Winson is a village located in Gloucestershire, England.
Winson is situated in the Cotswold District, known for its picturesque countryside, charming villages, and historic architecture. Like many villages in the Cotswolds, Winson likely has a rich history dating back centuries, with its roots likely tracing back to medieval times or even earlier.
The parish church, St Michael's, stands in centre the village and dates to before the mid-12th century

Sunday Blessings to you Kevin! One thing I started doing with your videos is being from the States, I will look at your title to see the name of the village you are walking through and look it up on the internet. I learned Winson has a population around 185 people and its church St. Michaels dates to before the mid 12th century. And that Winson Manor is a grade II building built in around 1740 for Richard Howse, who was a surgeon general. Such a quite beautiful village. And looking at those headstones around that church and realizing just how old some of them must be is just mind blowing! I love it when I can hear those birds chirping early on your quite morning walks... except those crows...LOL!
The crows certainly had a lot to say about Kevin intruding on their territory!

I go Walking,Biking,Hiking and metal detecting around England and i go into church yards and look at the gravestone (Yup I'm weird) And I found a headstone which i could just about read the inscription and it was a woman's grave who was born in 1580 and died in 1641 that's my earliest one I've found..
@@Secretorder13 Wow, you think what the world was like back in 1580 how life was so mind numbing different back then. Here in the states, it blows my mind thinking of how people lived in one room log cabins with dirt floors. just conjuring up what life must have been like back then. But when Kevin shows these churches with these gravestones going back to the date you mention, I just want to know more about what each of those individuals' life was like. Just love history.

I wonder, have you ever had anyone ask you what you are doing walking around making videos? When my sister & I visit small New England towns we like to walk thru old cemeteries. Such old head stones, short lives or very long lives, quite interesting. Thanks for such soothing videos

@@clairenoon4070thanks, I thought so too but still it was too silent. Well, that's still a desired character - to be silent and minding our own business. Something rare in the urban dwellings.
The X is for the bowing out of the bricks you put a bar right through the front and it comes out the back of the house and you put that X on and screw it untill the bricks are straight again
About how old are those houses?
They’re from around 14th-16th century.So around 500-600 years
And the churches are from around 600-1000 years old..
