Visiting Sandy Lane Hotel, 24 hours in Barbados | Travel Vlog

- We arrived in Barbados yesterday evening. Today was our only full day on the Caribbean island and we were determined to make the most of it. We hired a car from Drive-A-Matic Car Rental Barbados which proved to be the perfect way to see Barbados.
From our lovely hotel, The Little Arches Boutique Hotel, we travelled to the famous west coast. We had lunch at Sandy Lane Hotel before exploring a range of gorgeous Barbados beaches including Sandy Lane Beach Barbados and Miami Beach Barbados.
If you are visiting Barbados, I definitely recommend hiring a car from Drive-A-Matic Car Rental. The staff were amazing and as you can see from the vlog, I was so pleased with the car!

I’ve stayed at Sandy Lane before, and it was amazing! The chicken curry was delicious and the pink theme was luxurious and classy. I even saw Simon Cowell!

Love the colour grading in this!! The warm oranges and saturated greens work really well for the context!! Those beaches are simply to die for but i think my favourite thing of this film would be all the foods, i'm sat here salivating!!

The coastline and beaches look beautiful, that wave section was stressful though! So cool to see the contrasts of the landscape, definitely worth having the car just to see that. Oh, Barbados! I love it there so much. I've gone to the beach and done some snorkeling there. I'd love to spend a little more time there than only a day from a cruise ship. Renting a car seems like the perfect way to see the island!

Beautiful video, amazing editing. I sometimes avoid videos longer than 10-12 minutes but this one just flew by. I've made a few myself and always feel guilty. Not a moment of boredom or felt I had to 'sit thorough' stuff. You both surely crept through the eye of a needle as far as that storm was concerned. Loved the car. It's the sort of vehicle I'd like to hire too.

I also considered splitting it into 2 but felt the storyline would be lost. I'm glad you think it worked this way :) I try to avoid making long videos!
@@EllaMcKendrick I understand only too well. It's a constant struggle. I've just completed one which is just on the 12 minute mark. An ode to my dad. Will post shortly. Not a travel video but hopefully will be well received.
I’ve been lucky enough in my life to go to sandy lane hotel 3 times and it is 100% my favourite place on this earth... love it

So when you said he couldn’t swim I was already scared of what was going to happen next. But I’m glad he was able to redeem himself. But afterwards I wondered what time of year you were there and the end of my video answered my question. You can usually find cheaper flights to the Caribbean during hurricane season but it’s just something I can’t risk. Looking forward to seeing the next video!
I learnt that lesson the hard way 😪 hurricane season is a big no no for visiting the Caribbean and September (when we went) is apparently the worst month in hurricane season.
Wow, you did a lot in just 24 hours! The beginning with the wave was a bit scary, and also the cliffhanger end. We have never thought about going to Barbados but your video makes us curious! Seems to be a good thing to rent a car there and explore!

We are not big beach guys in general and therefore don't know the Caribbean that well and have never been to Barbados. Thanks for all the tips if we ever decide to go there. That lunch place at 6:30 looked amazing!

Hell yeah! Barbados. I know it's out of no where, but we just watched the episodes of Friend in Barbados. Long story short, it look pretty smooth over there! I hope you enjoyed it to the maximum!

What an adventure with the different weather. It looks a bit dark sometimes, like still good enough weather to explore the place but as you discovered even if the sea looks calm not the best place for swimming. It seems you did so much in 24 hours.
We sure had to make the most of it seeing as it was our only day there!

That's great that I could help give you ideas. The roti was delicious! I absolutely loved it. Cafe Blue was lovely overall. The staff were so helpful and both courses were delicious. Plus the view was fab :) Do you have a trip to Barbados booked?

I stayed in sandy lane for 2 weeks last year its pretty special (and before someone says posh my parents know someone who co-owns it aha)
It is pretty special! I'd love to actually stay there. Bet it was super relaxing. I loved how friendly the staff were.

Its been too long since I've been. 3 times. I would love to live there. I just might do it. Its just cool. I cried when l left first time. Felt like it was me all over, like l belong.

@@EllaMcKendrick oh yeah. 20 years ago, l walked into a tiny blues bar shack on the Gap. Never anyone in. Although l loved it. The guy that owned it let me play the stereo sticking blues on all night. Told me his name was lennox cool. I was only a young kid, l went 3 years on the trot. Taking a different woman with me each time. He thought l was mad. He even held a party for me back at his house when it was my birthday. Anyway, when l got to know him better, he told me his real name was Lennox Jackson and its just a character he plays for the tourists. Anyway l found out yesterday that he still owns a bar on the gap, but now it seems he's built up large bar and club, with live music, food the works. So pleased he made a real go of it. And I've seen a photo of him. Just the same. Pork pie hat and wayfarers. Amazing the Internet.

Lovely video but its not £3000 a night to stay at Sandy Lane. Possibly at Christmas time but all other times its around $1500usd a night at a stretch
I got a quote from their website which gave me the price but yes it was for December-time. Not quite Christmas though.
