I might have an addiction to this show............and I'm okay with it 😊
I am right with ya!!!! Every day "What new ones have been posted!!!!???" Hope we get lots like yesterday!
Oh yeah I need my daily people's court fix!!!
Me too. Who is your dealer, I need me some more of that People's Court. 😂

Me too I got my chips and soda watching this
If I had to pick only one lesson that The People's Court has taught me, it would be, NEVER get involved in other people's phones and phone contacts.
#2 would be, get a used car inspected.
With pay as you go phone I don't understand why anyone does!!

The first flag is you OWN mother doesn’t have a phone plan with her! 😂
Exactly - and the grandmother stopped so she was obv fed up with her.
Don't buy a phone for a person and expect them to pay when they're "actively looking for a job".. you don't get paid for looking for a job. She could be actively looking for a job for years!
Unfortunately, that is what usually happens, especially when these permanent job seekers find people they can latch onto for freebies.
Hey I’m actively looking for a job while my gf making my car payments… Don’t judge me cuz I’m eating Cheetos & watching RUclips right now.
Exactly and baby sitting is not consistent. Unemployment is more consistent. That's something every month. I paid college tuition and had a baby by 19.. I moved out by 22 and my dad still paid my phone cuz he knew I was struggling. By 24 I was more financially stable and paid my own phone bill . Phone was the least of my worries . I had rent , a kid to worry about
@@bash547 As long as you are filling out applications while you're on RUclips lol.

What Dad?
They both seem like very nice people. This is why you don’t mix family with money in this way, too many things can go wrong. Especially when there’s a teenager involved…lol
I totally agree and I’m glad they will actually , talk again soon !
(i havent watch the video yet theyre introducing them as i type this)
who do you mix money with then??
do you just never help your family members? or do you only help them if it’s *not* a loan or borrow, but instead a gift or favor?
what about when you need help, do you not ask family?
Mixing money with family is inevitable and it naturally involves teenagers in many cases. Life is full of challenges and usually those challenges are connected to matters involving money in one way or another.
I would say that you have a very valid point to make and I would only modify it by saying this: If they can't afford it but can live without it then they should not buy it in the first place. If they are a good person then they will choose to live without it rather than steal it. If you choose to pay for it with any notion that you aren't actually the one who is buying it, then you are a fool and you are making them a victim of your bad decision.
@@googleyt2622 I would also add that we should never agree to financially help out if we could be financially hurt in the case that a family member can't meet the payment agreements.
@@MoNehNeh17 You do not go into financial DEALS with family. It's a recipe for disaster. If anyone from my family asks for help, I'd only agree to give them money as a gift, and that would be whatever I can afford. I would never loan family money because if they are not paying, that's a ruined relationship right there.
And heck, it might not even be financial deals. It could be something like staying at your house. If you say yes to that, then be willing to accept if they overstay because kicking out a family member from your house who doesn't contribute anything is also a ruined relationship. If you value them and the relationship you have with them, DO NOT go into these sort of deals with them. Something as stupid as a phone bill can be the end of a bond with a family member.
I have always said" we need as many people to love our kids as possible"
It takes a village.
But also don't expect anybody else to raise your kids for you
Judaism teaches that as well.
NO, It depends on the people, quality over quantity.ITS Easy to have 20 people around who usually don't have jobs, hanging out, going nowhere, as opposed to only 5 or 6 people who work, have good standards and are excellant role models for your child.
@@bonkers5416 it takes 2 good hearted married parents, male and female with love, integrity AND Godly values.

Beware with kids that aren't yours.
Cars, phones, loans no good
The unfortunate part is that she doesn’t know these people or her son’s half sister. She took a chance and it bit her in the butt. Even though the girl is young, she’s an adult. She does this in any financial situation, there would be loads of repercussions: late fees, interests rates, eviction/disconnect notices, lawsuits, etc.
Got to the point where it now became a lawsuit.
Plaintiff is very good kind hearted woman. It's a shame people have a tendency of taking advantage of others kindness.
Right like come on her son is 7 and half months it’s no way in hell she should’ve been helping her sister I’m sorry they don’t even have a relationship yet that’s asking for to much and pushing boundaries
Aw. She’s just young. Still a lot more learning to do which is understandable. Praying for their relationship!
Yes, you are right she is young and learning. But she still knows someone needs to pay the bill. So either get a job, and get a phone. Or no job, no phone.

She's just young and dumb , We've all been there maybe not with the phone issue like her but yeah. She'll learn eventually we all have , I was probably 16 almost 17 when I started working. I worked for a family friends company making around $700-800 every 2 weeks , I had to learn the hard way you have to save and not burn through money and only buy what's important or what you'll use or need. I even went shopping with my grandmother and bought her groceries for her.
I learned how to have responsibility , She will too some day as long as she has someone to help her learn that.

So far, I was on defendents side if the plaintiff said she can keep the phone. However, if a lawsuit is against me and all I need to do is return the phone to get it dropped, return the phone!!!
The Defendant is a young adult but an adult. She should have a job to sustain herself. She wants a phone then buy it and get your own plan and pay your own bill.
When my children were too young to get jobs they did odd and end things to earn money like helping people move, cut grass, cutting hair, braiding hair.
I purchased their first phones and paid their bills because THEY EARNED THEM. Once they got old enough to work(which is 16)they purchased whatever phone they wished.
Grandma stopped paying for her phone and the Plaintiff shoulda never started.

The only reason I disagree with that is because that’s less money for the child
@@Nevaeh1 If the father was abusive, it's worth having less $ for the mother and the child to be away from him.
Of course we can ! Strong mama club
@@Nevaeh1 I had that same convo with my family when I left my husband, he never paid and I got tired of tracking him down. He never signed over legally he just wasn’t involved. My family always said my son deserves that money, it’s not about us adults. While I understood their point of view, I worked hard to make sure my son had everything he needed and wanted on my own. I think I was a happier and healthier parent bc I didn’t have the stress of court and tracking him down and fighting over money he wouldn’t pay even if the court told him to. My son is 13 now and his dad pops up around birthdays and holidays to send a gift but that’s it, he actually just asked me this month what does our son want for his birthday. I had to tell him we have plenty of time bc his birthday isn’t until may….he thought it was in March, so that shows how much he even knows about his own kid. My son has formed his own opinions about his father based on their relationship or lack there of, I haven’t told him stories of what we went thru or the split, I’ve told him obviously the good stories of us meeting, married, him being born and stuff but I don’t dirty his vision of his dad. I don’t think the money would change that opinion either, and I don’t think it would’ve changed his life because he’s always been well taken care of. Even when I struggled I never let it affect him. Thankfully now I have a good savings and feel secure and safe. A part of me does wish I forced child support just so he had to think of him every month he saw that money leave his account…..but forcing someone to pay won’t make them be a father. It’s such a tough call and I think each parent needs to do what’s best for their kid.
@@Sara-xk1ns I love your comment! So many great points, that you gave.
People need to stop loaning money and helping people who don't have jobs or don't have a good track record with paying bills. It ruins friendships and relationships with family. I hope this young lady does continue to have a relationship with her little brother despite this.

Three things to never give a teenager: Your credit card, a car and a cellphone.
There’s multiple sides to every story. This was my case (Jada Woodall) & it was filmed almost 10 years ago. Keep in mind that on court shows, my case for example, they did take the phone on camera & said I owed her 300+, but the moment we stepped off camera I was handed back the phone PLUS given money to be on the show. Not that it needed to be explain, but y’all have a good day 🥰

Do you still see your brother
This is what I don't like about The Peoples Court. There's a fund set up to pay both sides. The judgement if any is taken from that and given to the winning litigant and the remainder is divided equally between both litigants. You know that win or lose, you were still getting paid and thus you lost nothing. That teaches nothing about responsibility or consequences.
Seems like half the cases on PC are about cell phones and people being added to the account.
Pre Paid services do exist- Let her get her own line…..extra drama for no reason 🙄

80 dollar bill for a 19 year old? I’m 29 and I just now started paying my phone bill my mom was paying it before. It’s not realistic to expect a child to pay a phone bill that high. Our phone bill now is 43 but 13 of it is my phone so super affordable plan, before that is was 25.
Right, I'm way older and no way will I ever have a cell phone bill over $50, and I could afford to pay $80, if I was so inclined. My cell phone bill stays around the $40ish or lower monthly payments.
You're 29 and just started paying your own phone bill? That says it all about your point of view on this case and she's not a child. She's an adult and if she wants to enjoy certain privileges, she should pay for them herself.

How old is this case? A lot of companies now only have contracts on the phone where as the line is essentially month to month. They can talk talk talk to ANYONE ANYWHERE and text until their hands bleed and it cost me the same. doesn't matter if they want the newest IPHONE or SAMSUNG i still pay the same. I only use 4 of the line and have 1 extra for just in case. but i still pay the same. I love it
This reminds me so much of a similar situation that happened in our family. Hopefully their situation works out better than ours did because the young lady in our situation cut ties with the whole family.
