At the height of his power, Dostum controlled six provinces in the north of Afghanistan, and commanded an extraordinary following amongst his people, who named him Pasha - "the King". A rare glimpse of one of the most resilient of the opposition commanders.

For those who didnt know, when the Taliban enters Kabul few days ago, they found General Dostum's house as well as dozens of treasure (yes a literally treasure inside his house). long story short, they eventually mocking the generals' coward manner by taking photo using his uniform with its tons of medals

Strong man but not a good man , always changing his interests and his alliances. Killed many Muslims just on ethnic grounds which is forbidden in Islam. Not a good afghan National either cause he usally always put interests of his Uzbek clan above Afghanistan’s. So now that he is out of the scene, it’s not really a big loss for afghans.

@@Starburst7641 In 1996 10% of the country until 2001 was rule by the Northern Alliance which he was boss and the other 90% the Taliban, however when the Taliban was routed, naturally the old Northern Alliance areas were intergrated. Now the Afghan resistance doesn't even have that. They have a small pocket north east of Kabul, nothing like back in the 90s.

There will be another civil war, even if Taliban succeed for few years. This place is going to have conflicts for a long time. Country should divide according to ethnic lines or wars will never stop.
