Great engines. 2006 530xi 255k, n52 with factory 3 stage manifold. Had it since buying it from BMW dealer in early 2013. It had 121k then. No engine problems, except oil cooler/housing leaks, and this year 2024 a knock sensor. runs great shifts great too. Love this car, best ever.
I just recently pick up a 02 e53 with the 3.0 with 122k on the clock. Already put like 1500 miles on it and i love it. The day i bought it i changed the trans n diff diff fluid and gave it a oil change. Cooling system was recently done so the next and last thing i intend on doing is struts/shock all around and tires n alignment.
Clean af bro. I had 2 e39s. Im thinkin bout buying an 04 e53 it has 190k asking. its clean in and out no CEL. Only issuse is radio not working and driver window regulator. We will see. Both my e39s had great engines. Im a mechanic so im mit worried anout it
Also is it the5l40e gm trans I have a BMW X5 with 168,009 miles and am worried the trans will give out soon will it? I see a lil leak on the transmission

My 2004 X5 has 220,000k and counting. I did the cooling system and a/c fix, other than that just regular maintenance

I actually got this car recently from a trade I had a salvage Nissan Altima 2012 for it I got x5 2009 with 202k miles what a steal
hope you keep the trajnsmission is serviced, and get a new fuel [pump+filter. Fon't drive with no fuel in the tank.

01 x5 3.0i 160K no engine problems jsut cosmetic issues that all .
Yeah with these generation of X5 wear and tear is going to be more of the concern tbh but mechanically very strong 💪🏾
