Even it's awesone that Maul serves as the character icon thumbnail for this video. Of course this resulted in Vizsla and Death Watch betraying Maul, but what's interesting is that Maul expected Vizsla's betrayal way earlier in advance before they arrived on Mandalore and while he felt upset about it he seemed pleased with this as his imprisonment along with his brother Savage allowed them to find another replacement for Vizsla which they can use as their Puppet ruler: Almec. The fight between Vizsla and Maul is one of my favorite highlights on the episode and one of my Favorite fights in all of Clone Wars and a satisfying end for Pre Vizsla for being such an extremist Zealot Scumbag on his Mandalorian Idealogy and how he was portrayed in "A Friend in Need". It even shows us how his soldiers react over the course of the fight until Vizsla's death with some seem almost entertained, and others looking concerned (Bo-Katan). After Vizsla's Death and Maul taking up the Dark Saber, this resulted in Death Watch being splintered into two with those siding with Maul and becoming his own Army for his Shadow Collective (The Mauldalorians) and those who oppose Maul (as they see him as an outsider) and want to just return Mandalore to the old Mandalorian ways and not just some tools for revenge against the Jedi including Obi-Wan (Bo-Katan and her Nite-Owls). Overall, it was a "win" for Vizsla and for Death Watch as they succeeded on ousting Duchess Satine and her pacifistic government. However this soon became short-lived for Death Watch as it soon became a win for Maul because he finally found a planet that he can conquer in the shadows for his Criminal Empire while having someone he can use as a puppet ruler publicly (Almec) on Mandalore and having his own Army of Mandalorians. On top of that, even the Jedi (Including Obi-Wan) and the Galactic Republic remain completely unaware what is going on right now while Maul and his Shadow Collective were taking over Mandalore. Prepare yourselves for one of the greatest duels in Star Wars and probably the best in The Clone Wars. Honest question: is the duel in the next episode still the best or has it been surpassed by the one in Season 7, in the final arc of The Clone Wars?
IMO it is still the best. I just love how Sidious at the beginning of the fight could've crushed Maul and Savage but then decided: "You know what, I'll fight them with my lightsabers. I want some fun. I want to show these two Sith wannabes real UNLIMITED POWER." I do love the Season 7 fight but honestly, the one in the next episode is the best.

I knew the Duchess was a pacifist but not arming her own security forces with lethal weapons is stupid crazy! Even Costa Rica which doesn't have an official army arms its own police forces with lethal weapons.
Seeing this fight now, after seeing Maul's battle with Ahsoka here, it really shows how amazing that fight is, and how dated this one looks in comparison.
I feel like the reason Bo Katan didn't accept Maul is simply because he didn't live by the creed of being Mandalorian (details of which are screwed all to hell between EU and Canon)
I love how Maul takes the high ground and chooses not to use the Force in this duel. It would have been so easy for him to telekinetically snap Pre Vizsla's neck, especially when Vizsla was openly cheating by using guns, bombs, shuriken, cables, a jetpack, the whole Mandalorian suite of weaponry. Then when he beats Vizsla in a fair manner, hand-to-hand, we clearly see how the Mandalorians react to that, and they realize that Maul is the superior warrior, which explains why so many of them were so eager to abandon Pre Vizsla's memory and side with Maul against Bo-Katan.
@@cadmus204 Another reason is that Maul is not interested in Mandalorian Tradition and just wants the Mandalorians for his own army as tools to get revenge against Obi-Wan, the Jedi and the Sith.
This arc was great, but the only problem is that Pre Visla is a complete idiot. Instead of executing Maul like he said, he threw him in jail, even though he knew he was powerful in the force. What is more is that he threw him in a cell with his brother....who is ALSO a powerful force user. If he publicly executed him he would not have died. A complete fool.
Even It's somewhat funny and ironic when Vizsla said he had no interest in the neutral systems to Maul cause In "A Friend in Need" he was on a neutral planet (Carlac) just raiding/burning down villages and playfully destroy defenseless droids they can find in the junkyard on some Ice Planet, for the hell of it. It just makes me hate Vizsla for how much of a complete zealot scumbag he was in this series, especially both his, Death Watch and Bo-Katan's bigotry against the Jedi and Sith while saying the same quote or vice-versa ("Jedi are no Better than Sith", "Sith are no Better than Jedi", etc, etc, etc.), which goes back as to why Filoni and his crew ever made "A Friend in Need" in the first place if literally once we see Vizsla and his group again in Season 5, they made *NO MENTION* of their events on Carlac and after he conquers Mandalore following their ousting of Duchess Satine he says to Maul "I have no interest in the neutral systems"? If "A Friend in Need" didn't existed then his quote would make sense why he had no interest in the other neutral systems. So he's a Scumbag for sure.
Ernesto Chacon Yeah Vizla Is Cool But hes an Asshole, i bet the old mandalorians wouldnt approve of his backstabbing Ways .. And I Hate How Everyone Praises Bo as if she was a good Person.. All the fans seem to forget she burned an entire village for 0 reason 🙄 And Her Argument In this makes no sense
I feel like the guys should have noted that unlike Maul, Visla wasn't being honorable. He cheated by using blasters, rockets, and saw blades, while Maul only used his lightsaber, hand-to-hand, and the force to block the blaster bolts. Maul also forced Visla into a situation where Maul wins either way. Visla refuses, he looks weak and loses followers, Visla accepts, he enters a battle that he cannot win. Also, you can see the disappointment for the darksaber when Maul ignites it next to his face.
I’m pretty sure Mandalore has been pacifist for longer than a generation. In the episode that Obi-Wan first visited Mandalore Satine mentioned that the warriors of her people had been banished to the moon of Concordia, and that they had been gone long enough that she believed they had died out some time ago. I think the episode may have mentioned a vague time frame for them dying out in terms of centuries or maybe just decades, but it would have had to be longer than that. Since Deathwatch used to be an official part of society I’m sure Almec’s(?) participation in the organization would not have been kept quiet prior to their banishment because they were proud people. It leads me to believe that the Deathwatch were secretly keeping their traditions alive down through several generations at least, and working to insert those who had leadership potential into Concordia’s government which was why Almec (is that how you spell it?) was the moon’s governor. For people like Bo Katan to join the Deathwatch in this scenario it was probably the kind of story where she was looking for some sense of purpose and managed to find Deathwatch where she rose to prominence due to her dedication to their cause. This is speculation of course, I don’t know if there was some official backstory, but I think this makes more sense than Deathwatch being recently banished, particularly because of how they are described as remnants of the past rather than something like rebels refusing to recognize a new government administration.
There's no way the issue with the lightsabers being gray is to make the show more child friendly, considering lightsaber fights before and after this episode had the blades bright white. I bet it's a rendering or lighting issue of some kind (Rebels had the same problem every now and then), and the animation team was just too close to their production deadlines on the episode to go back and fix it.
I think Bo-Katan was right, yeah Maul did change him to single combat but at the end of the day Maul follows the code of the Sith not the Mandalorian creed which both may value strength the Sith have no honor. Plus considering this show was written back when legends was the only canon, there’s like 3-4 examples of the sith ruining the Mandalorian’s day in the old republic era.
I really hate to say this but Satine was kind of incompent. The entire pacifist mandalorian thing didn’t make any sense. You can’t force a people to turn their back on their entire history, both good and bad, and expect any good to come of it. Instead of learning from their history and making a better future, Satine chose to just abandon it. She could’ve unified the mandalorians into a standing army and brought stability and purpose to their preference for mercenary and bounty Hunter work. Instead for fighting for the sake of violence, they could’ve fought for peace or the very least they could’ve protected Mandalore but instead she left Mandalore open to attack. She created the perfect environment for a group like Death Watch to rise up. I admire someone who sticks to their beliefs in dire situations. I really do. But when the choice comes down to your intangible principles versus the very tangible lives of the people you're responsible for, as a leader, it's your obligation to throw off that naive, self-righteous idiocy keeping you sitting in your chair and do what's necessary to protect them. Your principles should never come before the greater good of thousands of people.

I knew the Duchess was a pacifist but not arming her own security forces with lethal weapons is stupid crazy! Even Costa Rica which doesn't have an official army arms its own police forces with lethal weapons.
7:04 I think Rick is the Sith Lord we've been looking for. :P
Palpatine: I'm about to end this man's whole career
next week boys. one of the best episodes of the show
Seeing this fight now, after seeing Maul's battle with Ahsoka here, it really shows how amazing that fight is, and how dated this one looks in comparison.
For Mandalore!
Executing the former leader after you beat them.
And *that* kind of tradition is exactly why the Death Watch are no true Mandalorians.
Pre Vizla: "This sword has killed numerous jedi"
Yeah but you not. You have lost every fucking fight lol
I feel like the reason Bo Katan didn't accept Maul is simply because he didn't live by the creed of being Mandalorian (details of which are screwed all to hell between EU and Canon)
Can’t wait for “The Lawless”
I caught up with your reactions on CLone wars in about 2 weeks pls upload more xD
Next episode is gonna BLOW YOU AWAY
1 more week boys
Why does it say this comment is from 6 days ago????
Heb The Alien patreon
Ohhh makes sense
Pre visla is the best non force sensitive lightsaber duelist I've seen. Maul's No Joke.
Oh please if you guys haven't, react to "Kenobi by cinema fan productions"
After next week's episode! We can't give them spoilers...
@@hebthealien Oh right, because it has some parts from further in the series. as well as from the other cartoon series that is further in the timeline
Maybe Eric and Aaron could react to it since they've already seen The Clone Wars and Rebels
9:49 A quote I unknowingly started a year before it was quoted in other comments
Long story
I would like to hear it
Can’t wait for next weeks episode
We are almost there everyone...
Good soldiers follow orders good soldiers follow orders good soldiers follow orders
Ashoka! get Away from those clones!
I guess he's "Post"-Vizsla now!
Never understood how Maul is the traitor, he won fair and square. He even restrained himself from using the force
U know, Satine never seems to get a break
Pre Vizla is now post vizla
Nobody finds it sus that the biggest crime groups all of a sudden started full on attacks in the city at the same time
Sidious ain't gonna be too happy about this, boys.
I wish the sequels were about Maul being the new Emperor of the galaxy and creating a new empire using the Mandalorians.
They learned alot from Syndrom here lol
I feel like the guys should have noted that unlike Maul, Visla wasn't being honorable. He cheated by using blasters, rockets, and saw blades, while Maul only used his lightsaber, hand-to-hand, and the force to block the blaster bolts.
Maul also forced Visla into a situation where Maul wins either way. Visla refuses, he looks weak and loses followers, Visla accepts, he enters a battle that he cannot win.
Also, you can see the disappointment for the darksaber when Maul ignites it next to his face.
The New Mandalorians (pacifist Mandalore) was around for about 720 years before its dissolution.
I CHALLENGE YOU!! ONE WARRIOR TO ANOTHER AND ONLY THE STRONGEST SHALL RULE MANDALORE!!
I miss shane :(
Same, but the man has a wife and kids, let's salute him when he returns
9:32 Clever censorship.
REALLY was the best part from U blind wave 😂
I miss the hour long videos the fellas used to do of the Clone Wars. These episodes are way too short . I Need More!
Whelp. Quarantine is still going on so you can’t blame them. The rest of their reactions to the series is probably gunna be like this.
The shadow collective
There's no way the issue with the lightsabers being gray is to make the show more child friendly, considering lightsaber fights before and after this episode had the blades bright white. I bet it's a rendering or lighting issue of some kind (Rebels had the same problem every now and then), and the animation team was just too close to their production deadlines on the episode to go back and fix it.
Next fight is pretty good I’d have to say
Knowing what ends up happening in that throne room.......😏
what happened to the crime syndicate after the empire
Noticed how Maul is giving people the option instead of out right just killing them Maul being fair
Not to mention Maul want to have the Mandalorians as tools of Revenge against Obi-Wan, the Jedi, Dooku and the Separatists.
Can we all agree that bo should have kneelt
Why would some of the Nite Owls side with Maul?
I shocked that you guy’s haven’t reviewed the Harley Quinn animated show!!
