As a massive fan of One Piece I still would recommend One Pace because the pacing in the anime specifically is pretty rough. I hope the remake addresses this, but in the meantime One Pace is excellent.

I was new to anime and didn't even realize what filler was, and just watched everything as if it was all canon xD. The good parts of One Pace is that it streamlines the story to the manga, the only bad ones i could think of is that there will be less episodes of the crew bonding. Love the filler when Robin just joined the crew and the others left to explore an island, it was just her and Chopper left on Going Merry just getting to know each, that was pretty cute ngl. All in all One Pace is great when you don't have time on your hands, but If you have time try watching the anime, better yet watch the manga and maybe watch some parts of the anime for the hype moments in the manga.
@WatanukiProductions I agree in parts. The pace is not amazing at first, but it also has this nice feel to it. It makes you so immersed that it really feels like you're there with the crew. I will forever recommend people to watch at least until alabasta, then they can switch to one pace. Only after the ts it became unbearable to an offensive degree. But some liberties in the anime are actually good, as it is necessary. The manga doesn't have music, voices and such things. When one piece has a good director, it is really really good. When it's bad, it's quite bad...
People keep complaining that their favourite mangas and animes are too short, but when I tell them to read One Piece they suddenly learn the words "too long".

Senor Pink was such a ridiculous flex for the author. He is utterly unimportant XD He has a single (epic and hilarious) fight with one of the strawhats, and Oda (the author) was like "hol' up. I'm just not *feeling* it yet. Let's add some heft to this little tussle." and proceeded to drop one of the best 10 minutes of character lore I've ever seen.
Trust me, when a scene happens near the end of the arc, you will most likely cry from something you would not expect to cry to, I wouldn't spoil what though

yeah oda has some of the best storytelling in anime when it comes to his backstories. people can have their complains about the show but one thing for sure is that he never misses with backstories 😭
and the crazy thing is that that backstory would have just stayed with Oda, but once his editor heard about it, he just had to convince Oda to add to the story now imagine all the other characters that Oda had a backstory like that, but kept to himself...
can you react to "one piece is a fictional masterpiece" , it's basically more updated one to this but it also does cover different aspect points of one piece that makes it sooo goood
I would like to add one factor. The length of One Piece is intimidating, yes, but once you have gone on that journey looking back on where you came from becomes SO meaningful. When you go back and rewatch the openings you already have you will be made to think of the things that happened in that arc, and chill will go down your spine, and goosebumps will race across your arms. Thinking back becomes like thinking about a great time you had with a close friend. This can only happen to the extent it does for One Piece BECAUSE of how long it is. You've literally put the time into being connected to the series, and now you get to feel a way that's impossible if you never allowed yourself to go on the entire adventure.
One Pace is definitely not recommended It's a 1090+ eps series with over 1100+ chapters as of right now Yes it's long It can be a strength to its long form storytelling but also feel like a drag and huge commitment but eitherway it's a journey you should embrace fully and try to take your time with it It's absolutely worth it There's no rush Just enjoy the voyage

on a first watch through id suggest just watching the full thing without filler (the G8 filler is about the only good one) One Pace is more meant for people who want to watch it again without all the amines pacing issues

That line saying that One Piece has "masses of filler" is the one thing I STRONGLY disagree with in this video. Like compared to Naruto it's not even CLOSE. There like 97 episodes of filler within the ENTIRE 1098 episodes. Compare that to OG Naruto (not including Shippuden) there's 91 episodes of filler for just 220 episodes, which is roughly 40% of the show. Now, One Piece exchanges the problem of having massive amounts of filler for having massive amounts of padding (which is not the same thing). You'll notice past around episode 500 that the content in episodes keeps getting stretched out more and more to the point that each episode has about 1 chapter of manga story for the entire episode (whereas earlier in the show it's closer to 2-3 manga chapters per episode. Which is why people recommend One Pace ONLY after reaching about the half point of the series.

One piece does have some filler and gets dragged out at times but I'd just stick with the regular show one pace skips a lot of the intensity and plot building and sometimes even important parts of the episodes plus some of the filler arcs are actually really good and are worth watching (sometimes filler even has foreshadowing)

I started watching the One Piece anime after watching the live action Netflix version. I, too, was hesitant at first because of it's sheer length. Now I am at the end of the Wana arch. My God, I have never seen a cartoon like this. Buckle up and enjoy the ride.
Since this video came out One Piece has passed Batman in sales and it's definitely on track to pass Superman before it concludes in the next few years. My favorite statistic about One Piece is that if you take the number of volumes sold in Japan and compare it to the population of the country you come to the conclusion that the average Japanese person owns 3 volumes of the manga. I got into One Piece about 13 years ago when a friend offered to watch the entirety of My favorite show at the time in exchange for 72 episodes of One Piece, I then ran a tabletop RPG like dungeons & dragons based in the world because I thought it was so perfect for adventure, and in the years since it has become my favorite story of all time and an obsession. I am now a weekly reader who reads it first when the scanlation comes out, watches a bunch of RUclips videos about the chapter, and then read it again when the official translation comes out. It can consume you and I mean that in the best way possible.
Theirs less then 40 episodes of filler and most movies might as well be canon cuz they all link some way or another it honestly is canon don’t care what people say just look at like oh another island another issue 💯

That's misleading though, one piece has just as much if not more filler than those other series, it's just a very different type of filler. Naruto and bleach extend their runtimes artificially by writing new adventures for its characters to go on, one piece on the other hand has far less of that but extends it's run time by taking the existing story and dragging it out to be artificially long. I'd argue this is FAR worse because you can't skip it

Sometimes this takes the form of adding non-cannon scenes, sometimes it takes the form of long recaps, oftentimes it takes the form of long tracking shots in which nothing happens. I'd honestly prefer if One Piece had filler you could simply skip. The One Pace fan edit is not complete but it is excellent and the definitive way to watch the series at least until the remake comes out.
As good as this movie is... I particularly love and recommend "Strong World", because Oda made Shiki (the villain of this film) Canon in the series!! And as the Wano arc unfolds, meeting Shiki and the other sea emperors makes of the new character who is being shown as the greatest danger in the world above Roger, the only pirate king so far in history, a more accurate and terrifying image of the power of this new great villain.
The movies are in a weird spot. they aren't mostly cannon. but oda has worked on a few that are cannon. the movie he recommends go so hard that i consider it cannon. if its good its cannon, if it sucks its not lmao.
A small note about the movie he mentions. It's a great movie if you're already a fan of One Piece since many of its horror and thriller aspects hinge on you already being familiar with the crew dynamics and how they start to unravel in the movie. It's also a bit of a departure from the norm when it comes to the genre of the movie compared to the rest of One Piece. I'd say movie 4 is a better one for someone with no prior knowledge of One Piece.
Had to skip the Senor Pink part since I'm on Dressrosa right now and don't want to be spoiled. I was in the same boat as everyone else too daunted to watch One Piece. I used to watch it in the 90's up until they got to the grand line then fell off of it, over the years I've been wanting to watch it but it just kept going and going so I never thought i'd get back into it. I have a harder time watching long anime so I usually end up dropping them and I didn't want to drop One Piece, so I picked up the manga instead. I'm 757 chapters in and I don't want it to end, once I'm caught up I'll be watching the anime + movies I think. It's just such a fun story.
Movie 6 isn't a canon movie. And technically, none of the movies are canon. But this one does have a unique vibe that makes it worth a watch. However, be advised, it's pretty effed up. Like, "Neverending Story" horse slowly drowning in front of the main character who loves said horse effed up
The movies are for the most part not canon as they dont really have anywhere they would fit in the overall story. However, certain details ARE canon, like the existence of the places and characters shown in the movie, or certain details about characters from the main story that are revealed in the movie.
Dont watch One Pace, enjoy the journey as eveybody has been doing since 1999. Just check websites that tells you what episode not to watch such as fillers ! enjoy the journey
they have filler which you can skip. the way one piece works is by "arcs" or seasons. each arc is usually their own island that they go to, and the filler is no different you can just skip that filler arc/season which shortens the whole anime by a good few ep. (extremely highly recommend you do watch the 5th filler arc in the series G-8 if you get to that point) there is a one piece guide that lets you know what seasons are fillers so you can skip them.
I always see this problem with reaction channels I'm not a content creator so I don't know if it's even an issue but why don't creators use adblock when reacting to a video
One Pace is an okay option, but only use it when the pacing gets that terrible. And by that terrible, I mean after Luffy gets his X Scar. That's when the pacing gets pretty bad. It's not 2.5 episodes of Goku charging the Spirit Bomb against Freeza bad, but some people might find such pacing comparable.
There isn’t a much filler as there used to be. Don’t get me wrong the same amount of filler is still there. But at the time it was just a little over 100 episodes of filler. Now we are closing in on 1100 episodes so now just a little over 1% of the anime is filler

One Pace is NOT for newcomers. It cuts out information assuming you already watched/read and just want a quick rewatch. Never use it for a first watch. I saw another react channel try and very quickly changed to the real show. Not worth it. Just skip filler when it shows up.
The one pace is terrible for first time watchers, i mean terrible. Maybe you can switch to the one pace at thriller bark. But the first 130 episodes at least are mandatory watching the original.
Also it's not really that scary a number the episodes go by pretty easily the one arc I believe is way too long or at least feels that way was the battle in marine Ford
one pace is kinda ass and you lose a lot of the charm and uniqueness the anime brings. honestly since one piece is all about adventure i'd advise not rushing through it and enjoying it as long as you can, but that's just my opinion 🥸👍

It's also a bit of a departure from the norm when it comes to the genre of the movie compared to the rest of One Piece. I'd say movie 4 is a better one for someone with no prior knowledge of One Piece.

I was in the same boat as everyone else too daunted to watch One Piece. I used to watch it in the 90's up until they got to the grand line then fell off of it, over the years I've been wanting to watch it but it just kept going and going so I never thought i'd get back into it. I have a harder time watching long anime so I usually end up dropping them and I didn't want to drop One Piece, so I picked up the manga instead. I'm 757 chapters in and I don't want it to end, once I'm caught up I'll be watching the anime + movies I think. It's just such a fun story.

Movie 6 isn't a canon movie. And technically, none of the movies are canon. But this one does have a unique vibe that makes it worth a watch. However, be advised, it's pretty effed up. Like, "Neverending Story" horse slowly drowning in front of the main character who loves said horse effed up
The movies are for the most part not canon as they dont really have anywhere they would fit in the overall story. However, certain details ARE canon, like the existence of the places and characters shown in the movie, or certain details about characters from the main story that are revealed in the movie.

they have filler which you can skip. the way one piece works is by "arcs" or seasons. each arc is usually their own island that they go to, and the filler is no different you can just skip that filler arc/season which shortens the whole anime by a good few ep. (extremely highly recommend you do watch the 5th filler arc in the series G-8 if you get to that point) there is a one piece guide that lets you know what seasons are fillers so you can skip them.

Nome of the movies are cannon, but one character from one of the latest movies is cannon, just hasn’t been introduced in the story yet.
One Pace is an okay option, but only use it when the pacing gets that terrible. And by that terrible, I mean after Luffy gets his X Scar. That's when the pacing gets pretty bad. It's not 2.5 episodes of Goku charging the Spirit Bomb against Freeza bad, but some people might find such pacing comparable.
Lowest filler ratio of long running series at 13 percent. Sooo not much filler but pacing can be up and down
There isn’t a much filler as there used to be. Don’t get me wrong the same amount of filler is still there. But at the time it was just a little over 100 episodes of filler. Now we are closing in on 1100 episodes so now just a little over 1% of the anime is filler

One piece has about 8% of filler, nothing crazy trust me.
50% of each episodes is filler. a one pannel fight in the manga is a 4 minutes boring standoff in the anime
@@WasephWastarthe slower pacing is to built suspense. It also has to stay behind the manga, so that explains the slower pacing. Maybye it’s because I binged almost all of it within 5 months, but the pacing isn’t that big of an issue to me.

One Pace is NOT for newcomers. It cuts out information assuming you already watched/read and just want a quick rewatch.
Never use it for a first watch. I saw another react channel try and very quickly changed to the real show. Not worth it. Just skip filler when it shows up.

one pace is kinda ass and you lose a lot of the charm and uniqueness the anime brings. honestly since one piece is all about adventure i'd advise not rushing through it and enjoying it as long as you can, but that's just my opinion 🥸👍
