Janet Baker is my all-time favorite singer! I have a large collection of classical CD's and I have tried to collect as many Janet Baker CD's as possible. There are many wonderful excerpts of her singing here on youtube.
Dame Janet Baker is one of the finest singers who has ever enchanted this earth. Her diction is excellent barring a slight mispronunciation upon rare ocasions, or, might it be the indistinct quality of RUclips's playback? Her German is remarkablely beautiful in both her Bach and Schubert and her French is lovely, too. The cadence of the piece should be guaged by the melody; the majesty of Bach is frequently turned into funereal music by dramatic interpreters. Not here, magnificient!
DieSonneSinkt (DieSonnesinkt!), hopefully this is all you have to complain about! Janet Baker with this wonderful aria in a most emotional manner! Richter's interpretation and "speed" - the best ever!
Esta mágica música no es de este mundo, bach tenía diálogo directo con Dios, era música para Dios, (no soy religioso seguidor de religión alguna pero si entiendo perfectamente el significado de lo divino)
I dont mean to be off topic but does any of you know a trick to get back into an Instagram account..? I somehow forgot my password. I appreciate any assistance you can give me
As much I love this gorgeous lady and her interpretations, I have to admit that I still prefer Hamari's version with perhaps less nuances but with more peaceful phrasing and emotion alongside a mournful pulse.

She is simply wonderful. teh best singer i've ever heard. Thanks for posting this material.
Lo más hermoso que haya escuchado en mi vida. Ni siquiera es necesario entender la letra para caer tendido. Sublime.
I am in love with Janet Baker

Absolute perfection.
WOW!
I like this version very much and love Janet Baker, but you should try Christa Luwig's version with Klemperer.

a tad faster than Richter's performance with Hamari and better for it I think!

Me too
Both are wonderful in their own way
