  • A new sofa is expensive, premade slipcovers not always fit so this DIY Sofa slipcover is the best option to have a brand new-looking sofa on a budget. The best part? is washable!
    Full tutorial available on the blog linked below.
    This video is a summary of what it took to completely change this sofa from beige to white. My initial intention was to have the whole tutorial here but after many stumbles, while trying to record and take photos it didn't work as a video tutorial. However, the full and detailed tutorial with photos is on the blog so you can learn all the ins and outs.
    I just wanted to share with you that if I could make it, anyone who can use a sewing machine can too. This project was by far the most complex one I have ever done but I enjoyed every step of the way. Hope it inspires you to renew your sofa.
    Please note that not every sofa is the same, if your sofa is built in a similar way as mine, upholstering it is totally possible.
    If you find this video inspiring don't forget to give it a THUMBS UP and SUBSCRIBE for future videos.

    Damn you are so talented!! I wish I knew how to sew this is exactly what I want for my couch! Everything down to the ruffle bottom is perfection!! I wish you talked and explained what you did in the video besides just the measurements. Wish I could create this!! 😍😍😍

      Hi Shauna, Thank you so so much for your kind words. This video is just a quick overview of the process. If you want more details, you can check out the full blog posts linked within the description. But keep in mind that each couch is different so I explain how to follow your own couch as your base to create the new slipcovers. If you need more details, don't hesitate to ask.
      Hugs!

      Hi Jill, Thank you so much! Trust me I'm not a professinal either. I've intuitively tried, tested and finished stuff. Start with smaller projects, like simple pillowcases, heat pads and so on. and then move on to larger mre complex projects. To get better at it you need to keep trying. I'm a huge believer that if I could, you can too!
      Have a wonderful day!

    Me encantó la tela que usaste! Me puedes decir que tela es porfa? Muy lindo trabajo!

    • @thecraftingnookds
      @thecraftingnookds  4 года назад +2

      El nombre de la tela va a depender mucho de donde vives. En españa se llama loneta, en Venezuela Lona pero ya cada pais tendra su nombre. Tiene que ser una tela fuerte para que no ceda ni se rompa. Esta no llega a ser de esas gruesas de tapiseria pero va por ahi. En el blog estan todos los detalles y si no entiendes el ingles creo que lo puedes ver traducido. Espero sea de ayuda.
      Besos.

    How many meters did you use for this fantastic cover ?

    • @thecraftingnookds
      @thecraftingnookds  Год назад

      Each sofa is different so keep in mind that as it could be more or less for yours. I used almost 8. meters and around 2 meters of felt to work as anti-slip. There are other fabrics for anti-slipping but I wanted to keep it simple and under a budget. Hope this helps!
