At first there is sticker shock, then you try the cheaper ones hoping they will fit good. Unfortunately after trying on the expensive ones it's hard to not buy them. I agree, prices are too high.
I ended up going with a pair of dmts in a size 44 and they fit a little snug but that's how I like it. my feet don't get larger when I'm riding.... The shimanos fit a little wider as I said.. it only had the wide version, so they were too big. they fit a bit bigger... should go and try them on.. it's been awhile since I had those shimanos on.
They didn't have the rc9s in my size ...but from what I noticed looking at them it had a stiffer sole but you can't flex the 7 so who cares ...and the seven seems to have more material on it... That's what I recall anyway... that was a few years ago so I'm just going from memory
Haven't been able to try those lake shoes. The shimanos I tried were too wide. I don't have a wide foot and all the places I go to only have the wide versions.. I will likely try on some Girl shoes next. Really depends on your foot... Everyone is different.
@@scottrider7271 i have the rc7 41.5 regular had to size up a little but my question is can i buy a 41 in wide vs 41.5 regular rc7 2nd pair? what i mean is is buying a 41 wide same as 41.5 regular?
I see what you mean. Some shoes maybe.. but when I tried on the 44... Then the 44.5.... the 44.5 was definitely longer... So half sizes do change length
@@derekcapitano5257 Shimanos ran small for me. But Bont's sizing tool is spot on! This is true for women and mens sizes. We bought 4 pair total. The cool thing is that some styles allow you to mold the soles slightly to fit perfectly. Best of all the attack angle and stack height really make saddle height and qfactor adjustments very easy.
@@derekcapitano5257 I got the tri shoes. Go up. Always. If you ride in winter you may have thick socks. If you get the moldable soles. Easier to squeeze than push. Nugget from experience. Only use two types of socks. Buy multiples in each esp is you are a endurance rider.
RC 7 are extraordinary but as most Shimano shoes are undersized. It is necessary to buy 0.5 to 1 size larger compared to other brands

It’s true, I have 43 in normal shoe size (with Nike it’s even 42.5) but the Shimano Rc702’s need to be 44 for me.
Its ridiculous this shoes are 225. And are still considered a mid level shoe. What an expensive hobby i got my self in to lol

I have same 10.5 average foot, did the 44.5 fit you well and does it still have space to wiggle or stretch your toes?

I have these they are great super comfortable like a tennis shoes and puts the power down

Buy one size above your regular number.
If you have a wider foot perhaps.. In my case my foot is average to narrow
I have normal - average foot, can i choose size 47e (wide). my normal size is 46
the shimano wides unfortunately... are wide... can't say for sure, but it least in the case of my foot... wider than most
