Once upon a time, the NHL team your username reveals you support didn't suck. They had a captain who spent his entire career in red and white; their arena was christened "HOCKEYTOWN"; the most sought after UFA's wanted to go there, and for good reason - 6 SC Final appearances over 12 seasons, 4 of which they won the Cup and dominated their opponents (4-0, 4-0, 4-1, 4-2).
But what was so annoying was the amount of bandwagon fans this team had in every city. Between one-third and half the crowd in the home team's crib for games hosting the Red Wings were Red Wings fans. It was a phenom that I thought would never be seen again...until now.
The VGK are the team most envied around the league, and we gladly welcome and thank all the bandwagoners for outdoing the Red Wings fans from the Scotty B/Stevie Y era. If you were around then, then you know. If not, then take this bit of advice from someone who was...

One of the biggest 2023 SC Playoff moments for me, which I will never forget, was seeing Jack strip the puck from McDavid in the waning seconds of game one of that series, and firing the puck down 180' into the empty net to seal the victory. Years of unfair comparisons and smack talking about McDavid being the far superior player disappeared in that moment, and in fact, Eichel was the better player in that series.
