TODD IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ARTIST OF THE LAST 50 YEARS. HE IS THE MASTER PRODUCER, ENGINEER AND EXCELLENT SONGWRITER/SINGER, OF MANY HUNDREDS OF SONGS, GROUPS AND MUSICAL ARTISTS. THIS SONG, “LOVE IS THE ANSWER “ HAS BEEN NOMINATED FOR SONG OF THE CENTURY. I SAW TODD AND UTOPIA LIVE IN HAWAII IN 1978, AND THE CONCERT WAS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE, WONDERFUL MUSIC AND MEANINGFUL SONGS, I COULD HARDLY BELIEVE JUST 4 GUYS COULD SOUND SO GREAT AND TOTALLY PROFESSIONAL, WITH ABSOLUTELY PERFECTION. AFTER THE FIRST SONG, EVERYONE IN THE AUDIENCE HAD THEIR MOUTHS OPEN IN AWE FOR ABOUT 10 SECONDS INCLUDING MYSELF. WE ALL WERE SHOCKED TO WITNESS A GROUP THAT SOUNDED SO FANTASTIC, AND THE WHOLE REST OF THE CONCERT WAS ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE AND THE MUSIC GOT BETTER AND BETTER. NOT ONE WRONG NOTE OR BEAT! DEFINITELY ONE OF THE HIGHEST POINTS OF MY LIFE. TODD WAS INDUCTED INTO THE ROCK AND ROLL HALL OF FAME THIS YEAR, AND THAT LONG OVERDUE FOR SUCH AN INCREDIBLY GIFTED MUSIC MAKER OF THE FINEST QUALITY AND LISTENABILITY. HE IS STILL WRITING EXCELLENT, RELEVANT MUSIC AND CONCERTIZING, AT 73! HE IS BEYOND QUESTION THE RACHMANINOV OF OUR TIME, AND POSSIBLY THE MOST UNDERRATED, UNDERHEARD ARTIST OF THE LAST HALF CENTURY. LONG LIVE TODD RUNDGREN AND HIS MUSIC!🎹🎶🌈🤙🏼😊
I am a Utopia fan, and this song is a high water mark. The lyrics are beautiful, as is the performance. Thanks for finding this obscure gem. England Dan and John Ford Coley had a hit with a cover of this, but the Utopia version is superior due to its soulfulness.
Thank you thank you! For cracking open the Todd Rundgren door. The lyrics to this go deep. That line is more like "We are homeless boys and girls, and we are never heard." To me it means we all have this child in us looking to be loved and to feel safe. This man wrote and produced on so many others albums. His solo career and work with Utopia - treasures upon treasures. His song God Said is pure medicine. I was born with music like ConFunkShun, Cameo, Old school Santana and El Chicano in my blood, but Todd is artist and teacher - cannot be denied. Hello It's Me, Beginning of the End, I Saw the Light. Oh, did I mention The Isley Brothers remade Hello It's Me (masterfully remade). Thanks J, you made my night.
I love Todd Rundgren’s voice, so light and the range is beautiful. He is known as a great songwriter. This song was covered by England Dan and JohnFord Coley in a bit more soft-rock feel that was a bit hit in the 1970s.
Todd was a great songwriter. His hit song" Hello it's me" was also recorded by the Isley brothers."Love is the answer" was a hit for England Dan and John Ford Coley in 1979 two years after this release by Utopia.Very meaningful lyrics.👍
We always called Hall and Oats, no disrespect, " The almost Todd Rundgrens."

Todd's music flows like a fact of life: it's what makes it so special. His songs develop a progression with shades of harmonies that were conceived to reflect the world through art. I love that you react for what you like and not for the public or expecting thousands to see you. Thank you for reacting to this beautiful Utopia theme.
If you're after Todd songs ... he's such a prolific artist. Into lyrics? Listen to "Sometimes I Don't Know What To Feel" and "Parallel Lines." Excellent, and relative, lyrics. Wanna hear some Philly "white soul" -- (Todd is from Philly) try "Fair Warning," off the Initiation album.
Beautiful! fantastic song. what's great about this though is listen to his other stuff. when you can go from a song like 'Trapped' to 'the marriage of heaven and hell' to THIS on one album....seriously talented banD
Hes singing about the chemical romance happening inside us.... the darkness and the light within learning to free ourselves. Ascending to the upper room on the right side and allowing the christ child to be born.
Hey JJ. You can try Love in Action from the same band and same album. In fact anything from this album is absolutely spot on. Keep the Tood Rundgren and/or Utopia coming.
Right on 🤙🏼 I love it when the younger generations discover my dads music. There’s so much to discover
Rex, your dad is amazing! He's been my favorite musician for over 40 years.
Your dad's music was my dad's jam. Todd always brings back endless summer afternoons riding in Dad's car listening to Todd, Yes, Steely Dan, etc.
seen your dad probably 100 plus times over years only musician tour i never miss
I knew your grandma Ruth! She was one cool lady. Made a big impression on me as a young lad.
@@CoachAdamRuns awesome. Are you from Philly?
out of this world ..song….just amazing..

Todd and Utopia are still around. Todd is a huge influence. I've been listening to Todd since 1973. You should look for more.

God Said. What a song! One of the most underrated artists ever!
Chills! Love Utopia/Todd!
I have all Todd's albums and a quite a few of Utopia's too. This is one of their most beautiful songs.
One of Todd's million great songs. His music is very consistent and always wonderful.
Todd Rundgren was just elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021 - check out his appearances on Live at Daryl's House
Todd had always been ahead of his time! I'm glad you found him:)
Thanks for the review. One of the most underrated artists ever. Check out his solo work as well!

I saw Utopia live in 1974!! 💥
Such an unmistakable and iconic MELODY 🎼🎶 and an even better MESSAGE. TR’s music is such a treasure.

Was a great songwriter? Still is!!
Todd Rundgren never fails to warm my soul!
Stumbled upon this again today. Todd is actually a Philly boy & came up the ranks along with Hall & Oats. Philly-soul brothers! ♥️✌️
We always called Hall and Oats, no disrespect, " The almost Todd Rundgrens."

You really gave this tune a serious listen. Thank you for taking the time! #RESPECT
Todd Rundgren " Hello it's me" great song too
Todd Rundgren, or his band Utopia, have an entire song about homelessness. Song is called Bag Lady.
Todd is also a great producer - Meat Loaf's "Bat Out of Hell" album, Badfinger "Straight Up" and many other artists.
Todd's album "Something, Anything" is a music masterpiece.
Love is the answer indeed thanks for posting such an inspirational song peace and love too all
Increíble música y muy buena versión de Todd !!!
Excellent choice. Next level song, all the way.
Todds from Philadelphia
" Hello it's me " an awesome track and " I saw the light " by Tod Rundgren.
Not sure how I missed this one! Brilliant song. Brilliant album. Well, Todd is just brilliant, period!
Great song. Todd is still making music.
England Dan and John Ford Coley had a Top Ten Hit with their cover of this song.
the Hello it's me joint by Rundgren is a dope song
Wow… I haven’t heard this song in many many years… Great song, great thoughts… Todd Rundgruen is amazing. You should check out Black Mariah by Todd…
I loved Todd Rudgren's music but never really bought any of it. Hmmmm, I like hearing this again.
Brilliant song
A song about hope, humanity, and brotherhood. It could very well be a church song.
Song goes hard asf
Beautiful! fantastic song. what's great about this though is listen to his other stuff. when you can go from a song like 'Trapped' to 'the marriage of heaven and hell' to THIS on one album....seriously talented banD
Please give a listen to Todd’s Healing album from 1981.
It’s an amazing journey for the ears and the soul.
Hes singing about the chemical romance happening inside us.... the darkness and the light within learning to free ourselves. Ascending to the upper room on the right side and allowing the christ child to be born.
Doctor My Eyes is one I frequently listen to by Todd
You gotta hear him live!!! Never forget a live performance!!
Hey JJ. You can try Love in Action from the same band and same album. In fact anything from this album is absolutely spot on. Keep the Tood Rundgren and/or Utopia coming.
Todd has a whole solo career away from Utopia.. Many albums and songs.
If you like this try Caravan, The road to Utopia or the album Ra. They also did a good version of For the love of money.
Might check out a recent Foxes and Fossils cover of this.
Check out this song sung by England Dan and John Ford Coley, they had a massive hit with it
Ah, you are into my first album of them. Next song, put your seat belt on….Trapped
☮️💙💙💙
Remember listening to Nazz….
Nice!
Better than England Dan’s remake imho
The best remake of “Love Is the Answer” is by the Foxes and Fossils! Check it out! Even Todd has remarked about their remake.
Dudeyou have no idea
