hi Gwen, I've been a subscriber to your channel for quite a year now. I want to say how much I appreciate and enjoy your contents. all your works are so thoughtful and inspiring. I started out my hobby with sewing, followed up with crochet and lately knitting, and your videos are just delivered! I learned so much from your videos, your attention to details always amazed me. I like the idea that we can never stop learning in every pieces that we make and get to savour the joy of constructing though it may never turn out to be perfect . thank you for all the amazing works, thank you for being you 🤗. Happy belated new year !
Hi Yan, thank you much for taking the time to leave such a lovely comment! I’m so happy to hear that you enjoy my videos. 🥹 I’m saving this in my motivation folder. 💖 This will help keep me motivated when the going gets tough. Happy New Year to you too! 🥰 x Gwen
Thanks you for the video Gwen! Having you explain how to work out the gauge and all the measurements was so helpful. I've decided to work mine from the top down instead of from the bottom up so I can easily try it on as it goes. I've used Judy's magic cast on to start and just halved the amount of stitches for the measurement around the back of the head for the cast on. I haven't completed it yet but it's looking really good! 🥰
The shape of a bonnet without a pixie point is quite different! Rather than just being a rectangle.. there's another protruding section that comes out which goes over the top of your head. So before sewing all the seams together, the flat piece looks like an upside-down short T. Try cutting a small scale on paper and folding it together to visualise it! 😁 The next hurdle would be figuring out the size of the upside-down T to fit your head.. hehe
I used 1 hank of the Malabrigo Rasta yarn which is listed as 82 meters on their website. It’s actually a TEENY bit less than that since I also made my swatch from the same hank.

How many meters of yarn did you use in total?
I used 1 hank of the Malabrigo Rasta yarn which is listed as 82 meters on their website.
