This is so comforting to me today as I find out about a friend who struggled with depression and ended his own life. I knew him as one who loved the Lord deeply and did not know of his inner struggles. Thank you for posting this beautiful setting of this meaningful prayer. May it be a blessing to many on their life journey.
I often find myself coming back to this song. The first time I heard it, I thought I had a good understanding of it, but I found that I was looking at it from the wrong perspective. I'm not the one leading you, rather you're the one leading me, and you're the one guiding me through all of my struggles and helping me up when I stumble. This song brought me to tears, it's just so wonderful to have it put into music. It's so important and so wonderful to have someone to help you up and help pull you through the darkness. Things do get better, and the stars will soon return as the rain fades away. Brilliant, brilliant work, Elaine, I very much appreciate this piece along with many other works of yours.
Such a beautiful song. I heard it sung this week by the IA State Opus honor choir, 7th and 8th grade girls, just lovely. I found it here and loved it again.
It's good people find their own meanings in this song but this just is a Christian song. "Though I may stumble in my going. Though I may stumble you do not fall". People fall and fail all the time but God never does. I hope people understand that when listening to this song. God bless.
the recording I think. It's not "present" enough, the piano is drowning them out and therefore you can't understand the words . The piece is certainly deserving of a more professional recording.
If it wasn't for stupid Corona I would've had my spring concert in March. This was one of the pieces too, it's beautiful.
A little piece of heaven right here on earth.
