I had the pleasure of being killed on "The Expanse" season 2 episode 11. I claim no ownership to this video clip. All rights belong to their respective owners.
So in the book this moment has a great twist. Holden and crew surprise them and there’s a standoff. Meng gets angry, decides to force the issue, and racks the slide on his pistol to show he means business. Meng thinks it’s just for show, like in movies, but it actually starts the gunfight. Amos takes his pistol away afterwards I think.
Yeah Prax thinks it's threatening but to the soldiers it meant business. I wasn't clear on if Prax shot the woman in the face in the books or someone else did, but they killed almost 12 people (and more to follow) all because he cocked his gun
Is this a reference to the scene from the book, where Prax thinks actioning his gun would give his threat gravitas "because that's what people in movies do", when all it really does is start the gunfight?
If you think about it, pizza in this world must be super expensive as stuff like cheese and tomatoes are very expensive to produce. Eating a genuine cheese pizza is like eating gold crusted truffles in our world. And don’t even get started with the meat.
Tomatoes and wheat would probs be fairly easy b/c hydroponics, and the meat (if any) is probably vat-grown, but there is literally a cheese mafia and illegal cheese smuggling since it's so expensive and tasty.
Man, this has more punctuation in the book because Prax pulls back the hammer instead of just lifting his gun. Still, the show has merits that separate it from the book.
There are things in the book that just, well wouldn't translate well. They would have to do a whole lot of exposition just to explain certain motivations instead of letting the story carry the story. I like both and I love seeing how they simplified the characters by having the 4 heroes fill in for multiple characters from the books and they did it very well.
Later on in the book, when things are going to s**t between the Earth and Martian navies, Amos tells Prax, "See, that's them all pulling back the hammer"
Holden: Amos Disarm these people. Woman: That is not going to happen. Holden: Amos, get THE grenade. Woman: .... Woman: ok OK take the weapons....just lets not do anything stupid, there is no need for the grenade.....
Mik Moen They aren't really adding to realism by keeping current gun designs. Changes to powder formula (increased power/velocity of each bullet) would require changes to gun design (different spring/ gas systems and would probably fire hotter then current military formulas) and that's ignoring other changes to munitions (I doubt steel core would still be penetrator of choice, probably some futuristic DU-Alloy which would require better recoil systems and barrel material). I just can't see us (humans) using the equivalent of a m1 grand or Thompson (KISS VECTOR) in 100 years.
Don't be a logic-bomb, Marc... Vectors look cool and futuristic. Plus, they're cheap to acquire as deactivated props. Moreover, if you care to apply some handwavium, then you can rationalize the design having been adapted and modified to use the micropellet ammunition as outlined in the novels.
Dylan Wight I'd bet. I can't see them adding crap like ammo counters, and everything else is a barrel/receiver swap from working. They never gave a damn about recoil dampening and I doubt they will 200-2000years from now. lol
Pizza party massacre sounds like some scenario from the Hitman video game series or some mafia hit at some gangster boss owned pizza restaurant. I watched some of the Miami Vice TV show video clips. This would fit that TV show too.
"You like pizza?"
Holden: "...We do"
They take the pizza and slowly walk out of the room.
only if it was coffe
... gunfight erupts, on the discovery of pineapple...

At least you didn't have to die to the unholy handgrenade. :-)

"you like pizza?"
Holden: " Does it have pineapples?"
"yes?"
Holden: "Sacrilege!" *opens fire*
Better if he just opened fire without saying anything.
Haha if you look closely, you can see Prax forgot to take the safety off.
Haha nice spot
Eric Himmelblau
Doctors aren't well know for their weapons use.... LOL!
Definitive proof that Prax is not that guy.

This could have been the best Digorno commercial ever.

@@Maxi25554 it could be a vegan pizza. When Miller goes through Julie's potential dates before finding the "Sherpa"/Bizi Betiko, they're all vegan.
Well, they did warn eating junkfood shortens your lifespan...

I agree. I prefer the books as a rule of thumb. But the bit where Amos chucks the grenade back is a lot more enjoyable in the tv show I think.
He also screams his demands over the pizza lady’s responses like a fucking dumbass

the way you hold that pizza is so sublime
And the scene continues to the unholy hand grenade incident.
I still drop by every so often to watch this.
They eat Pizza with loaded guns? What new kind of paranoia level is that?
If the pizza is too hot and you burn your mouth, you can shoot it as revenge.
Remember...Thoth station was raided by the Belters not long before this. Hence the increased security.
the kind of paranoia that you're working on an alien "something/molecule" that turns them into ultra-resilient monsters
Pizza is a luxury item in that place and space pirates exist, too.
Gotta protect that pizza from being stolen.
Pretty sure Jules Pierre Mao told them a Martian strike team was coming
who hates pizza?!?
Anybody notice that Naomi ducked before the shooting even started?
Could have been worse. Had the Ninja Turtles been there....
Why do they always miss the mouthy one?
Oh they have Vectors, awesome looking SMG.

Dylan Wight I hear ya, I guess I find the development/potential of future weapons an interesting topic for discussion.
Well, we can be sure that some Kalashnikova variant would still be in production.

Did you at least get some pizza before you were killed? Just seems such a waste...
got a couple bites ;)
