    Pricing guide to sell rings: For copper rings you can charge $10 to $20. Sterling silver rings it would be double ie. $20 to $40, depending on the bead value. You can browse Etsy and search "simple wire ring bead" to see similar rings and prices. Purchase the ring here: www.etsy.com/listing/700829609/simple-womans-ring-with-cats-eye-bead

    Materials Required. See description for more details about tools.
    16 gauge copper wire for ring base: amzn.to/2EkApeG
    18 gauge copper wire for ring base if making a smaller ring: amzn.to/2DCyl07
    24 gauge copper wire to attach the bead (you can also use 22 gauge): amzn.to/2Cm2ofB
    6mm cats eyes beads (multi pack) amzn.to/2CqWg3k
    4mm round hematite beads amzn.to/2CehapD
    8mm cats eyes beads (multi) amzn.to/2CfrkGI
    Sterling Silver:
    20 gauge: amzn.to/2FHIrhh (best to buy half hard for the base)
    18 gauge: amzn.to/2DW2bNR
    24 gauge (dead soft) for the wire that attaches the bead: amzn.to/2BRU4zV
    *** You can buy small amounts of Argentium silver wire on Etsy. It is like sterling silver, but tarnishes less. Purchase: etsy.me/2EFX7lf You would need RD-20g HH for the base and RD-24g DS (if your bead has a small hole) or RD-22-HH or DS (if your bead has a medium hole). HH means half hard and DS means dead soft.

    Hi Heather! I've recently decided I'm going to try some jewelry making. The one thing I wonder is, after you take that last little twist to secure the wire, what's to keep it from digging into the skin? Should it be filed a bit to smooth it? Also, how much do these rings sell for? Thank you for the excellent video! Can't wait to see others. 👏👏👏

    • @HeatherBoydWire
      @HeatherBoydWire  6 лет назад +1

      Hi Jamie: Thanks so much for watching and for your great questions. When you twist the last wire be sure to finish it on top (not underneath where it touches the finger). If you cut it flush with nice sharp pliers and pinch it with the flat pliers a bit you should be fine. I generally don't file the wire. For prices you can charge $10 to $20 for copper wire or $20 to $40 for sterling silver wire. Price often depends on your presentation and branding when you are selling it. If you sell on Etsy be sure to post stellar photos and create a unique brand image. GOOD LUCK.

    I just happened to come across this video, and I must say that I really liked this one! Little things such as what size wires to use is often not mentioned in a lot of "make-your-own" jewelry videos (which has left me pulling out my hair or yelling at my computer!). This video, however, not only told us what size wire we should be looking for but also what tools we'd need to make these cute rings. The entire ring-making process, including each video'd step, was clear and easy to understand!

    Very nice and easy! And the bead looks suspended instead of hurting my fingers trying to wrap wire around the beads. This uses a lot less wire to make several rings too. Thanks a lot!

      Yes, the bead doesn't press against your finger...great observation. Thanks so much and have fun with them.
