- Not as complicated as I thought it would be on this car. This is a straight forward job anyone can do in the drive way. One thing I will say is have your system drained at a shop before you start then you will have to take it back to the shop to have it charged. After I was done I took it to have it charged and the A/C works flawlessly at temps around 48 degrees F. this video is just on replacing the compressor and belt. thanks for watching!!! Like and subscribe if your new!!
One of the best videos I’ve watched man great explaining and all around great video , to bad i put my car in the shop and it’s gonna run me 1,800.00 dollars to fix the same issues , 🤦♂️
Man that’s a bummer. You it was a little more work than I originally thought. But hopefully they get it taken care of! Thanks for watching
“Got all the way down here and didn’t even grab my wrench….” Real mechanic shit right there lol
Thanks for your video. It was really comforting knowing how to do it. The way you did it perfect.
This video is very helpful to me. Thank you! Now time to go do it myself lol
Excellent video.. was extremely helpful
Did you pump the frion?
Did your ac work after you replacement
Maybe I overlooked it but did you drain the freon before you disconnected compressor? Also is there a dryer or some kind of check valve that you're supposed to change you change the compressor? I have a 2013 that I'm about to do myself
Yes I had the system drained before I started.
What about the drier? I'm about to do this job and I want to know the same question?
@@DJRussellBrian did you change your drier?
@@dylanholzman8840 did you change your drier?
@@AW-yc2tc yes I got the drier… had to take off front bumper and had access to it from underneath next to the radiator… it’s connected to the condenser and It’s on the side of it… you can unscrew it and pull the old one out… flush the ac system with everything disconnected in one hose and out the other… make sure you flush with a good enough compressor to blow it through and leave no ac cleaner inside system… then you stick that drier up there and I used a long needle nose plier to loosen./tighten it because you got to stick it in the hole and twist it
Going from the bottom is easier
Nice video. Thank you 👍👍👍
Honestly, you made that look too easy. can i ask what type of adapter for the breaker bar?
Hi ! Should Freon gas be added after completing the compressor replacement?
Yea you will need to have a shop discharge the system and once you complete the replacement you will need to have a shop recharge it. The refrigerant dosnt go bad so a lot of times they will credit you back what they take out. But don’t try and use the recharge kits from a can. They won’t work unless you can pull a complete vacuum on the system. Hope this helps.
Yes need to take to shop.have it suited down.for Leaks amd hold pressure then fill with and add freeon at shop to do it with no leaks
nice video, my kid just got a 2019 cruze with 41K
It’s a nice driving car but they aren’t built very well. Ours is a 2013 and it has 70k on it and I’ve had a lot of issues with it so far. Not to impressed with it for the mileage. I’m hoping it will change my mind tho.
@@dylanholzman8840 Oh thats not good , best of luck to you & my kid as well then, hows the ham studying going? cant wait to chat one day, be safe
It’s coming along. Just got finished up with a lot of online training for work. So now I’ll have more time to put into it. So hopefully very soon
Is this the turbo 1.4?
@@Eric-qu2vp yes it is.
@dylanholzman8840 ok thank you for your video! Helped me price a job
Great video and very informative, Where did you purchase your new compressor?
Rockauto or geekparts is a good place

You going to put free on in it
No I took it to a shop to have it charged
