@@mtcondie armorers also don’t know anything out side of what was taught to them at their MOS school. Over cleaning damages weapons.
Good info
Most people are going to Aquire weapons from "Battle field pickup"!
If I came across one of these in the wild the first thing I would do is grab it and start running to a hiding place
Take it and the hidden tracker STRAIGHT to your safe house. 😅
Bro what made you come to that conclusion? And I know enough to notice if there was a tracker lmfao that's goofy as fuck
Indeed, it will just be written off as a loss by the owners. Stealing from the government? Megabased.
@@loadedwhenupmore likely that you pick it up and get belly shot by a sharpshooter. Your both goofy. If there are m249s just rolling around you ain't safe anymore and there is no "safe house", because you are on a battlefield.
As a armorer you should close the top cover before riding the bolt forward it prevents potential damage.
I was trained to watch it go home on an empty chamber. To be fair I was also trained to look down and away when clearing a belt fed weapon system.
Ah yes. Don't forget the near pointless sweep of the feed tray, and continue to sweep the feed tray in between every other movement.
if you haven't been trained on a weapon like this. It is the least effective and most cumbersome thing you can grab, your better bet would be to chuck it in a truck and use it as trading currency. Not to mention the need to spare barrels/parts & large amounts of ammo that'll all be needed to be found and acquired and transported. Go for something more you skill range, an untrained person with one of these will hurt themselves or their team faster than the "enemy." Oh and lets not forget how often a weapon like this will fail, misfire, misfeed, jam (EACH OF WHICH can have fatal results for the operator of the weapon) and just generally be a paper weight if not properly maintained. Then you can get into the complexities of properly using a weapon like, because it is far different from anything you are expecting.
I really have absolutely no idea in what circumstance I might come across one of these… no idea at all huehuehue
When SHTF and my Army Reserve Platoon has to draw weapons from the unit to stave off an invasion, WE WILL be looking for local vets or knowledgeable citizens to assist.
@@blackhawk7r221 Who has the capacity to invade the USA? Nobody bro.
@@untraceablefgc-9mkii251 Due to us and those like us.
@@blackhawk7r221more likely that you will aquire one from the hands of passed away soldiers, who thought defending tyranny was part of their oath. But in that case you gotta survive one to use it.
@@grizzlyblackpowder1960 Tyranny? Clearly you have never traveled the world.
One can dream about finding one in the wild. Appreciate the video.
Then it's brass to the grass
It's brass to the sky
@@M_White_VAyeah it is. If you want the gun to go clunk, and you spend the next 10 minutes dragging links and bent cartridges out of the chamber.
@@grizzlyblackpowder1960 he probably works for one of those really "competent" federal agencies that load theirs that way 😂. That cute little rhyme is so you don't fuck it up under stress, but I think I'm probably preaching to the choir lol
@@grizzlyblackpowder1960 At this point there are still a few in the federal government that take their oath to the Constitution seriously. I feel bad for them because they must feel like a fish swimming upstream every day they go into work. I'm praying for them & our country
Thanks for the quick vid. I found one in the dumpster the other day and wanted to see how I could set it up for future purposes.
I love the “tactically acquire”… as opposed to just randomly coming across one of these out in the wild… would love to see what would happen if you dropped one of these as is in the middle of a street in Compton
I feel like the vast majority of people watching this video live in some safe American suburb; just waiting to have their “operator” moment.
@jonathansutton1447 I’d take this gun lying around would make me think cartel, in which case I’m leaving and didn’t see anything.
Desire for destruction percolated through seemingly all types of people in modernity
These comments read like somebody who doesn't even know how to handle a firearm. They really think they can take on the military
@@timisontube I meant having a LMG lying around. Those are illegal for American citizen to privately own, so whatever is going down, it’s where I don’t want to be.
@@mvslice Yea I getcha. I think this desire for an "operator moment" isn't (just) a desire to be the cool hero, but out of some amount of dislike for the status quo. not just desire for violence, but a specific worldview - these types give off major civil war/insurrectiony vibes to me.
Thank you for showing me this. I can't wait until I get one to practice with.
When I tactically acquire an M249 in the woods, this will be a great help!
Carried one for two years.
Lots of fun at the range. 👍
Simplicity, is the key to perfection.
“If and When” is gonna be either one of the worst days or best days of my life.
Dont forget to fire in short bursts to improve accuracy, keep the barrel cool for prolong engagement, and conserve ammo.
the two fingers in the port is the best part
Man, I wish I had seen this the first few times I found a SAW in the wild. Now I feel like a fool
I found mine on a beach, I think someone lost it in a boating accident 😂
Might be worthwhile investing in scuba gear.
got away didnt they.
If you know or suspect that the weapon was recently fired you should keep your head down when opening the top hatch and sweeping the feed tray and chamber clear.
We’re trained to always do that on open bolt machine guns just in case there’s a cartridge stuck in the chamber that can cook off.
This should be a mini series with all different type of guns that people may own
Homie forgot to look away in case a round cooks off, but i’ll let it slide
Don't forget to look away when you open it. I got drilled for not looking away while opening it. I guess brass can fling out. Good video
Thank you Sir for that important info.... I really truly hope I "tactically acquire" a SAW in that exact setup one day!! Oh please God please oh please oh please 😮🙏
That's why two of the guys in my "bug out squad" are an Army vet who ran LMGs and a Marine Vet/ former SWAT guy. So there's likely very little equipment we could tactically acquire that we couldn't use. Also know a dude who makes mounts for M2s and owns several as well as 500k+ rounds of .50 BMG.
I always wanted to know how to open the top cover. Thanks! I love the saw.
My son was a “SAW man” while deployed to Afghanistan. He loved this weapon & said it got him & his troops out of many a bad situation!
This video is super helpful I just tactically acquired on from the Taliban for real cheap and wanted to learn more so this was a decent aid
Need a couple of these at the southern boarder.
Nothing about mowing down unarmed and innocent humans seems very patriotic to me. The only crime they are committing would be illegal entry.
That warrants murdering people? Yikes
Syrian drug market is estimated to be 5x that of the Mexican cartels for Saudi and UAE destinations. Somebody had to build the World Cup stadium in record time
So relatable 😂😂, like have u ever gone hiking and found a modern military grade LMG behind a bush? Happens to me everytime💀
It's like he's teaching us how to act around a crocodile I love it
This was my issue when I was in the corps. Fun weapon, but it jams like freaking crazy no matter how well you maintain it. I would spend hours outside the armory inspecting and cleaning it and then giving it back to the armory and have them inspect it.
An M40 from H1Z1 that's all you need . I just love that sound .
If anyone is wondering! Yes you can buy this gun it’s called M249c, Atlantic firearms has them for sale for 11k
This man has been Strategically Transferring Equipment to Alternate Locations.
Ooh, I haven’t heard the phrase “tactfully acquire” since my marines days! Yut!!
I had the honour of firing one of these bad boys @ Battlefield Vegas, it was one hell of an experience! 🤘🏻
Ah sweet know I know how to use one of those if I tactically acquire one during the upcoming apocalypse
Currently a conscript in estonian defense forces. MG3 machine gunner. Pretty cool how that machine gun is handled literally the same way as MG3. Like, i could grab it and instantly be able to use it with ease
I LOVE THE S.A.W. great weapon. I'm also a HUGE fan. of it's big brother M-240B
Man that ACOG setup is looking NICE 💰
I carried the saw for 4 years, it tickled me pink that he actually held the bolt back manually rather than setting the safety and trusting it to hold, you only need to nearly lose the tip of your finger to an accidental release once to learn that lesson properly
beautiful piece of machinery, i can appreciate it
