  • March 11th, 2024 - if you're a "solo-preneur", self-employed, one man band, or business of few... you NEED to read this book.
This book has completely changed my perspective, my paradigm on entrepreneurship and what businesses are.
For the past 7 years I've been operating from the "technician's" perspective- with the manager sprinkled in when 1099'ing (contracting) others.
This weekend I've done what others who've read this book claimed- read through once, almost feverishly... and read it a second time after putting it down for a day.
The 3 most important points I pulled from The E-Myth Revisited are:
    1) Knowing the difference between the technician, manager, and entrepreneurs mentality / roles... I can't stress enough how important knowing this concept alone is for solo-preneurs, self employed, and those afflicted with what Gerber calls, "the entrepreneurial seizure".
    2) Just how important the dream, vision, mission, and purpose are. These affect the drive and define the impact for the entire business- from the hierarchical and systems creation down to the operations manual for answering the phone.
    3) Identifying, creating, and defining, in detail, every role and system in the business to operate. If you're ever going to pull yourself OUT of the business (work on it), you have to define every action needed for those working IN the business in order for everyone to have a consistency, including the customer.
My only ask if you find value from this book is to share its name with others. As I said in the video- decades and not one person has ever said to me, "Have you read this Daryle? You need to read this!"
I haven't heard any modern day influencers talk about it- at all. Alex Hormozi calls his business podcast "The Game" and Michael Gerber wrote about "The Game" in the 1980's- when Hormozi was in his teens.
It's the straight forward information and structure that make the information in this book so impactful.
I gravitate toward the basics, information for which solid foundations can be built- and when it comes to creating a business, this is one of the most basic (and important) books I've ever read.
