a bike in 10 years and can't wait! watched hundreds of reviews and almost all have been positive. Thanks for this reviews, now subbed.
I love the interceptor is everything I wanted from a motorcycle after years in the saddle…. But the biggest surprise for me was test riding the shotgun 650 my goodness that really does go through the bends completely rock solid doesn’t even quiver on the bumps. Nice catch up…. Don’t be worrying about the triumph, who said you have to have loyalty to a brand when it’s surpassed by a cheaper brethren. 🤷♂️
Unlike the Triumph, you need not worry about radiator coolant and coolant pump. The tappet adjustments on the RE are done using a simple screwdriver and spanner. The RE exhausts sweep up and out of the way of accessing the rear axle for chain adjustment. Win, win, win.
After nearly 30yrs on litre sportsbikes i bought a used 2023 interceptor . Do i miss the arm wrenching power? Yes. Do i miss the sore wrists, cramped knees and back ache? No. Do i have as much fun? Most definitely! Its a great bike and always brings a smile.
Agreed! I’ve always wanted to try a proper sport bike and will hopefully in future but nothing beats the balance of a bike like this. It can be fun and is comfortable too!
I traded in my triumph for a 2020 interceptor, baker express. Recently installed the TEC full exhaust and it sounds magical. It's a pretty slow bike, which sounds like a con but really isn't. It's so much fun to be able to use more than one gear without losing your license
I've just sold my T120 which I had owned for just over 2 years. It looked gorgeous and I enjoyed riding it. I wanted a cafe racer style bike so bought a 2 year old 3500 mile Continental GT for £3k 2 months ago. I bought a chrome tank plus some other customisation parts and I absolutely love it's looks and ride. It may be only half the power but the sound and the way it pulls I can really ride it to the full. And I haven't stopped yet where I end up having a conversation with someone.
Sometimes less is more. End of May somebody reversed into my parked Tuono 660 Factory and wrote it off. Insurance paid out and I bought a Tiger Sport 660 blind as they had no test ride. 3 months on I decided it was far too tall for me but brilliant motor. I traded in and picked up a 14 month old bike with 1200 miles on the clock. I got a Scrambler 900 in black with headlight guard, fly screen, heated grips, LED indicators front and rear, rear seat replaced with rack, triumph single side bag with mount, centre stand, £500 worth of YSS shocks and tail tidy for £8900 😂 Looks and sounds amazing. I love it. I couldn’t have got a decent trade in offer unless I stuck with triumph but the Interceptor is a good bike.
I’ve been riding for over 30 years, the interceptor is a fantastic bike, and considering the price difference is every bit as good as a triumph, I’d recommend bar risers for taller riders, and touring seat, also fitting a 16t front sprocket, they can cruise at 70mph at 4000rpm with plenty of power left, so ride on motorways all day long,
He's back! Man I can't explain how excited I was to see a vid from you and that it is about an Interceptor. This year I've fulfilled my dream, got a full license and bought one of these (blacked out one). This to me is what a bike should look and feel like. Can't wait for more from you! All the best.
@@Willieswheels Yeah, I try to enjoy every sunny day we get these days. It’s exactly as you said… this bike is a trusty companion and can do much more than people think.
The deciding factor in my purchase of a 2020 Interceptor.... besides the great look, excellent performance for a 650cc engine, was the price .... out the door, $5300.oo plus tax and license... our dealer didn't do the added freight, crate fees at that time. I did the seat upgrade, Cravin saddle bags from the UK... color matched... The 1000's $ I saved from a Triumph purchase will fund my adventures, basic maintenance on the RE for years.... The new 650 Meteor on the show floor with saddle bags.. as of yesterday.. is $9200.oo which would give me a pause for thought about just stepping up to the Triumph... 😎
Hi new here. Fellow Interceptor rider. Mine is a 2019 model new to me and done 3000 kms since I got it (18000 now). I changed the tyres to Michelin road classics a few days ago and first impressions are as expected. Worth it! Agreed the seat is not for me either, awful 😊. It’s an excellent 2nd bike to my T120 Bonnie. Look forward to more of your journey.
I tested one of these. Great value for money. Yes you can see where the corner have been cut but that is to be expected. However for me even though I am not a fast rider these days the engine just can't cut it. Maybe in another 10 years when I'm 70. Nice bike though the Enfield scrambler would be a better choice if only that 650 could put out more power.
I’ve had one of these for a few years now. No problems great bike. My only critics is the bikes weight. I fitted a 2 into one exhaust which shedded around 10kg. If you shop around you can pick these bikes up for around £5,500.
long time no seen mate. How are you, I hope you and your family are doing great and are healthy. What are the bikes are you looking for ? what is the best looking RE for you mine is GT 650. Wobbling is suspension issue ? I thought it is lack of sticky tyre. Take Care
It's been a while! Life has been very full on over summer so haven't been able to upload so much until now. We're doing well though, thanks so much for asking!
Nope you're right, I am WOEFULLY behind on editing, but will catch up to date in the next few weeks. So doing a little bit of a time warp in the next few videos!
Sales have fell this year for RE, they needed a more powerful interceptor, this year a 800/900cc with 65/70bhp would be perfect. Unfortunately RE are going the wrong way and loosing what made people love the revised brand, they are investing in teck like sat navs and trip computers when in reality we loved the classic old style, old bike new reliability, simple engineering, just make them that 10/15Bhp more powerful and they will see a huge sales increase again. The guerrila and the new Himalayan have flopped because they went for teck and new more modern looks, they lost their identity, keep the interceptor analogue dial and put a 800cc in it but keep the 650 model for new riders, use the continental bike to update with teck and try new things like triumph do with the speed twin. The interceptor is RE Bonneville and you don’t seem them making huge changes to that just refinements each time, that’s what RE should do. They destroyed the Himalayan don’t let them do it to the interceptor l.
i love the bike .... without going into the whole long story i will simply say ,.. at twelve thousand miles it started leaking oil at the base gasket ... i am very disappointed ... i am going to be brutally honest here.., For me personally , it is a damn shame that i spent my hard earned ... and by the way , there ain't no stinkin' warranty,.. because they will go 'complete nut job' and give you a million BS reasons for ANY failure,.. Watch the videos of the assembly process , the engines are slapped and screwed together with crossed threads and stripped bolts never reaching proper torque values etc. etc. etc. crooked turn signals heat shields etc. etc. ... It's a 'finish it yourself' proposition just like they have always been since production stopped in England ... Like the corner store down the street selling counterfeit cigars and charging full price.... the alloys used in the engines and in other components are third world substandard, and the machining and casting looks like a fifth graders work , and finally, the bike is a piece of crap , and no matter how much i love it and want it to be good, it is still a piece of crap ...

Bro! update for this bike is around corners (my guess around jan2025)... So if possible wait a little longer and go for new updated model.
@@1809vishal honestly, I'd go for a low mileage and well maintained 2020 euro 4 model. They run slightly cooler and are easier to mod.
@@Root_boy they sure do👍
Got a Black Ray model.

Small ? Not the correct adjective here
Nimble is still okay
I’m 6’3” it feels compact 😂
Small and nimble are not the adjectives I'd attribute to the interceptor. LoL

Top tip, never ever pitch your goose on the sidestand side of your bike. Soft ground and you´re suddenly sleeping with the bike.
Great point. I put something under the stand, but in heavy rain/winter it’s the other way. Wouldn’t want a 200kg lump on my head at 3am
