Hollins hired McKenzie to design her new course, Pasatiempo, in Santa Cruz, CA. Bobby Jones played the inaugural round at Pasatiempo, right after playing Cypress Point. Impressed with McKenzie's skills ,Jones hired them both to work on Augusta National. Mckenzie loved Pasatiempo so much he decided to build his home along the 6th fairway there and lived there the rest of his life. He claimed that the the 16th hole at Pasatiempo was the the finest hole he ever designed.
