Everton have some great players in midfield now and great forwards in DCL and richarilson. It's a shame they sold Digne to a direct rival just before Benitez left, that's really poor management because he would have been great for Frank.

@@vikdaddy I've seen an old episode of Bullseye from 1982 in which Frank, while throwing for the microwave cheesepaster in number 7, admits to his desire for the aformentioned transfer of Alli
When people say he was overhyped or overrated, I think those stats show the hype was justified. If you are more than doubling the goal involvements of the likes of Lampard and Gerrard before the age of 21 then you are dealing with a special young talent. Sadly all the more disappointing he never built from there.
Question is why is he even being compared to Lampard & Gerrard? Dele in his peak was a second striker often further forward than Kane, not a midfielder at all. His best attributes were his movement and finishing, but once the goals dried up the player underneath was extremely average in a lot of areas
1:40 is spot on the reason why Dele has failed recently is because he's let his off pitch life take over and he's lost that hunger. I mean just by looking at Dele Alli in a picture from 2017 to now you can tell what the issue js.

During those first few seasons I thought spurs would go on to have the most legendary English duo in Kane and dele. In the end, one player kept his head down and worked hard while the other didn’t.
Not sure about that. I think pochettino ruined his development by playing him in deeper midfield roles and out wide when he was playing well as a second striker to harry kane. Injuries didn't help either

Dele never had the challenges to prove himself like Frank and Stevie had at 21.. Stevie at that age was establishing himself for England and fighting with Danny Murphy for the CM spot, Lampard was playing midtable and not yet in the England team. Frank and Stevie were fighting to climb the ladder right up til they were 24-25.
He's not a special player and this worries me about Lampards judgement. He's been rubbish for about 4 years now. Thats not a slump that's just giving up and stealing a living. I think it's a terrible signing and Lampard is a bad fit for the Toffees.
