It's easy because it creates pockets meta that are way easier to control than cards that will get out of control while the year expands. Right now, it feels very bad because there are 2 design philosophies coexisting at the same time in Hearthstone. I think Kibler is very right whenever he highlights that Hearthstone is going, design-wise, in a good direction. The problem is that it is not there yet, and players might not be patient enough.
@@dragonlogos1Bad idea! That was what Magic did with Kamigawa AND Mercadian Masques block! Kamigawa had parasitic mechanics in spiritshift and arcane, and Mercadia had self-destruct buttons that your opponent could pay for built into your own cards.
Starships are if blizzard said "lets make the slowest mechanic in hearthstone history but put it during a meta game thats the fastest its been since stormwind"
Actually the starships for Terran are all mechs at a base, and so are all the 2/1 token ones. So you could skip that Paladin one altogether and still have a mech using just Terran neutral stuff if that's your goal. Here's the note explaining that in the blog post: "The Terran classes also now have a special Starship: the Battlecruiser! The Battlecruiser has new art and the Mech minion type. If you have a Signature Starship piece in your Starship, you will get the Signature-art version of the Battlecruiser."
8:38 my only problem with current hearthstone state. So mamy ways to steal minions. Making big starships or taunts like this one is frustrating when You know enemy can straight up steal them or just remove from game/puff from existance.
7:48 Without Elusive it doesn't seem great, honestly. You'll spend 11 mana for a minion that can be removed by a single cheap spell. If it had elusive (which would fit the card's lore) it would have a chance, I think
Making a bold prediction here: zergs will dominate the game early on with their quick swarms but, after a nerf or two, Raynor might singlehandedly viabilize some tier 2 or even tier 1 starship decks.
Only possible thing I’d note is we’ve never seen any temo starships run. Only stall or combo. The reason why I mention that is there is the neutral starship that’s 2/2 divine sheild like shielded minibot. I don’t think that necessarily makes the difference, but its not a bad tempo play in its own right and leads well into the location
There's only going to be 3 Starcraft cards per class? I feel like that's just not enough to make these Starcraft factions cohere. They said it was the biggest mini-set ever so I was imagining like 5 cards per class, which would be half as many as the expansion itself. It's especially a problem due to the fact that these Starcrafts are so synergistic with each other that it likely won't be worth playing any unless you're playing them all, which I think means that for them to actually see play they all have to be good cards. If they had 5 cards per class instead of 3 that would give a little more room for a few of them to be duds and the package to still work.
urrrrghhh... Druid once again gets cards that absolutely break any sort of balance, and what does Paladin get? 1/1, get +1 for each other friendly minion. Whooo, look out there Blizzard, Pally might actually break a tiny bit of Druid's armor before getting utterly stomped >_>
Bro i'm so excited about this... These cards look like they're fan made. But they're real! I've used all these units in Stacraft so many times! And they didn't change anything, they put the same names, and the pictures of the units.
We have been consistently playing the overheal Naga that gets +1/1 for each minion overhealed in Zarimi priest - the paladin starship piece seems like it would fill a similar role in an aggressive paladin deck. Obviously the synergy with Crimson Clergy can’t be overlooked in the comparison but the threat presented by a wide board and a tall minion has won priest a lot of games in current year hearthstone
Its great how they naild the "main" playstile of each factions. Zerg with lots of units and strong aggression. Protos with expensiv highly synergistic units wer you build up to get them out. And Terran that hunker down and survive and then go for one big push.
Methinks warrior is gonna be busted with such a strong early-mid game package, could throw in some damage synergy bc the effects r all inherent to the starship minion
I think you are sleeping on Hellion/Hellbat. Think of it as a complement to the +1 attack Zilliax, but with a massive late game payoff. I'm also extremely worried about Raynor, especially in Warrior. For mega greed, you can get a starship, launch it with Exodar, get another copy, then get 2 more off of Raynor and 2+ off of Hydration. I think he will be good in flood paladin too, with a hero power that summons 4/2 taunts. With a 3 mana, 5/4 charge. With possibly a 6/4 zilliax give your minions rush.
I have played Star Craft 2 a bunch, but not much of SC1. Does anyone know where the ultra capacitor for Terran comes from? It feels like a completely random card with no flavour connection to anything to me. Everything else is basically just units or things you do in Star Craft, but that one sticks out like a sore thumb.
The Mini Set is interesting, they obviously wanted to cross games and I can see that being fun if done rarely. I just hope Hearthstone doesn’t become Magic 2.0 with too many outside franchises, because for every perfect Lord of the Rings set I much enjoyed, Magic does an Assassins Creed? A Final Fantasy? I mean it really evolved into a franchise merger.
In the last couple years Regis new card reviews basically are him downplaying every card that isn’t absolutely crazy good. He’s basically lukewarm on most cards which, whether he is right or wrong, isn’t super entertaining to watch. Still love you Regis but pessimism isn’t entertaining to watch.
Man, i feel so disappointed with this collaboration, the cards dont feel characteristic to the theme at all. The hellion is a card that Buffs atack? Okey, why? The immortal a tanky anti armor (big things) is just a divine shield taunt with borring text. Stimpack summons and buffs the dmg of minions? Doesn't dmg in favor of more offensive? It honestly feels like some one gave the concept art of StarCraft to another person that doesn't know it exist, and told him "make boring cards around this boring mechanic". Very disappointed.
The new mechanics of this set are "marines are a starship but they get a battle cry when launched" "zerg summons eficiente small body's" "Protos is mana cheat for stat checkers on druid" How exciting and innovative.
Regis, I used to watch you back in the day, and it seemed like you had quaffed hair. It was way too intentional. You might still spend time on your hair, but it looks so much better now. It was too intentional before
After the Tourist Keyword and now this miniset, I'm curious why they insist on making packages that lose relevance so easily.
Dont get your point, this inst New remenber galakrond? And lackeys

Really like John Starship, looks neat
Immortal should be something like "This minion can only take 3 damage at a time"
Yea, I mean that would be closer to it's original design (guardian shell) maybie an enrage -> divine shield would better rep the 100hp barrier spell?

It’s from the SC2 WoL campaign it’s an upgrade you get from collecting resources that improves fire rate.
Well it’s a piece of the ship not the ship itself so why would you know much about it they are mentioned once or twice in passing lines.
Jin raynor will be good with defence crystal whether the other starships cards are good or not.

This won't make me play. But i really do love the flavor of the crossover here.
oh, i thoug that immortal only double atack
I miss Starcraft dude
i think the worst part of the capacitor is a 2 mana 7/7 just isnt very good anymore past turn like 5.
Proton will probably be the strongest, mana cheat is always busted.
Wow, that such a cool card in reference to warhammer space marine

So hard to get excited about this after the complete flop that was the main expansion
It sucks they make starships to help make board matter but there are too many punishes for it
hearthstone back then: 4 mana 7/7... amazing!
hearthstone now: 2 mana 7/7.... unplayable
Were my zerg bois cards? All i see are puny terrans and up-in-the-ass protoss
