I’m really enjoying your series on how to create your own cut files. I used to use illustrator back when I worked in the commercial printing industry. Now I’m using affinity designer which is very similar. I appreciate you taking the time to make these kinds of videos. I look forward to seeing what you come up with next!
You all prolly dont give a shit but does anybody know a method to log back into an Instagram account?? I was dumb lost my account password. I would love any assistance you can give me!
@Jaime Memphis Thanks for your reply. I got to the site thru google and im in the hacking process now. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
This is so great! Do you have any intentions of showing how to design files with arcs like your hot air balloon or even the camper? I am not sure how the math/measuring works on something like that. Thank you!
I just found you and subbed! Great tutorial!! I have a question. I have silhouette business. I am now trying to get into creating my own SVG files. I have been searching for days on how to create a 3D file using clip art. I keep getting 3d cubes and such. Example: I want to make a STAR SHAPED box to cut out in my Cameo. What wording do I type in youtube to get that tutorial? I hope i am explaining this correctly. Thanks I advance for your response!! ❤️ Tmika
Hi There! I don't know if you'll be able to find a tutorial that specific anywhere on RUclips. But, making any box applies the same principals. You just need to change the dimensions, and figure out where all of your connections points are. I suggest sketching it out first, and writing your desired measurements down before jumping in to any complex, 3D project.
Thank you for your reply. I’ll try. I watched your tutorial twice❤️ I guess I was looking for the wording that points me in the direction on how to create a shaped box. I don’t know how to created the connections. I can make the start shape but how do I make the parts that connect it? Ugh.... I’ll keep searching and watching. Thanks for taking the time to reply!!
Have you tried searching on pinterest? There are a lot of tutorials on how to make star box with lid template...dont know how cameo works in comparison with cricut. Can you cut 2 star shapes in silhouette design and a long rectangle for the depth for side to make the box and allow extra for score lines??? If that makes sense 🤔😳 good luck
@@scrapdaworld Did you figure out an answer? I can email you an idea if you link me your address. You start off with your star (that will be your base) then measure one side of the star leg and multiple it by 10 for a 5 pointed star. Say each side is 4 inches, multiply by 10 for a total of 40 inches. That's how long of a strip you will need to make your box wall. Score every 4 inches of that strip. Add tabs to one side of that strip. The lid you would just make the same way she made the square lid.
@@JJ-nr4fd Ahhhh I had a similar question and your answer seems to be close to what I'm looking for. I'm wanting to design 3d numbers and letters and I am trying to figure out how to calculate the length of strip for the depth (part that will make it 3d). I could understand what you said for the star but how to do it for shapes like a 2? Can't figure out what to even search for. lol
hello, nice tutorial. I just have a few questions, because I can't get it to work and now I'm getting quite annoyed. 😅😅🙈 I use the illustrator app because I do a lot of things on my iPad. That took some getting used to, because I usually use procreate. So now I want to make my own cutting files with fold lines and small cuts in the figure itself. But every time I upload the file in Cricut the whole figure turns black and all the lines in the figure disappear. 😰 Could you help me with this? I can't find any good tutorials like yours. 😇 And would you consider making a turotial with the app as well? That is not there yet. I hope you can help me. Greetings Anneloes
Okay, so, Design Space is another animal. When it comes to score lines (or any other shapes that aren't "cut lines"), they will need to be set as such once your design is uploaded to Cricut Design Space. BUT you'll need to ungroup everything first. Otherwise, it will turn everything the same color, and it won't come out right. Be sure to check out this tutorial I did if you're still having issues in Design Space: ruclips.net/video/RQ0y8rXDUJ0/видео.html

Awesome tutorial! I'm planning on making a wood puzzle (out of bass or balsa wood probably) with my Cricut Maker so this was very helpful!
That will be awesome!! :D

Ooo, that's a really good idea for a video! The math varies depending on the design, but I think I could offer a few helpful tips. :)
@@DesignsByMissM Looking forward to it!! Thanks so much!
Sounds great, but this seems to be for soomeone already familiar with AI. Looking for a beginner video.
