    *Note* Although we appreciate your comments. We don't recommend such a drastically low calorie intake. This was a research challenge that we conducted that concluded in it being unrealistic and potentially dangerous over a long term. Please don't attempt this diet, we did it so you don't have to for educational purposes.

      I've been on a 1000 calorie diet for awhile. I feel fine. 18 hour fast. noon i have protein shake with kale, mixed berries, pb2, banana, and protein 350 calories. Dinner I have a 650 calories dinner, which is plenty. I lose less than a pound a day.

      @@robmorgan4637 I'm pretty much exactly the same!!
      I also have an 18 hour fast and only eat around 1000 calories a day.
      I want to lose 2lb a week, and according to the app that I use, 1200 calories a day is the right amount for that. But I never actually eat that much because I'm never hungry. 🤣

After a few months on a deficit I'll readapt to my new amount of necessary cals to maintain and consume that for a while so my body can rest and adjust to the weight loss I'll have had so far. So far, I've been sustaining it and it feels renewing for me honestly. I don't know if it's for everyone, because I have only been doing this for a week. My hunger levels are lower, and I don't get cravings as much. I also noticed how I've been eating until satiety, which has been very difficult for me in the past. Today I hit 48 (48.9 lol), but I've only gotten there through frequent fluctuations in my weight (around 49.5-50kg). This is understandable, because even with the 1000-1200kcal room I gave myself, I occasionally went over 1400 (BED, but it's getting better). I am underweight, and my body is literally dying. My ribs show when I breath, I can feel my hip bones if I am to move my hand down my belly. sometimes I puke when I eat. I look insanely ill, I have pale purple rounds under my eyes, I can barely keep them open.
    I have no extra skin in my upper chest areas, I pass out often, and I barely find enough energy to wake up at all.
    1 feel shameful for eating more then 500 calories a day. I have an eating disorder, I have been diagnosed. I have managed to fight back the shame and eat 900 calories today, but I am still losing weight. I literally cry myself to sleep if I eat more then 700 calories a day. 900 is a lot for me. Today is the only time I've felt actually full for the entire 4 month period. - on another note, I have not had my period within 2 months. I'm not sure if that's related to the eating disorder.
    I have absolutely no energy, and my vision keeps spinning and blurring.
    I have not seen a doctor for this recently.
    And no, I was never made fun of for my weight. I grew up faster than my classmates, I had more of the physical attributes of a teenager. I wanted to be like the slim jims in my class so I began starving myself. It worked, but not without cost.

    Good test. I think that you have to keep going with the diet. You would probably stop feeling hungry during the third week of the diet. I'm consuming only 949 calories a day and I'm in my third week. I feel less hungry now. However, I spent three to four weeks overeating before doing this diet, thus I may be less moody due to the extra food that I allowed myself. Congratulations on losing some inches off your waist and some weight!

    First time I gained serious belly fat was when I started working in offices. Calorie counting has taught me what a fool I have been to not count. I feel like I never wanna go over 1500 since the past 2 weeks have changed my life and my fuckin abs are popping out everywhere. Im 36 this is the first time ive had a consistent waistline and no belly fat. This is amazing i feel like im getting back my childhood. I eat what I want and it seems to never make me fatter. Simply amazing. I pack sandwich baggies full of cereals chips snacks and digitally scale them to 300, then eat 5 bags at night in an intermittent fast. Sometimes i eat other things subway veggie subs, calzones with spinach but i still do the math and use baggies. It works! Eat what you like and stay slim

    Breakfast;
    2 pears & 100g strawberries. 1 Muller light yogurt pot. Seems to fill me up or 2 poached eggs on toast
    Lunch:
    200g cucumber, 50g humus, 120g smoked salmon, slice of seeded bread and 40g dry roasted nuts (morrisons are the best)
    Dinner:
    Really varies but normally a medium/large sweet potato with a can of tuna and a few tablespoons of light mayo with baked beans or something
    Snacks:
    Seafood sticks (only 20kcals!!)
    Flavoured rice cakes
    Plums and apples
    Toast
    Bananas
    Roasted kale.

If you spend most of the day playing video games or at a desk you’ll probably be okay with 1000 calories. If you’re a busy person running around all day , working out and you play sports then ofc 1000 isn’t enough. If you feel good that’s what matters.

    His problem with this is that he isn’t fat. At my highest I had 200lbs of weight to lose. The energy is there to feel fine all the time. After the first week of doing 1200, my body got use to it. I’m not even hungry most of the time, sometimes I’ll go an entire day one meal a day with no hunger. Sometimes when I do get hungry I just walk or lift weights and by the end of the workout my hunger is gone. It’s remarkably easy now, it was way harder on my 2500 calorie diet juggling what to eat every day and seeing slow to no results. I wouldn’t recommend this to someone who needs to cut 20lbs though.
    The meal prepping is the only down side it can take me 2hrs to make the 4 meals with ingredients from scratch, beef, brown rice, beans. I have a full time job, family, so between the time to prep and workout time is limited. So I do 4 prepped meals for work days on Sunday then cook fresh or get a 800cal chipotle salad bowl for the weekend.
    Also take vitamins!

    Here’s my story with this diet: (20 year old male 5’10 and 192lbs)
    I ate 1000-1200calories a day (mainly 1000) for 7 weeks straight. Total weight loss was 28lbs (id say 4-5lbs of water weight). The key to this is to EAT WHAT YOU WANT! I ate pizzas, kebabs, loads of carb loaded breads etc and it did not matter as long as I met the 1000cal goal for the day. Drink diluted juices instead of water all the time so you don’t get sick of the diet.
    The question everyone wants to know the answer to; do you gain all the weight back once you up your calories? Simple answer... nope. I did in fairness gain the weight back due to demanding job and studies but it took me 6 months of binging on 3-4K calories a day (mainly takeaways sadly). So basically you’d have to really overeat constantly to gain the weight and at the rate I was going, I would have gained weight either way. Started the diet back up again and easy as that, lost all the weight again. Don’t currently have a job due to the quarantine so I won’t be putting it back on anytime soon :)

    I see people on here saying that they eat this low and lose weight and then the replies are always asking how to do that, etc. I’m just here to say that that is not the way to do it. keep in mind height, weight, age and gender vary the amount of calories you need but no one should be eating 1000 or even 1200 calories to lose weight, that’s WAY too low. For context I began my weight loss journey on June 11, 2019 where my starting weight was 234.6 lbs at 5’8. I am currently 19 years old and weighed in at 168.2 lbs this morning and I eat 2,300 calories a day (and I’m still trying to lose more weight). I would say I can maintain my weight with 2,700-2,900 calories. I don’t have a “fast” metabolism or great genetics, I just focus on lifting weights daily and building muscle while eating at least 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight. I also try to get in at least 10,000 steps every day and I love to play sports such as basketball or football. Even during the quarantine I am continuing to lose fat and build muscle while eating that much. Once I reach a point where I feel a bit more comfortable I will slowly increase my calories by 100 calories a day every week until my weight levels out and I will try to maintain that for the foreseeable future. I am writing all this to say that if when I first started my weight loss journey I had seen some of these people claiming to only eat 1200 calories a day I would have never even tried to get healthy. I am just telling everyone who loves food like myself that you can lose weight with a lot of food if you take your time and work on building muscle while losing the fat.

Also, our weight fluctuates from day to day, if you are weighing yourself, find a weekly medium and track that across the months. This diet isn't healthy and was done for experimental reasons. To answer your question though, yes eating 1000 calories a day will result in more weight loss for an average man as compared to an average woman because the calories a male burns per day is usually more. Note though it's weight loss, NOT fat loss. Eating this few calories will result in loss of muscle and water along with the fat which majority of people don't want to be doing. Recommend searching healthier diets! :)

    • @xenonsu8781
      @xenonsu8781 4 года назад

      @@flawz7594 Hey! This is purely my opinion only, you can always do your own research afterwards. For me, keto can be a good diet but I would still categorize it as a "fad diet" meaning people hype it up too much and expectations can be too high. If you stick to it strictly and make sure you do it with the proper research it can be effective. But what I see happening to a lot of the people I know who try keto or any other fad diet, it can tend to lead to the feeling of being able to eat anything as long as it meets the requirement of not having carbohydrates. The diet also gives too much of a negative label on carbs, which I personally enjoy eating and feel are good for you especially if you have hard workouts planned through the week. If you enjoy eating noodles, rice, bread and going keto is too drastic a change that you don't think it can be sustainable, I would suggest looking into other diets you can stick to instead. A 6 month long consistent diet you can keep would beat any 2 month long fad diet you will eventually hate. Just my 2 cents :)

I’m 21 now and recently realised I was putting on a lot of fat around the waist and stomach. I’ve decided to cut down to 1300cals a day from my previous 2500-3000. I’ve lasted 2 weeks so far and realised the last couple of days I’m not even missing eating huge amounts or getting fast food every other day. I feel healthy and good. I will probably go up to 1500-1700cals as I know 1300 probably isn’t sustainable long term and I will end up on the other end of the spectrum. But so far so good
