Happy you enjoyed my homeland! Nice to learn about an excursion we haven't yet done... Good Hope Estate! With the jerk chicken, that's festival, not cornbread. In Jamaica, we say rice and peas. It's cooked and tastes differently than Spanish rice and beans. Yes, as we say, Jamaica nice! 🖤💚💛

Hey guys. Maybe I’m seeing things. Saw stuff floating in the pool. The waterfalls and zip line looks cool. Lad it’s a cozy spot. Food ok. Never heard of alcohol removed wine. Me and my wife went on the zip line tour when we were there very fun. The guides were more than friendly.

Good hope is one of my favourite local places to take people who are visiting. It was an old sugar plantation so if you are interested in history the great house tour is good.
I also love to take visitors to YS falls and the black river safari but have no idea how people would get there from a cruise ship

When we visit Falmouth, we always buy Blue Mountain Coffee.

As cruisers just getting into the game, we stumbled upon your channel. Thanks so much for highlighting my beautiful island but they are not cornbreads....they are festivals. They are fried and not baked like cornbread. Also, when you're in Jamaica, it's rice and peas and not beans and rice. Great video, however!

Here in the south we fry cornbread, but Jamaica's festivals look different than our fried cornbread.
I've lived in the South for 40 years and our cornbread is always fried.

We hung out at Margaritaville & ate cheeseburgers in paradise. Bought "rastaman" magnets and some paintings from the local artists. And yes it was hot.
It’s best to book a shore excursion thru your cruise line when calling in Jamaica because it’s safer than exploring independently.
Its crazy, how they built a cruise dock right in the town i grew up i lived at the bottom of the mountains in the background, where its hot
As about 1 million comments have said (lol), it's true that Jamaicans call it "Rice and Peas" but the funny thing is that it *usually* contains kidney beans not peas so you observed correctly! Anyway, glad you enjoyed your trip.
Thanks for sharing about this excursion. I would definitely consider it on my next non-resort trip to Jamaica. You were definitely eating festival not cornbread. Your mom may not appreciate that the elephant is green lol.

I’ve thinking about taking the Harmony on a 5-night cruise this spring. We always do ocean view balcony but they’re so pricey! Your balcony looked great
I have a few kids so we are always broke and we choose the inside cabin and fit four of us in it and then sit in the solarium deck chairs or the many other comfy chairs with windows and watch the sea all day from there.......You then save heaps of money so you can go on another trip.

Its actually called Rice and Peas (not beans and rice as most Americans call it), and festival is not cornbread, its made with flour and just a little bit of cornmeal in it before being fried in hot oil

@@GriffandAlyssa I am so sorry they confused you with that...I know hispanics and other countries in the americas with a similar side item called theirs "beans and rice" so they just went along to make it easier (which honestly I have done that as well) but the I am definitely confused about the cornbread part, if you went to any other restaurant in Jamaica and asked for cornbread they would tell you "we don't carry that" cornbread is not even a common staple in Jamaica,but "Festival as well as Fried Dumplings" are a Jamaican staple for more decades upon decades. .....Love you channel though guys..keep up the good work

Cornbread - correctly described as “festival” by the Jamaican viewers …….this is the Jamaican version of “Hushpuppies” which has long been on the menu of Long Jong Silver’s, the fast food seafood chain. The taste is virtually indistinguishable, unless you’re a gourmet/food expert.

Loved the video. We have been to Jamaica quite a few times over the years since 1988. Been up Dunns River Falls multiple times. We are usually on Liberty of the Seas when we dock at Falmouth. We do miss Ocho Rios thou. We now just hang out at the pier area and shop and eat at one of the restaurants. This place you guys went to does interest us and we will probably go there next time. What is the name of the place again?

I initially didn't pick this excursion for our November Harmony cruise because it's marked "strenuous". But after watching your video, we want to try it. It is really strenuous??
Not strenuous at all!
How do you look after all your personal property when going off for a walk. We are cruising in November and have invested in some waterproof waist packs.

Since I know you have camera equipment, etc with you, did you feel safe with it or always keep it with you? We are going in March and are considering this excursion and I like to take my Nikon with me to get better pictures, but with all the reports of crime, etc on Jamaica, I wasn't sure if I should leave it on the ship and just use my phone. Also, I'm assuming the restaurant accepted cards?
I notice you have some drone footage.
Our papers from travel agent say we can’t fly drone on cruise and some islands prohibit from you flying as well. They will confiscate your drone on the ship. How did you circumvent this?
