tbh I'm a survivor main but if you get the opinions of people who are actually gods with the killers, they'll probably know what needs to be nerfed better than the survivors do. Ofc we'll need probably an equal number of survivor mains to balance opinions tho
I'm not really a fan of Hens, and I think some of his takes are bad, but yeah in general any player with that many hours is going to have better advice than whatever they've been using.

I do recall one of the big things being that he actually pays attention to tournaments, which I consider a joke based on how much of this game is RNG. Also high level tournament play is very boring, with all the worst parts of DBD being rampant. And whilst I understand the point is to be as efficient as possible, I still will never watch tournament play without falling asleep and being unable to take it seriously.

The issue with this program is their are some top tier players in it and i just hope they dont just try balancing for the very top percent and leaving the mass majority of the playerbase in the dust. It would kill the game
But to be honest this is the best way to do it. Low level players are all over the place while the top mmr is usually more stable in their results thus they can produce actual data that is accurate to the actual state of the game.
Every time a company starts hiring from its fans, it starts going downhill unless the fan is really mature and is able to separate or coordinate their love for the game from the needs of a business. It's been happening to Aoe2 ever since they hired Cysion and started hiring community map editors to make campaigns.
Think before you open mouth. If something is balanced for top tier players, its balanced for everyone. Look at blight and counterplay for him. This game is not 1v1, survs beat killers by chase, gens and stealth. On comp blight has regular result as 4k on 2 gens, with all restrictions survivors have there. In public this killer and nurse are balanced for top tier teams. If they beat other 95% players in public its just because these players are bad, not because bligh is uncounterable. If medium player play blight, he will be bullied by strong team. Without paying a big amount of time and having good personal skill, S tier killers are not that strong at all
Also i have seen many 2 escapes against blight in comp. I would say this killer is bear perfectly balanced on top skill of both sides, its really a 50/50 who get the win, pure outplay

It's simple economics. If you make a good product it has a higher chance of being purchased. If you make cheap broken tat then less people will take the risk

I'm all for DBD players pointing out obviously broken updates like the Twins' PTB rework but if this starts putting the game towards being more competitive and sweaty (folks like Tru3Talent or Killer streamers who do streaks) I'm out.

There's no way they intended for that orb to slow you down while casting. It's more than likely an oversight...that's how I understand it anyway. Something along those lines.

The next patch with a stupid perk change like the Decisive Strike one is going to make these consultants a target of people’s anger, because why wouldn’t BHVR let them know about those things for feedback before it goes to PTB? It would be nice to know exactly what they do. Maybe it’s just the “privilege” of doing customers surveys more often, but they pay more attention to what they say, for example.
Maybe this means we won't see another twins release where Victor can down survivors in 6 seconds from full health, or the old overheat mechanic for Billy.
Why? That was a great change for the game, what they need to do though, is nerf the survivor side of gen spam. If both sides of gen related things are nerfed, it means both sides have more healthier options to pick from perks wise. Killers can run actual chase perks, stealth builds etc.
I'm pretty positive most of the people on the consultants are primarily killer players but they don't play exclusively on any side, which is what's necessary. There shouldn't be any survivor mains or killer mains on a committee like that.
I think the game just needs something to slow it down, on both sides. I don't think it should ever be possible for survivors to win in under 4 minutes or to lose without a major mess up that fast either

How long has this been in place? Because there's a LOT of things they've done that EVERYONE knew was garbage from the start, so if the player consultants system was there for those, it's not a good sign. It means either the consultants aren't good (which I doubt with Hens being in there) or BHVR just don't listen to them (which I'm fully prepared to believe)

Yes stop making decisions with no experience of the game you made and allow players with great minds to tell you what should be done. Every game should be this way to be honest.
In the industry, Fog Whisperers are what are considered a Partner Program/Influencer Program/Creator Program and are handled by roles like Marketing Managers/Creator Relations/Influencer Relations -- this type of program is for advocacy and marketing of the game. The participants in these kinds of programs are merely in the program to promote and advocate for the game to increase its exposure and popularity. The Player Consultant Program serves a completely different purpose in that the participants in it are supposed to help influence decisions to make sure the game can exist for a long time as the game gets new content and changes. A program like this is handled by roles like Game Designers, Gameplay Engineers, etc. The people selected for a program like this is not because they have clout, but because they have an understanding of the game that is far different than who would be in the Fog Whisperer program. These kinds of programs are COMPLETELY different and to think that 1 program should cover 2 different use cases is silly.

There are several Fog Whisperers (and other big content creators) who are well versed enough with the game that they SHOULD be able to consult the developers on various things regarding the game. The fact that they can't has been a complete waste of potential for years which has only served to send the message that the devs don't listen to the community, not even the "top dogs" of it. A reputation they've only recently begun to mend. I'm well aware of what the Fog Whisperer programme is. I was around to see the first wave of content creators join the programme, such as HybridPanda. And I've seen it serve to shoot both the devs and the community in the foot because of how it's been handled, all while the obvious answer has been under everyone's noses the entire time. So, again, thank you for wasting your time.

How long has this been in place? Because there's a LOT of things they've done that EVERYONE knew was garbage from the start, so if the player consultants system was there for those, it's not a good sign. It means either the consultants aren't good (which I doubt with Hens being in there) or BHVR just don't listen to them (which I'm fully prepared to believe)
Super curious where this consultant team was for the Twins rework, I only have a few hundred hours on them and I could’ve 4k’d team eternal with an off-meta build. Where were these private expert consultants???
Blame BHVR for that not the consultants. This is exactly the thing they want you to do, blame the consultants and make a scapegoat out of them. I don't know how you didn't realize that.

Oh nice, the very thing the Fog Whisperers programme should have been.
In the industry, Fog Whisperers are what are considered a Partner Program/Influencer Program/Creator Program and are handled by roles like Marketing Managers/Creator Relations/Influencer Relations -- this type of program is for advocacy and marketing of the game. The participants in these kinds of programs are merely in the program to promote and advocate for the game to increase its exposure and popularity.
The Player Consultant Program serves a completely different purpose in that the participants in it are supposed to help influence decisions to make sure the game can exist for a long time as the game gets new content and changes. A program like this is handled by roles like Game Designers, Gameplay Engineers, etc. The people selected for a program like this is not because they have clout, but because they have an understanding of the game that is far different than who would be in the Fog Whisperer program.
These kinds of programs are COMPLETELY different and to think that 1 program should cover 2 different use cases is silly.

Big difference between what something is and what something should be.
There are several Fog Whisperers (and other big content creators) who are well versed enough with the game that they SHOULD be able to consult the developers on various things regarding the game.
The fact that they can't has been a complete waste of potential for years which has only served to send the message that the devs don't listen to the community, not even the "top dogs" of it. A reputation they've only recently begun to mend.
I'm well aware of what the Fog Whisperer programme is. I was around to see the first wave of content creators join the programme, such as HybridPanda. And I've seen it serve to shoot both the devs and the community in the foot because of how it's been handled, all while the obvious answer has been under everyone's noses the entire time.
So, again, thank you for wasting your time.
