@@essyvamp I don't believe that's true. The ingredients for breaking the curse at the sacrifice are the moonstone, a witch to do the spell, a werewolf, a vampire, and a doppelgänger. Klaus was originally going to sacrifice Caroline until Damon ruined his plan, Jenna was his backup. Both Salvatore brothers tried to offer up themselves but one was defective and the other he had other plans for. No one ever said anything about the age the vampire needed to be. And since the sacrifice had to happen at the birthplace of the doppelganger, Klaus just used the supernatural beings around Elena, which could have included Katherine.
I love that Elena always searches for answers and tries to do something about the situation despite being a human. She was smart in how she got information out of Katherine. The scene where she blames herself for everything happening is sad to me bc it’s not her fault, she was born a doppelgänger. The one thing she cares about is her loved ones and Katherine just told her how Klaus will go after everybody she loves. The scene with Elijah and the coins is one of my favorites, idk it was just cool to see the whole window shatter just from him throwing them. Also, finding out that Elijah can compel other vampires was insane. How intimidated/scared of Klaus all these older vampires are speaks volumes. They can’t easily get in contact with him and yet he still has them running in fear and looking for a way to negotiate their ‘freedom’. Love the way this show explores lore, and really like the focus on Katherine this episode. Elijah breaking the window is a great entrance. Some good character pair ups this episode, alot of fun or intresting dynamics going on. So excited for the rest of this season.
Elijah shattering the window with loose change so effortlessly.. damn. In the books, it revealed that Katherine was sired by Klaus. After all these years, how did Rose not know that the Originals couldn't be killed? Who was the father of Katherine's baby?
there is no difference between a witch and a warlock, luca just told bonnie that they prefer that term instead of witch but they’re still the same supernatural being😉 this is one of my favorite episodes of the whole show, ninas acting as elena and katherine literally just having dialogue with herself is so amazing. I absolutely LOVE the flashbacks in this episode and how they show that once upon a time katherine was also just a scared 17 yo girl until she found out about her supernatural ”destiny”.
So from past episodes in season one we saw when Bonnie touched stefan, she saw death. When she touched katherine she knew it wasn’t elena. When she touched mason she saw Katherine’s face. When stefan was looking for Bonnie in season 1 he went to her grams house and shook her hand and grams said “you shook my hand because you wanted me to see I could trust you” so it wasn’t just because Bonnie was family with Lucy. What I assumed from the episode is that she felt familiarity in the fact that he’s a witch when she shook his hand and she obviously didn’t see anything else at the time but he wanted her to see that they’re alike.
i took it as: turning off ur emotions = letting the blood list take over everything and drown it out. after a long ass time that just doesn’t cut it anymore and your emotions start coming out
No. Turning off your emotions doesn't mean you let the blood lust take over. If anything it could help control it just much. It just means you don't care, so when you fees there is no fear of being caught (you don't care to just eat, heal and erase) abd there is no care for the human life ( don't care to keep them alive), but if your blood lust is tied to your emotions then not feeling could give you control because you aren't ruled by your emotions.
I think Rose just meant after some time the switch fades. So at 500 years if you turn it off, then you still feel but not as intensely so you can better pretend not to care but there feelings are there. So if you are in pain, you dull it a bit but.its still there. And we see this with Katherine. She cares but she can better filter her emotions so they don't get in the way. While a new vamp can turn it off completely and not even feel
To me the humanity switch is about dealing with your emotions. When we are young you don't know how to deal with frustration, anger and stuff so we ignore it expecting it will desappear but the older we get the more we know that we have to deal with our emotions. It's about emotional maturity and self-knowlege.
