This song uses a theory from western classical music called "counterpoints" in the 1st BGM.
Then in the 2nd BGM he moves back to carnatic music.
In the 3rd BGMs he mixes both. How he swaps genres like eating peanuts is beyond anyone's imagination!!!

The Prelude starts with Flute,followed by lead Guitar as second layer,at the end of prelude,while flute and Guitar sink perfectly,the key board notes,indicating the singer to start the Pallavi no rhythamic instruments,only guitar rhythm,then first interlude starts with counter points between Veena and Violins,a small bit of Tabla in Hindustani Gazal style as rhythm followed by Flute+Solo violin,ends with Chorous violins and double base,paving the way for the singer to start the first saranam.
The second prelude is the the mother of all compositions,with Guitar with drums rhythm,counter points between Veena+Guitar and Tabla and counter points between Chorous violins and tabla,takes us to the heaven,there is no words further....
Why am describing all is,the common man,who knows nothing about professional music like myself,can able to learn atleast some musical words,by the way of listening Raja Sir's compositions.Like me, millions of people around the globe learning a lot in music by this divine connectivity between Raja Sir and all of us.

I'm very sure these Hungary Orchestra Team amazed with our Raaga Devan's Isai....
Nope not initially. For them these main Melody(soprano, the singer voice) would sound very different, as these main melodies are based on either carnatic raaga or Hindustani. But their grasp over orchestration (basically bass, and rhythm) and instrumentation(other background music) would be bit faster to grasp, provided they are Western based. If Indian instruments play in counterpoint (basically in parallel) or in call and response(one Melody followed by another), or mixed Western and Indian they will have to train themselves to get accustomed. But if they were given a session how songs are made in India(basically play backed, and purpose of each song, wrt movie). They will get a better handle over the song, the main Melody, the orchestration. For sure initially they wouldn't know why a such a soothing Melody has turbulent yet soothing instrumentation. Cause the the scenes to be pictured for the song demands it. Once they get all these, I bet they will be awesome struck at raaja sir, and his pre-desessors.
