Our family loves Parrot Mountain sooo much! 💚 Thank you and I love seeing Denise in your videos!
I also live in the Smokies & love this place, i really want to get a bird there but my only negative about the place is if you do plan on buying a bird from them it's rather a pain because:
1) You have NO IDEA what they currently have for sale, simply calling them isn't accurate either as not all the workers know the names of them so can give inaccurate information as to what birds they have by mistake.
2) They do not mention ANYWHERE on their website or Facebook about the cost of the birds.
3) They don't post ANYWHERE on their website or Facebook as to what birds they currently have available.
4) They don't post ANYWHERE on their website or Facebook of new birds for sale or birds that are sold out.
5) You HAVE to pay for a ticket regardless even if you're only wanting to purchase a bird & not go through the gardens/sanctuary, which currently tickets are about $35 a person with tax/fees.
It is unfortunately a gambling system for someone who is actually wanting to purchase a bird there, I've wanted a bird strictly from them for YEARS but not been able to be there to get the bird I want due to these 5 problems & considering everywhere else including other sanctuaries DO list their available birds I just don't understand why Parrot Mountain does not - so it's rather frustrating to pay about $100 for gas + pay for a ticket ONLY to see if they have a bird for sale you're looking for because they also don't do waiting lists or anything of the sort it's first come first serve :( if they would provide this information on their website it could bring in even more people since it's not exactly known at all even by most locals considering it isn't really advertised, it's in a residential area & so all signs for it are on backroads which is a lost in profit since i've heard countless times of people wanting a parrot but none are close enough OR of people travelling up to 2 days just to get a bird when they could have got the bird within their own home town.

I love that place, Parrot Mountain. Visited it in spring 2021. About a 3 hour drive from me in Lexington, KY, but last time I went there, where you get to interact with the parrots and feed them, a Moluccan cockatoo climbed onto my neck and whispered sweet things in my left ear. Wish there are more parrot places like this because not everyone can have parrots in their home and it is still very rare to have friends and relatives owning a parrot.

Happy Birthday, Denise🎉. How cool you holding all those birds St once with some on your head. When I was little we had a white male parakeet named Tweety. He would say. What you doing? He also said Tweety bird. He loved mashed potatoes and spaghetti. I also pet sat 8 cocktails all at once. One of them loved to sit on my head. Makes me want to get a bird.

The first parrot that was sleeping was Amazon Double Yellow Head parrot. My mother-in-law had one that would sing "The Yellow Rose Of Texas" plus numerous other sayings she taught him. 4:18

Love birds. Have two parakeets, one is named Liam who is white and sky blue and the other is Shay who is green and black. They were both rescued birds.

The story about how this started is amazing. The people who started it live only 10 miles from where I live here in Deep South Mississippi
we are elderly and we were there a few weeks ago we could hardly stand up birds were beautiful but if you have issues better not take the tour even parking lot is steep
