I adored this film so much and like you I've watched it a ton of times. Something about Metalocalypse is so insanely rewatchable. I think I share similar thoughts as you... Part of what I love about this series is these goofy characters who on the surface are hilarious and kinda shitty people at times are actually insanely fleshed out with their backstories and little details as far as what drives them. I would have loved to see some more closure for Toki for example who has been through so much torment and pain, I kind of feel sad that they all just had amnesia after Doomstar and that wasn't ever really addressed again? BUT again I'm so much more thankful than anything that we even got this in the first place. Thankful for Brendon who has deserved to end this for years. Can't wait to see Dethklok live!!!!

Brendon said if you listen to the vinyl order of Galaktikon 2, it tells a story.
As for Abigail, I wonder how much of her role reduction was due to the original voice actress not returning to reprise her role. Her singer for Doomstar Requiem replaced her for the film.

I say let the series rest now. The story has been told and we're still rocking out to the music in our hearts.
Bless you Brendon Small, Adult Swim may be dildos (as Skwisgaar might say) but you gifted us the brutality of the Klok.

Deathklok is said to have a death curse but i think its actually a "Change" curse, death being the simplest form of change.
Energised by the bands nacent god powers, the gathered fans begin to change.
Toki takes to the skies as the SkyHunter.
Swissgar spreads his seed as the ThunderHorse.
Murderface becomes DeathFace, lord of Death
Nathan becones the Murmaider, water god
As for pickles i think he may become something like Galaktikon, hes quite tied to tech..

thanks for the review. it was fun!
this was not a criticism, but i was hoping you'd touch on/provide insight into the possible parallels between Nathan's journey (specifically, breaking up with then reuniting with the fans) and perhaps Brandon's/Adult Swim's relationship with the fans. I recall someone at adult swim encouraging fans to fax in their requests for more Metalocalypse only to reveal the requests were literally going into a trash bin. to come full circle and make this film and have this theme as part of the plot cant be a coincidence, right?

I hope they do a series that looks into the backstories of various characters that appeared over the course of the series, Salacia's origin, Magnus, Crozier, Offdensen, Rockzo, Snakes 'n' Barrels, there's loads they could do, An anthology series featuring a defining moment in their backstories, episode each (or two in the case of Salacia).

Technically, Salcia's origin is somewhat in Galaktikon 2, since Galantikon 2 was suppose to originally be how Metalocalypse was suppose to end, of which I'm happy it didn't follow through with.
The song Nightmare is pretty much Salacia's backstory, but it's not that much, aside from being a really good song.

Holy Trinity??? hmmm. Blasphemy.. Space ghost coast to coast. Brak show. Sea lab. Harvey birdman attorney at law.. Tim and Eric awesome show great job. The boondocks…!!!…. Black dynamite… Home movies!!!… and for the best one that feels classic yet relatively “new” being mike Tyson mysteries. Since norm macdonald is one of the best human beings to ever exist then convincing Mike Tyson to perform a part like that is amazing on its own .. and of course there are others that aren’t as well-known and ones that are well-known that people like a lot but these are the ones that stick out to me the most where I love them. And I don’t see it even remotely possible to choose between all these.
Of course Aqua teen hunger force is awesome but how are you not gonna acknowledge space goes coast to coast like the origins … as one of the holy Trinity. The holy Trinity shouldn’t that be like the OG that led to all this amazing stuff? I love venture bros more than anything, but I’m pretty sure they were influenced majorly by Hannah barbera universe especially after it was being used by adult swim since they own the rights to it or somehow got a hold of them. I mean, you know.
And then there’s shows like Metalocalypse that are pretty much like heavy metal versions of home movies dialogue…. And then home movies lead to H John Benjamin, getting love for his voice and his demeanor. Frisky dingo happened and that led to archer. So frisky dingo is also one of the big adult swim shows. There are way too many just to say holy trinity… and then there are shows that I never really liked but when you’re a kid kid you watch it just because you like edgy stuff or kind of pushes the envelope or taboo. I always thought about chicken was pretty dumb and not fun. I prefer aqua teen over that. I was always bummed when they chose that over that. Since I didn’t have much time to watch and I couldn’t get caught watching it adult swim in general I mean .. it was also awesome to be able to watch cowboy bebop trigun Inuyasha and all the other animes they both like ghost in the shell that cowboy bebop theme song, change my life I love amazing compositions ever since I was a kid like a theme song or music theme like that’s the best samurai champloo… sometimes samurai Jack will play that was also awesome but it was mainly on Cartoon Network instead of an old swim back in the day. Dude those theme songs or so worth it every time watching the intro.. I felt like hearing the Indiana Jones theme song or the Star Wars theme song or ennio morricone composed Sergio leonne film theme song
Even the venture brothers composer was amazing. What’s his name Jay something one worth it’s been a while. I lived in breathe venture brothers for like a good decade, but it’s been a while since I watched it. I’ve been trying to forget so I could rewatch it and feel as close as I can to you. That’s what I do with everything. I love.
Do you need balance in life for everything? Yes. That’s why monogamy usually doesn’t work not only we’re not biologically made for that but like you know, balance; the difference between medicine and poison is dosage. Familiarity breeds contempt. And age breeds complacency Don’t ever forget that if you forget your grandparents to be honest with you, you’ll see that it’s true
Jg thirwell. My freaking Dumbo butt thought it was JQ Wentworth or something.
But dang dude yeah sorry I sound like a snob or like I’m being mean I just don’t get how you could just choose those three as the holy Trinity.. if I were to choose the Trinity, I would do the original three that maybe led to the shows that I listed that I love. With the anime being different, I mean be the ones I listed they were like really huge for the world when it comes to anime if I recall correctly Cause adults swim was actually like playing it you know.. and the voice actors were amazing. The English dub was amazing for like cowboy be Bob and oh my God, the writing… I’m very grateful to have lived an adult swim prime. It really hurt when the leaders or owners or whatever the freak you want to call those corporate dues on top like Mike Lazzo $& Kieth crawfish eater seem to just give into absurdism and then they sold out and just left.. leaving us abandoned mini shows canceled and then we just got force fed movies, forcing the creators to like shove. What could’ve been one plus seasons into a short movie….. It’s really messed up. It won’t last much longer. I’ll tell you that unless they get their crap together well, the new people I don’t know who’s in charge anymore. I’m very glad that there are Torrance. Keep it alive all the old shows and like recordings on Internet archive of adult swim back in the Golden days for a few hours does beautiful Sunday nights at my dad’s house when I spent the weekend over there and he stole cable lol. It was hilarious when Aqua teen made fun of people who paid for cable. & they stole it.
But anyways, I’m so thankful to the people who receding because like I got all the stuff from home movies and Aqua teen extras, and I’m gonna try to find mor to seed n keep alive myself contribute. Makes me sad when I know there is our lost media lost art lost amazing shows and lost amazing moments and extras and behind-the-scenes and interviews and fun stuff. There’s so much I didn’t see a kid. It’s awesome. Anyways, I don’t even know what I’m talking about anymore. I just know I miss the old days. Not just because I didn’t have responsibilities as a kid well scary hard ones. I had normal little kid responsibilities. Which is nothing to adult ones. As long as humanity is around, I wish that we could keep it alive and let anyone access these memories these moments and time that are timeless.
My brother, always loves Squidbillies and Metalocalypse He got me into those two
