Alright guys, today we modify up some nerf bars for our trail banshee, tear into the engine to see what's inside and go over some of the new parts that came in and weigh them against the take offs... this could be a blood bath for wait savings...

“Some may even cry” 😂🤣
If you dont know, & as you like to polish,
you can improve clutch,
softness progressiveness (and avoid the machine which stalls in 1st, at idle).
There are glue residues between the pads of the discs,
glue which is therefore used to stick them on the disc,
if you remove them, the oil circulates much better between,
and avoid jerks'...
I was inspired by an Englishman, on trial forum if I remember,
it was +10 years ago, I don't remember the method correctly
(which worked for my trial beta 250, it no longer stalled in 1st gear at idle, otherwise I needed dextron III....). ,
basically :
With a 'dremel', and polishing discs (white),
go there very cool, do not take off disc pad clutch.
another thing nobody do
(i cant add link,
search forum trial-passion échappement bruyant
page 2 the post of fredbéta)
sorry in French, but some pics.
What's the link for the rear headlocks? Really looking for some good and cheap ones.
Mike I have a hub dyno from dyno com a great dyno in Fort Wayne IN if it’s close enough to u we’d love for u to comes use it
Never would’ve thought watching an hour long RUclips video would be something I’d enjoy but after watching a couple of yours just goes to show how amazing your videos are you’ve given me the drive and motivation to work on my own machine and the urge to wanna try custom stuff on it
I watched one of his other videos and I didn't even realize it was an hour long till I looked at the time at the end.
I second this. I am in the process of purchasing a pile of banshee parts (nearly complete and already powder coated and fresh) and these videos have me motivated. I’m going to assemble the roller and then tear down the engine. Can’t wait to see inside

For what it’s worth, I’m loving the longer vids! Feel much more connected to the build! Stoked to see this thing!
I agree!
Thank you for the feedback bro! Hope you're doing well 🤘
Doing great! Been diving into the Banshee world lately trying to get ready for a build of my own. Loving the videos!
@@jaegersracing saw the sandow; super badass! Looking forward to it.
Yes. very captivating and entertaining. It feels like 15 minutes. Probably a pain to edit for our man Sabo. Keep em coming!
The fact that it ran rich definitely helped. Theres a guy i know who is local to me. He runs his banshees on the rich side and they are pretty much indestructable. He would do burnouts after burnouts. One time the thing got so hot that both expansion chamber were glowing bright orange/yellow. It still ran good and he didn't have any issues after that.
Running then rich is good but it being red hot is how you wreck a moter rich or not
If anyone is interested, here is one video. The quality isn't amazing but you can definitely see the color on the expension chamber. Radiator pipe blew at the end and it still ran absolutely fine depsite the blown hose. which is crazy to me.

@@Levi-vf1fh i agree! I would not do this to my machine but it just shows how much abuse a 2 stroke can take when its properly dialed.
@@ryy597 duuuude that is f*ckin insane, I have no idea why that thing was running so good at the end, good ol 2 smokes😂😂
a bit rich yes but too rich will have the reverse effect and damage your motor too.
I remember when you built this motor. It’s a testament to your craftsmanship of how nicely it came apart. Nice job once again!
That's a huge compliment, thank you!
Yes dude I can’t wait to see your ripe this thing, I love the channel.
I can't wait to rip it! Thank you Greyson!
love the longer videos.and love the information you give with them
Thank you for the feedback Blake; I appreciate you watching 🤘
Im lovin your videos dude, genuinely think ive watched atleast 90% of your videos
Wow, major compliment; thank you for watching so many of my videos 🤘
no problem man, keep up the amazing work!
Love the banshee videos, you take pride in your work, and it shows all the wrench time you've done, this banshee is going to be awesome
Thank you Bobby, glad you like the videos!
Congrats for the 100K subs!Greets from Greece!
Thank you man! Greetings from the US!
As far as Banshee videos go, I don't even want to watch anyone else! Best videos on the interwebs!
Mike congratulations on 100k. Glad I could be part of this milestone. Surprised at how good the motor looked on disassembly. Goes to show how well you are at building engines. Keep up the work. 👍🏻
I’m so exited to see the end result. This build will be awesome can’t wait to see you ripping it on the trails. Great Vids Mike.🤘🏼
Thank you for the videos man…I really appreciate the detail you go into on the motor assembly and disassembly. It really helps a diy’er like me. Not many 2-stroke builders and enthusiasts in my area and I love working on my own stuff so every tip u give helps!
Thank you for watching my videos Mathew; I'm glad they help you out 🤘
Goes to show when you build an engine top notch they come apart looking like this one. Great job assembling this beast
This has motivated me to completely strip and restore my 06 se. Love the videos, any tips on straightening the front of the frame? Only where the bumper mounts, 1 of the bolts doesn't line up.
Keep doing what you're doing brother
Thank you for the love man; I'm glad I could motivate you! As far as straightening the frame; there are places that specialize in that if it's a difficult bend, but a lot of times you can get creative. I've straightened frames by using cable come-alongs and I-beams before; if there's a will, there's a way.
Idk how anyone could dislike your videos, you’re very informative, kind and funny dude, love all your vids man keep up the awesome work
Banshees are front heavy, so maybe the extra weight of the rear tires may help balance the machine, Kenda's with bead lock looks like an awesome setup
100%, we are at least putting the weight on the correct end
Got lucky and saw the video pop up in my feed right as I sat down to eat. Prime time videos!
Thank you for watching Gavin!
I'm loving the banshee series! Not many people putting killer content out like you, best atv content on RUclips hands down
Keep it up mike love you and the videos, can’t wait for the next one
Thanks so much for watching matt!
Now that's what i am talking about Mike, Perfect Name Choice Just wait till you are in the trails, The Voodoo Spirits will be Watching out for you.. Thank you for the shout out man,
Glad to be apart of your channel, Now get the voodoo Hoodies ready i want one lol
Good job on the name for sure I am ready for hoodies to lol
Oh you can bet there will be Voodoo Banshee Gear! Thanks again for inspiring the name!
Dude! Great rebrand, Great content and honestly, this is the best stuff you've put out so far. I feel like I got in on the ground floor with you and I can't wait to see where you go next.
this banshee is one of the cleanest ive ever seen carry on what your doing
Sabo is a certified bad ass! No doubt about it. Builds are incredible and your skits are funny asf
I can't believe how durable those pis. And cylinders are ,WOW! Those ball joints pullers are the best I bought some for my quad.
Appreciate all the work you share
I appreciate you watching Beverly 🤘
Thank you so much Michael you could’ve made a 30 minute video and I’ll still be happy but you decided to make a one hour video which takes a lot of effort and you still manage to put a bunch of edits in there too I just want to thank you man for putting out amazing content and making my day💪🏻💯
Thank you for the kind words bro! I'm glad you're enjoying the longer videos 🤘
That motor looks so good coz your the friking boss at building motors Mike! Just goes to show, the more time and effort you put in to building things right.. the longer they'll last.. it sure does pay to do things right! 💪💪💪💪💪💪👍👍👍
At least you give tips and don’t time lapse everything appreciate it my guy 🤟🏾
Hopefully it helps your algorithm out, but I went through and made sure I was “liked” on every single video you have... and I realized I had likes all the way back to when you removed spray paint on plastic and had a KX85... before your “500 subscriber” video that you put out. I guess I didn’t even realize it but I’ve been on your channel since damn near the beginning.. that’s CRAZY to see how far your videos have come. I’m completely baffled right now after going that far back in your videos. Awesome job man, for real, I really mean that!!
Man greasing the gaskets is where it's at. I was worried about my intake gaskets leaving gasket stuck everywhere but nah they came off super clean.
Congratulations on 100k! Best of luck with Basket Case Garage~~
I love all theese new videos! You’ve come a long way since I started watching years ago 👍
Glad you're loving the new videos; thanks for watching for so long 🤘
Love the new name and the channel!! Congrats on 💯k !!
Bro the intro warning🤣🤣🤣 ( in fact I have no idea what I’m talking about) that’s amazing
😂 I wasn't sure if anyone would notice that
"1.5 pound to 7 pounds with aluminum one " i had to rewind to hear that right !! awesome build man.just had to bust your balls lol ..great video!
Dude 2022 is gonna be a huge year for your channel, I can't wait to see how this rebuild turns out and what other projects you do along the way 💪🏻
I can’t believe you are only at 100k you deserve more. Your content is the best I’ve ever seen. Keep up the good work
for the stripped screws, look for an impact driver. its like a screw driver that when hit with a hemmer it pushes inward to bite the screw and is internally rifled to twist the screws. everything with a screw on my bikes i give a tap to remove easily, and a tap to snug them back tight.
Thank you for the tip!
I had to use one the other day. Me and my 9 year old are rebuilding a 2004 yz85 that has been in a barn for 15 years with the cylinder off and all the screws behind the magneto were already stripped and the impact driver broke them all loose with a crack from a mallet. I wish I could post pics on what that motor looked like but my son cleaned up every gear and replaced the bearings, installed a new crank and polished the whole crankcase. You would never know it had sat years before he was even born.
@@bdog4u2 awesome to hear he is doing all that at only 9; I'm sure he is picking up a lot for you.
Great as always. I learn so much from your Videos. Can't wait to see this project coming together and hear the Banshee scream again. Love from Europe.
Try a 10” wide rear that would be interesting to see what it weighs! Good job on the bike mike I like your out side the box thinking and being different.
Excellent video sir. I really liked the weight comparisons. Glad to see the shoulder is healing up/recovering for you.
Thank you Ted!
Love the videos!! Really brings me back to when i rode and lived next to the pagoda motor cycle track!!
Your killing it bro. 🇺🇸🤟
I hang all my old parts on my wall in the garage, i am also a sentimental banshee owner haha
100% this
Love your videos man straight to the point little bit of humor I think your doing a great job and also very helpful for those of us that like to work on our stuff. Keep it up man 👍
Man I've carried that Milwaukee Hackzawll with me in a short ride with a pruning blade to do trail maintenance. It's an amazing tool to have
I did the same mod to my air box years ago, I used 3/8 delrin on top of the shock mount as a spacer and cut the tabs off for the coolant bottle, keep up the work good man 👍
I worked at rath racing in high school. He once got a titanium chassis bolt kit for a Honda 450. I installed every bolt marked the excess thread (maybe 1/4 Inch on most)and ground them down to the bare minimum length. Just supports your guess that, yes the fastest racers do modify everything.
Awesome vid and edits and filming and bikes and builds and shop and knowledge and tools and products. Congrats on 100k subscribers
I really enjoy watching makes my day thank you
Finally, been waiting for this video love the content keep up the good work man 🤙
Thank you for waiting and watching! 🤘
I’ve been waiting I’m so happy
I appreciate you waiting dude!
wish i found you tube sooner,, love the content specially 2 strokes even 4 strokes is decent but im old school so love my 2 bangers
Excited to see the result!
Love all your videos micheal!!
I'm going to try the dielectric grease on the house trick!! Thanx
Congratulations on 100k bro. Let's get to 200k this year!!
Coors light and Michael Sabo video YAY!
Allways good content.. Keep it up bro!!
I’ve been a sub for a hot minute and I’ve never been so excited for a series!
That's awesome to hear; thank you for following along!
100000 , Congrats buddy !!!! 👍
Portuguese fellows are a Hugh fan of banshee atv. I don't think they consider to lost height on Tha machines, I definitely advice them to watch this video. And I learn a new way to dismount balt joints. Hughes 👍
Coming along nicely. I especially like the custom nerf bar setup nice work! Nice surprise at the end with the shirts being in. Looking forward to rocking mine🤘
Good job bro she is moving right along
I appreciate you Dave 🤘
Love to see the vids. 4:39 : take stuf ON and putit back ON.
I know I know 😂 I was shaking my head when editing
Wow great job on all that custom work!! I wouldn’t trust myself cutting into new parts
On my
Banshee I made a crossbar at the bottom
Of the frame and put holes in it then made a brace for the bottom of the motor with Haim joints on each side of a bar and bolted them up so the motor has alittle extra bracing
im digging the progress on the banshee. i cant wait to see the powder coat ed parts and graphics you get on her.
The longer videos are a must from now on. If you could make a new video everyday of the week that would epic. I really like the custom fab work you do, it makes me want to be more open with my future builds!
I’m actually going to be building a full lone star raptor 660 and the be able to see the front hubs makes me pretty happy with my decision 😁 can’t wait to see the banshee take shape
Also weighing the parts is a game changer keep it up 👍
@33:00 you need an impact screw driver. I got mine from harbor freight for $10 I think. TOTAL life saver. It rotates as you tap the end of the tool with a hammer. I originally bought it for rotor screws and ended up using it every time I get that uncomfortable feeling we all get when we see a Phillips head
Hi i just want to let you know the i love the channel and the video you do cause I learn how to find some problems on motorcycles and atv so Good looking out from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 and god bless you and your family you are the best
Hi Jorge, thank you for the kind words and for supporting my channel!
Congrats on 100k bro!!! This is already a sick build. And deff liking the weighing parts up factor. I haven't seen this before. And I build almost exclusively banshees so I'm super curious to know weights of parts!!! Killer idea dude!!!
Hell yea Den, thank you for the congrats and all of the support over the years dude; I have a lot more weight savings on the way with this build 🤘
@@MichaelSabo hell yeah, I'm stoked dude!!! What ur doing with this build has been in the back of my mind on every banshee I build. And I want good lightweight parts on my 521. My 521 actually makes for a sweet trail bike. And I have all the power ill ever need for any situation!!!! U should do a 521 build one of these winters ahead lol
@@dennisbrooks186 I'd love to man. I bet it's got the torque for trails and major power for the straights
Very interesting nerf bar setup
I’m very excited to the the power of the cub stock bore. Also the new name sounds sweet good for you man!
I know that I am biased to Yamaha 2-stoke bikes but, The Yamaha Banshee is hard to beat with any factory bike. With modifications, a Banshee can destroy any naysayers.
Great job mike! Can’t watch the progress!! Hope the shoulder is doing better,
they gonna look gorgeous !!
This is gonna be a super sick build
Thank you Owen!
Sprocket weighs... 7lb 8oz🤣🤣 Love your content man!
I weigh parts wet. But you are riding in dry areas so no need. Thanks for the video sir!
This is working so great!! I think I'll change it 😆
Can’t wait until you finish the beast 😮💨
Nice attention to detail man.
100k good job bro 😎
Thank you Josh!
I use to run alot of tusk stuff back.in the day on my 450's. Never had a issue with any of the parts good prices to
Proof in the pudding, this was great work.
You could mount the rubber bumpers onto the bottom of the air box n not to the frame..
Great info..great videos..big fan!
That's true but then if they aren't placed just right, they won't hit the frame if that makes sense. If they're on the frame, the airbox can be mounted in any position and they will still support the box.
I think those hubs are the very last place you should be looking to shed weight
best youtuber
Thank you bro!
You have inspired me to take on a build and I just finished it
coming along nicely. not stoked about the name change but i’ll give it a chance lol
Pro tip drill holes in the clutch cover on the motor it saves like 2 and a half ounces
Love the custom stuff. That is the difference between a "Build" and a "Put it back together". It's all in the details, 🤘✌
I don't think your welds are "crappy looking". They will become better looking to you the more you weld.
Absolutely running it rich helps! Fuel acts somewhat like a coolant as well!
What was your peeper doing out while you were taking wrist pin clips out?! Oh. PEEPer. Eyeball. Gotcha. ;)
We put a tusk rear axle in a kid's TRX450R. Had to retighten the hub nuts twice. Just something to keep an eye on.
I don't know if you're gonna like that aluminum rear sprocket. They just don't last like a steel one.
Thank you for the feedback on all of this; you had me laughing with the peeper thing 😂
Have you been watching vice grip garage? Love it
I do watch Vice Grip!! Great channel.
Love watching the builds man, my dad has a banshee that he got brand new in 97 that I want to do a full build on!
Thank you for make us happy dude 🤩🤩🤩 Keep up
