    One other feature about the MJJC is that you can easily attach a bottle of straight product to the underside of the nozzle, just in case you want to foam a shampoo directly, with no dilution.

    Great video. I also have the MJJC foam cannon pro and also a $15 cheap foam cannon from Amaozn with a swapped out 1.1mm orifice. By looking at the video, my Amazon foam cannon with the 1.1mm orifice has about the same foam consistency as that MTM. The MJJC definitely has thicker and richer foam in my tests also and it is my main foam cannon. I find that you can use shampoos that are usually not as foamy with the MJJC with great success since it foams them up really nice compared to other foam cannons.

    I believe that since you applied the MJJC foam first it of course was the first to move off the panel, the great thing about the MJJC is you could dial the concentration down making it foam like the MTM PF22.2, but you still cannot adjust the MTM PF22.2 to perform like the MJJC.

    Great video! I've purchased the MJJC Foam Cannon Pro V2 after seeing your video, and plan to use it to wash my car on a weekly basis. I've noticed that you fill the MJJC reservoir all the way to the top - how much do you consume to get through a standard SUV? How do you store the excess? Or do you throw the excess away?

    • @TurnerMobileDetailing
      @TurnerMobileDetailing  Год назад +1

      Thank you! I’d say for a medium size SUV, depending on how heavy you go on the foam, but generally about half the reservoir should do a medium sized SUV. If your going to use it weekly the just store it in a place where it won’t freeze, and no need to dump out the excess just use the latter half the following week. If you’re going to store it for a long period of time then I would clean and flush it out good with distilled water and let it dry a bit, then store it. If you have extra product in the reservoir, and you plan on store it for a while, then just use up the product in the car, no point in dumping it down the drain.

    I think MJJC is both a better foam cannon AND a better value. For the home enthusiast or pro-detailer alike, they would be smarter to just go with the MJJC. The MJJC also has that wide mouth which is a plus as well. MTM was a great cannon back when it first came out but MTM needs to up their game and invest in making version #3. They should take note of everything that MJJC has done to their cannon and put those features into their own V3 cannon. They should also incorporate the same feature as the Griot's Garage BOSS cannon with the inner thread which allows you to attach the smaller bottles directly to the foam cannon. That is a handy feature which I use on my BOSS cannon. The BOSS cannon is a great cannon too, similar to the quality of these two cannons.

    • @joevanseeters2873
      @joevanseeters2873 2 года назад +1

      I do have one question, does that "inner" thread inside the black cap on the bottom allow for smaller bottles to be directly threaded onto the MJJC Foam Cannon head like the Griot's BOSS foam cannon? That would be really nice feature if it did that. Would be a much better deal than the BOSS cannon at approximately $40 less! The pick up tube looks identical to the BOSS. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if the same manufacturer of the MJJC Foam Cannon also makes the BOSS cannon for Griot's. They look very similar in design and the pick up tube looks identical. I know the little metering tips from Griot's do work in the MJJC pick up tube, I saw a different video that demonstrated it. The tube is real pliable and has the stainless ball on the end exactly like the BOSS cannon. The only difference to the BOSS cannon is that inner thread so if the MJJC allowed for that, that would be a great value over the BOSS cannon.

    • @TurnerMobileDetailing

      I totally agree, MTM it kind of a dinosaur now, they need to update more than just the shape of their bottle.

    • @TurnerMobileDetailing
      @TurnerMobileDetailing  2 года назад

      Dude, I totally missed that, I just tried it and yes, the MTM nozzle does have an inner barrel that will accommodate a smaller 16oz bottle to directly hook up a bottle of product! Thanks for that suggestion! It’s not threaded, but it slides on fairly snug.

    • @joevanseeters2873
      @joevanseeters2873 2 года назад +1

      @@TurnerMobileDetailing Ok thanks. The Griot's Garage BOSS Foam cannon IS threaded which makes me think the same manufacturer makes the BOSS foam cannon because the cap assembly and pick up tube with that small silver ball looks identical. Griot's probably has some sort of "exclusive rights" to the inner threaded one so the manufacturer (if it is actually the same one) probably has to leave it unthreaded as to not piss off Griot's or infringe on some sort of patent or rights to that inner treaded barrel to accommodate the 16oz and 32oz bottles. If you do use it that way, get a set of METERING TIPS from Griots (they sell just the tips) which fit into that silver ball on the end of the pick up tube and will correctly dilute any chemicals directly hooked up underneath without having to pre-dilute them.

      Using the same ratios in the bottle, is actually not the right way of doing it. They are different lances, and they pull product at different rates. The MJJC pulls faster, which is not better, just different. This is in part because the MJJC was designed mainly for the consumer, where the MTM was designed for the pro market. This is also why the MTM has the narrow neck. That means you can fit the sprayer head to most bottles out there. If you want to compare the actual foam producing capabilities, you need to look at the total output ratio of soap and water. We use both and both have their place, but let me put it simply. The MJJC will pull 650 ml of product in the same time that the MTM will pull 425 ml. Again, that has nothing to do with quality or the like, they are just designed different. If you mix the product so that the output ratio is the same, the MTM will outperform the MJJC.

    If u pre-wash it with the pressure washer first, why does the very thick foam matter?

    • @TurnerMobileDetailing
      @TurnerMobileDetailing  Год назад +1

      Several reasons. If you’re using foam as a pre soak, a high alkaline shampoo can dissolve or at least loosen drier, debris and traffic film so it’s gone when you do your contact wash. If you’re not using it as a pre soak, and it’s just a basic neutral shampoo (which these are for the most part) the thick foam provides lots of lubrication so you severely lessen the risk of scratching or swirling. A pre rinse with just the pressure washer is good, but at a safe PSI, it won’t get everything off that an alkaline shampoo pre soak will prior to hand washing. Hope that makes sense.

    16:45 starts the comparison

  • @AB-80X
    @AB-80X 2 года назад +1

    Dude, it's cool that you do these reviews, but you might want to think a bit more about how you execute the comparisons. They are designed differently, and even if you run 1.1 orifices in both, they pull product at completely different rates. The MJJC was from the start designed to be used with smaller washers in the consumer world, whereas the MTM was designed for the pro world first. Not because the washers are much more powerful, but because it gives you a longer work time with a full bottle. If you actually want to test how they compare in terms of foam, you need to use a mix that result in the same output water to soap ratio. Of course the MJJC will foam more if the mix in the bottle is the same. It outputs almost 30% more product.
    Also a quick note on the neck. That was designed that way so that we can use bottles other than the wide neck bottle. Many of us in the pro world do that all the time.
    Lastly, to say that you really should go by the manufactures recommendations is not true. That is only true if you know their recommended PIR. Unfortunately most of the soaps sold don't specify this. An example of how bad this is, look at Chemical Guys Honeydew Snow Foam. On the bottle it says to use between 1 and 3 oz for a 32 oz bottle. However, if you call them and speak to them as a pro in need of actual info, they will tell you that their product needs to be used in a 1%-2% PIR. For our MTM canons, that equates to 5 oz for 1% and 9.5 oz for a 2% PIR solution. And this nonsense is the same for many others.

    • @TurnerMobileDetailing
      @TurnerMobileDetailing  2 года назад +2

      Thanks for the input. I hear what you're saying, but at the same time, keep in mind that the info that you are putting out there is not known by the general public, and generally, all people care about is foam output. I use both these cannons interchangeably on a day to day basis, and i see no significantly longer working time with the MTM compared to the MJJC, if any. When the average person makes a purchase, they're thinking about foam output, not PIR. Even a pro, having more foam on the surface, creating more dwell time on pre-soak and lubrication for a contact wash, is much more important to me than saving a few cents on product. Shampoo is cheaper than having to buff out scratches or swirls. I never stated that that the MTM was a poor product, I use it myself, and I have found it to be more reliable in the long term. But when it comes down to dollars and cents, your average consumer is looking at cost compared to production, and for a person who is going to use a foam cannon once a month or so, again they're not concerned with PIR, they just want foam. Also, about the bottle necks. MJJC also has a provision under the cap to receive a smaller, standard bottle size if someone wants to hook the cannon directly up to a product bottle, plus the wide mouth reservoir opening. And if someone is running product straight from the bottle like that, then they definitely are not concerned with PIR. All in all, both cannons produced very nice foam. But if MTM is concerned with the product flow rate compared to other cannons, and PIR of various shampoos, then they should make that more known to the average consumer, especially if they're going to be making their product available to the average consumer.

    • @TurnerMobileDetailing
      @TurnerMobileDetailing  2 года назад +1

      Not exactly. Thick foam provides excellent lubrication during the hand washing process, almost eliminating the chance of scratching. I hear you about runny foam, but unless your not going to rinse the foam off, then it doesn’t really matter if the foam drags the dirt down off the car, it just matters if the soap loosens the dirt or not. If the foam has better dwelling time, the better the chance it loosens the dirt before the rinse, rather than just running off the car and not having enough time to loosen the dirt.

      @@keithblacknell957 yes sir, that’s what I’m saying, when using as a pre wash, you’re going to rinse it any way, so a thicker foam will give more dwell time for the soap to loosen the dirt before you rinse. While a runny foam may pull some dirt off with it, it won’t get as much dirt because it’s not on their as long. I just recently discovered your channel. I like your approach to detailing. I've been at it for almost 25 yrs. You and I are on the same page about so many things. I really like your content. It's delivered well and your info is concise and on point. Keep it coming!
