i used to work for Frito Lay and once a month we would produce prison chips. They were the same chip as the free world ate only in a different bag.

As someone who works in a prison im constantly amazed by the shit guys can make with just a microwave. I've even gone home and tried doing the same things.
DarkSaint580 Then just imagine what they could do if actually having access to proper ingredients and didn’t need to rely on things being smuggled from the kitchen all the time. I’d love to see a prison system where items commonly needed for prison recipes were given to inmates on maybe a weekly basis or a ration per day, or at least a list where they can sign up to get an ingredient of choice on a weekly basis or so. Say one guy wants a paprika and another an onion, a third might want some butter or an egg etc. That and a few more microwaves and omg inmates would have so much more to do together while serving their time. Onion guy and paprika guy could team up with a few more and everyone brings something to the meal, then maybe the guys with egg and butter could whip up a cake, and all that without having to eat stuff that’s been smuggled in someone’s butt crack...
@@ReyOfLight that's why my facility offers culinary arts. Not everyone makes extravagant meals, and allowing them to buy certain items wouldn't be terrible, but could lead to potential problems
@@ReyOfLight its prison, theyre not meant to have fun. I mean, really why are people throwing ideas out for ways to make prisoners lifes better, yeah a lot of inmates are great people, but they still did something to end up in jail.
@pee is stored in the balls change my mind Yes but it doesn't mean you should make their quality of life so terrible that they are given more insentive to do wrong things then good. Prison should be more about rehabilitation and preparing the prisoners to go back to the real world. Boredom never leads to good things. The human mind, just like any other animal, needs to be stimulated.
And there is two reasons for that:
1. I want my tax money well spent, let's not throw money away to care for prisoners if we don't need too.
2. I want to know that when they are released...that they are not going to be super dangerous.
Let them go fishing or some shit and see what they can do with those fish. Probably fish ramen lol

Don't come to jail in Tennessee. You ain't getting half of that shit on commissary lol all we had was jalapeno cheese puffs, soups, refried beans, and little beef sticks for our spread. Then add crushed up doritos in top with cheese and a little ranch and wrap it in a tortilla.... the shiiiitttt!!! We cooked every Friday night and one of the COs was our friend from childhood who choose a different path and he'd come in some nights and get a wrap from us..... but we charged him for some free world food lol

@@kewlmanable same here man. We did get jalapeno cheese tho. They took away sodas tho becuz people was using the bottles to work out. It's a very limited selection down here but that's just in county. I've heard prison has a better selection

Gourmet Prison Meals with high quality ingredients should be a new series. Maybe you could even consult with a professional chef for ingredient ideas
that kinda defeats the whole purpose of this series tho. Which is to do it as prison like as possible.
the purpose of the new series would be to redo everything, cooking it in the same way you would in prison, but with gourmet ingredients. the purpose of this series is to do everything as close to prison as possible

I'm only 5 minutes into this thing but:
The funniest thing is that I've been out of prison for nearly 17 years and I still enjoy making the resourceful shit I made when I was in prison....Some of these prison recipe's are fun and taste fantastic despite how bizarre they seem... But people have to understand that when you're in prison you have to make the most of what you have.... Prison is a very creative place. I know a lot of people think "criminals" are stupid people, however they're the most creative people in the world... Seriously - if you're not intelligent then you're NOT going to survive in prison.... Prison is like being locked up with "Kevin" from "Home Alone" and the only difference is that some of these people are extremely dangerous - and on top of that they're in their own atmosphere or reality....
Sorry, I digressed from what I was saying BUT........ Believe it or not these creative prison recopies are not only good for a quick meal but tasty too.... It's weird when you think about it but it is pretty tasty......... In reality it's really nothing more than that show "Hell's Kitchen" where Ramsay tells you that you only have 5-10 ingredients and you gotta make something of it.....
I would add this tho...... The guards damn well knew we were making all this insanely creative food - to why the FUCK didn't they sell pasta sauce or marinara sauce on commissary??? could have made some pretty good pasta with that...... lol, bastards.. You see that is one of the ways they fuck with the inmates - they withhold logical items from you.. It's part of the "game" tho..
