That line you said "dont go buy everything unless youre sure you want to do this for a long time" smart as hell
Just speaking the truth. Screen printing isn’t for everyone. But it can be if you really keep at it and have lots of patience
You gave me more info on building an exposure unit than anyone on RUclips thanks bro 3:16
I do what I can. Thanks
Literally subscribed instantly when you said, "Yo, what up everybody?" I knew then it would be real
I have to be myself no matter what. Thanks for watching
Love your video! Straight to the point!! Thank you!
really great video bro, thank you!!
Thx for the tips bro :) I was working on a similar video.
Props man ya gotta show love for the do it yourselfers.
Yes sir all day. We got to show these veterans that you don’t have to spend $10,000 to screen print
Thank you! Great video!!!
Thank you this helped me and saved me a lot of money
That’s what I’m trying to do. Help everyone save money. As I did myself
you're almost at 400 subs !! congrats
Thanks. I think I’m doing a giveaway video on one of my next videos
Thanks for the video great content and you broke it down for all the DIY’ers out here. I just built my frame now and found a 500 watt work light at Harbor Freight near me. I hope to be burning screens by tonight. Just subscribed to your page man👍👍👍
Thanks for watching. I’m doing what I can. Did you get to burn some screens?
@@RobDiazTv , I haven’t been able to get them to come out at all man. I believe my issue is my prints, I had them printed at Office Depot and when I hold them up to the light too much light is getting through. I’m going over them with a sharpie first to see if it helps, if not I have to find another print alternative. Thanks for the help💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
@@Cee_Four maybe try printing twice and stack the prints.
Hell ya thanks man!!
No problem 👍. I have more videos coming very soon
thanks for this video, love from the Philippines
Thanks for watching my video. I hope you subscribed
Video very helpful 💯💯💯
Countup Black thank you. And thanks for subscribing. I really appreciate it
Hi im from Philippines. This is a great help and a good idea for me wanting to start silkscreen printing. Much love♥️
Thanks for watching. It doesn’t take much to start out. And little by little you can upgrade
Nice vid man thank you
Thanks. Just here to help
@@RobDiazTv Do you think it would work with a 500W LED instead of a halogen bulb?
thankyou so much for this video, i ve been struggling lately to burn my screen , im excited to wake up tomorrow to try to burn it again and make it happen!!!
You’re welcome. Did you end up trying it out?
yepp ! ive been doing shirt and building up my own brand since then !my exposing time been weird lately since its getting colderr, i came back to this video to see what was yours just to be sure you were saying 5;30 🤣@@RobDiazTv
That's all I need to do this
Yes this is all you need
Subscribed! Def gonna try this out bro. How long do u think a 200 mesh will take?
gianni corpuz I just burned a 230 mesh at 5 minutes 30 seconds. But it was real hot in the shop when I did it. Try it at that time and let me know how it goes. Thanks for the sub
Hi Rob.. First, thank you for helping out with sharing such an informative video. I would like to know how thick is the foam you are using as well as what are the inches of the two pieces of wood that are attached the foam & cardboard. Again Thank you!
I don’t know why some comments I’m barely seeing. But it’s the height from the bottom of exposure unit to the screen mesh
“The beer virus” made me smile. Thanks for the diy video. How do you like the Vevor press? Good fortune with your business!
The press is a great starting point. It’s great for one color prints and it’s ok for 2 colors. But passed 2 colors gets a little tricky.
Which heat press do you Recomend?
Your cool brother. I subscribed
I really appreciate it that bro.
I build my own exposure unit like that one, if you put your mesh horizontal is better, for me works better, Good video!
I’m going to try that. Thanks. What time are you burning the 160 mesh screens?
@@RobDiazTv around 1:50 to 2:00 min.
Did you take the safety glass off the work light?
@@RobDiazTv yes
RobDiazTv is the glass off your light rob?
nice video! thanks - will plexiglass work okay do you think? instead of actual glass
I’m sorry I didn’t see your comment. You can try it and let me know how it works out. But it has to be absolutely clear and see through to work best. And thank you
Subscriber #466 here!
yo. good video thank you. so is the idea that the foam pushes up the screen just a little bit to make a better connection with the glass which pushes the transparency closer to the mesh?
Yea that’s right. Just took some foam and pieces of wood to make that
hell yeah
Do you live in TX? I'm in Mckinney trying to see if I should go up 30 Sec on the exposure time my image burns and washes out but not to where I can apply ink and print
get this light from Amazon and it cuts the time down to 15 to 20 seconds.
QUANS 50W Ultra Violet UV LED Light for Curing Glue Blacklight
Thanks. I’m going to try it out
I subbed!!!
I really appreciate that
Beer Virus!!! I'm 💀 🤣
Ya me suscribe
Muchas gracias
great! thanks how strong is your light?
Thanks. 500 watt halogen work light. I have the link to Amazon in the description
@@RobDiazTv thank you. all the best
@@RobDiazTv sorry Rob I am very new in this process. I found the lamp just one more question how long you expose the screen normally?
What if u do it outside under a canopy with tarp covering perimeter
It should be fine. Try it out and let me know how it goes
I wish u good luck
Thank you
Hi from Las Vegas NV
I appreciate you for watching
Would this potentially work for oversized screens??
I’ve never tried it with bigger screens. It’s possible. Just make the bottom wider and the lamp higher
I have a 150w halogen lamp wil that wrk or longer exposure time
Longer exposure time. Start with like 12 mins and see how that works out.
RobDiazTv shoot brother!! I’ll give that ago!!
How long should you burn with this light if you use speedball emulsion
I would start with 5 and a half minutes and work it from there.
I just built mine yesterday off a kenyonken tutorial do you need to remove the glass for the screen to record properly?????
Kenyonken has good videos. You do not have to remove the glass but you can. It shortens the burn time if you remove it.
You do. The glass keeps UV light from coming through and the UV rays are what will dry your emulsion
the beer virus lmao!
Thanks for watching. I had to say it.
Thanks for watching. I had to say it.
What is the foam used for ? Is it necessary?
I seen other screen printers with this same set up and they don’t use the foam and it works fine for them
What size was the foam that u used??
21”x17”
So the bulb that came with the light i can use for screen printing?
Yes. It’s the one I have been using for almost 3 years
@@RobDiazTv Alright appreciate it. Just built mine yesterday. Everything came out good. Goodlookin bro
Does the black foam under the screen touch the actual screen
Yea it does.
Hey whats up my man? I built a exposure unit but my image is not burning on the screen I put the emulsion on there what do you think can be the problem?
It could be to much emulsion. It could be that your stencil isn’t dark enough it causing it not to expose the image.
Beer virus! Still funny!
What kind of like is that bro? What is it called
It’s a work light I got off Amazon. I have the link in the description
When i start to wash of the screen the emulsion starts to wash off this is my first time doing this what am i doing wrong?
How long do you let your emulsion dry on screen before you burn?
Yo what size screen you use bro for your prints?
Size 20x24. My regular mesh count I use for little detail images is 160.
@@RobDiazTv appreciate it take it easy g
what cain a lights watts
500 watt work like. I got it off Amazon
Is this good for halftones? 💬
I’ve tried halftones 1 times with this. Your really need to just play with the time. It’s definitely possible.
how many watts is ur light?
500 watts
Can you over burn?
Yes. Underexposed your image will blow out. Overexposed your image will be difficult to wash out.
Hi I’m going to use a 160mesh using this exact same set up do you think I should use the same 5:30 time ?
Yes. Let me know how it comes out
Hey, I have a 1000w LED light, any idea on exposure time roughly? Cheers !
I would try half of my time. So if I do 6 mins with the 500w. You should try 3 mins
@@RobDiazTv Thanks man!
No problem. Let me know how that works for you
@@RobDiazTv What about a 100W LED light? what do you reckon exposure time would roughly be on that?
I’ve never tried that one. The way I do it is. I use a black poster piece. I start with 1 min. Then cover part of the design then let it keep burning for 2 mins and then cover more of the image and so forth. On my “ how to screen print from home”video I explain better. If you want to check that video out
Beer virus 😂
Damn bro you goin' on and on about some screws......
What size glass
Mines a 16x16. But I would have preferred to get a 19x20
@@RobDiazTv can you send a link where you bought the glass? If not no worries!
I got it at ace hardware. They will cut out the size you want
Nice bro thanks I really needed this 🫡
No problem. I really appreciate you watching
