It's definitely easier on the eyes. Maybe reserve the black for special occasions-like interviews, final predictions, or other major awards milestones-and stick to the natural background for more general occasions.
Chris and Joyce are getting better everyday. That was the best podcast interview of Sebastian Stan, excited to see the next guest. I'm guessing Chris is probably in a hotel room in L.A.
If I’m not mistaken, and correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe the last year there was a Best Picture nominee with just acting nominations was The Post in 2017 for Meryl Streep. Interestingly enough, 2011 had two with Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close (Max von Sydow) and The Help (Viola Davis, Jessica Chastain and Octavia Spencer)
You're absolutely correct, Gina might wanna rethink and fact check her emails before she sends them. I don't think A Complete Unknown is only gonna get nominations for just Best Picture and acting, it could get in for costumes and editing and it just made the shortlist for sound. Just because critics groups haven't nominated it in the other categories doesn't mean it won't get in at the guilds and BAFTA.
Marianne delivers the best performance of the year, and I think jaded boomers will love her performance. I think Cynthia Erivo is vulnerable a la Margot Robbie in Barbie. Wicked is loved but I don't see the same passion behind Erivo's performance as someone like JHud in Dreamgirls. Demi too. She has the comeback narrative but genre bias is a HUGE HUGE obstacle.
True. I also don’t understand why it was suggested that any actress can do what Nicole did in Baby Girl. Sure any competent actress can do the role but not with the stoicism and vulnerability that Nicole can do and the way she unravels for a role. The best example of this is her role as Ana in Birth. The 2 minute opera scene is unparalleled- she only used her beautiful eyes and so subtle changes in facial expression-very haunting! She does not do histrionics which I appreciate. Am about to watch Dogville again, another masterpiece in acting and the movie itself.
I'm hoping to see Fernanda Torres being nominated (just like her mother in 1999) for I'm Still Here. I know it's a long shot for someone not acting in English but she is absolutely breathtaking and the movie is amazing, so I feel like she deserves to be there. And she has the whole country behind her, that's how powerful she is... she united a politically divided country with her performance.
Please lose the black backgrounds forever. At times it looked like there were floating heads on my screen. Really enjoy watching the 2 of you together.
Can I request a David L ban? lol Daniel Craig and Josh O'Connor's actors on actors was really fun as well they were just laughing and talking shit for 40 minutes. Them having worked together on the new Knives Out I could tell their chemistry was very genuine I feel like if A Real Pain isnt in best picture and Kieran doesnt totally sweep Guy Pearce could be the alternative cause he'll be in a best picture movie and he's been getting some critics groups momentum lately. Overtaking Maclin's win total and now being in second with critics wins. Also the answer is Ariana Grande in every single aspect.

Yeah I also don’t get the criticism for OMITB s4…I thought this season was fantastic. It did have a couple of meh episodes in the middle but it started and ended strong imo. It landed in my top ten list.
I believe Cynthia Revo is the Emma Stone of this year. She's an already established actress who is already everything except in Oscar. She's going to finish that off by being an egot winner after the Oscars. I think Awards voters will already see that as her narrative and how her character talks about racial discrimination, which is also a big problem in the world that is going to automatically resonate with the words voters more than the film already has. Not sure what anyone feels about this, but let me know. Mikey Madison is the front-runner, but she'll be knocked out of FrontRunner status after Golden globes and critics Choice Awards I'm sure of it.
Drop Angie and Demi, put in Marianne and Nicole. I Love Callas, hated the soap opera movie. Looooove The Substance, just don't see it. Chris, when i was a kid, my friends and i would do a top 10 of the weeks songs and my top 10 would have about 25 entries because I'd have a ton tied for #1. I can see you doing something similar.
@@user-CatherineDodd wtf, get psychiatric help. He has a strong accent. He will always play Russians, if anything. That's how the industry works. I assume you're Russian too considering the brain rot.
The Substance and A Real Pain are my two favorite films of the year.
Thank you for the background! It’s so much better!
The contrast is beautiful. Keep this one background is black the other is a bright room
The black shirt on Joyce helps
THIS LOOKS SO MUCH BETTER WITH SOME ONE HAVING A BACKGROUND!!! .... Just maybe rethink the black void a little bit... Maybe?
Agreed.
It's definitely easier on the eyes. Maybe reserve the black for special occasions-like interviews, final predictions, or other major awards milestones-and stick to the natural background for more general occasions.
Absolutely. Love the contrast
Kieran Culkin is basically playing himself in the film. Also, it's clearly a Lead. Enough of the category fraud.
Actually if I blur my eyes a bit it sorta looks like Joyce’s head is floating

I'm not a stan of either, but come on. Ariana was by far the better actress this year.
No one emailed about the Anora discourse? That has obliterated my feed the past 2 days
No one asked us! Please email!
Is there any actual Anora discourse, or is it just people being annoying about Mikey Madison and overblowing the intimacy coordinator discourse?
Her co-star did a nude audition... This is all unhealthy
Because its just not that deep
Finally light as the backdrop
All we imagine as light... backdrop

Nicole should be in top 5

I second this! Let’s ban the black background!
We need a tv specific mailbag. Putting it out there!
Wait till Emmy season
YAY!
27:27 how the heck is "Blonde" toxic? It's the most human performance of Marilyn ever on screen.

David L acts so strangely combative and condescending on multiple platforms, I’ve learned to just ignore him at this point.

Erivo not Revo.
@KaiOpaka That's what I meant. My autocorrect seems to be talking a lot. 😂
She didn’t even get in at London critics. and she’s british, so no.
@myytchanneldinakoha8498 One loss isn't going to cover the recent wins she has had. A lot can change in the next few months.

Overhyped for the annoying Keiran Culkin. Borisov or Pearce should win for best supporting actor.
