Hands First - Body Follows!

  • The Body follows the hands and that simple skill triggers many things to happen automatically in your golf swing.
    Your body follows your hands, I’m telling you this is massive!
    I believe that the average club golfer has been tricked into thinking that power and speed comes from turning the shoulders and getting the body involved.
    Stop fighting with complicated swing mechanics, body rotation, hips, shoulders!
    All good and great players have learnt to do this first, to learn how the hands work and what plane the arms are swinging on,
    This fires other things to happen as your body reacts to these movements.
    It’s all about how your hands and arms work relative to the club-face, that’s where control comes from, not your body.

    I’m finally seeing what you mean by complex body mechanics. It explains the swing you demonstrate in your videos.
    We are so accustomed to seeing these highly trained athletes with advanced swings and mimicing them.
    You’re right.
    Thank you!!

      Yes it’s taken these highly skilled athletes years of dedication often from being children that’s why it all looks so effortless! The difference between the elite level and average golfer is that there is absolutely nothing the same! It’s a different game! Cheers for your great comment 😊👍

    Hands come through first, especially with irons, I remember. As an amateur, I totally agree and that’s why I bought your book. Hopefully it will be there when I return from Africa. I’m athletic enough to score pretty good, but I was trying to use my body for too much and went from a bad slice to an occasional duck hook, which was always out of bounds.

      Yes definitely buddy, the hand and arm swing pulls the body into the correct position! Up to 90% of power and club head speed comes from the hands, arms, wrists and upper body! The body is just there to support the hand and arm motion and reacts to it! Throw too much body in and things can get quite erratic 🥴 Have a great time in Africa, hopefully you’ll get some golf ⛳️ in! Let me know when you get your book 😊

    Another great and informative video Lee. Well done to your children, doing excellent in their respective competitions. I should report you to NSPCC for making Ruby wear an Everton hat 🤣

    Hi Lee, I purchased your book and love your style of teaching. Try to watch all your videos. I have believed that you have been promoting an active “turn over” of the wrists through impact, but this video seems to say that the hands are actually “flapping back and flipping through”….not the “rotating” of the hands through impact. I guess either I’m reading things wrong …or am just totally confused😖😖.
    Please help me understand.
    Thanks!

      Hi Dave buddy, excellent question! The ball is the best teacher and the golf swing is a rotation directed at a target.
      Therefore the rotation of the hands and arms before, through and after impact “the release” should be a natural movement in conjunction with the body movements.
      If the ball is spinning to the right then you will have to actively rotate the hands in the downswing and through impact to square the face up to the swing path and body movements! And vice versa with a ball flight that overly spins left!
      So the answer to your question is that you are correct! The hands and arms rotate in unison with the swing path - so they do rotate and turn over through impact!
      If you watch ruclips.net/video/f3zLJLtutxE/видео.html Signature Swing I explain this with a tee in the end of the handle and how it relates to the ball during the swing.
      We are all different and as long as everything “matches up” and fits your build and style of play then we are winning ;-)
      Cheers, Lee 😊👍⛳️

    ok, but, if the body follow the hands, how you get the hips open at impact, it have to come first than the hands no?

    • @LeeKopanskiGolfswingzone
      @LeeKopanskiGolfswingzone  26 дней назад +1

      @@jld6608 The body supports the hand and arm motion, from throwing a ball, tennis or whatever! The faster and more powerful the hand and arm motion the more the body reacts to it and moves accordingly to support it! That’s why the hips are open through impact, as the weight transfers from right to left due to the forces needed to control and support the hand and arm motion! The hips don’t move in isolation, they move as part of the reaction. Watch my video here it explains this in more detail! ruclips.net/video/xHJS_RJmL54/видео.htmlsi=pB7-L27cowFD9fRC

    🤔🤔….or maybe they are just turning over AFTER impacting the ball…?????🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

    • @LeeKopanskiGolfswingzone
      @LeeKopanskiGolfswingzone  Год назад

      Hi Dave, if the rotation is after the ball it’s too late to have any impact on the ball flight!
      The hands, arms and body should turn together in unison and “the release” the turn happens way before impact!
      Some golfers do it with their grip, wrist angles in the backswing or with an active release!
      The ball is the best teacher and every golf swing is different but for a consistent swing the clubface has to match up with the swing direction and body movements!
      Even a golfer that arches his left wrist closing the clubface in the backswing still has an element of rotation (release) before, during and after impact!
      Cheers my friend, Lee
