At 2:59, I explain how to convert the photo into a Smart Object. After you complete making the card, you can replace the photo by double-clicking the thumbnail of the Smart Object in the Layers panel. It will open the original source photo. Place the new photo above it in the Layers panel and hide the original photo. Remove the background behind the new photo as you did with the original photo. Close the tab of the Smart Object (.psb) and click OK when the message pops up asking if you want to replace the original photo.

Hi, Working on the tutorial - adding the card layer - using the rectangle tool - the square that says pixel in the tutorial isn't visible on my PS - current version - So I can't round the corners. Suggestion?
First, thank you being a Channel Member! Over the years, Adobe has changed so many features in Photoshop, I can't keep track of which versions have or don't have them. I know there were work-arounds for rounding corners in the rectangle tool, but it's been so long since I worked on earlier versions that frankly, I've forgotten them. By the way, many filters don't work unless the image mode is correct. Go to Image > Mode > RGB color, 8 bits/Channel.
Found my error - the Rectangle Marquee tool and the Rectangle tool are not the same tool... I was using the Rectangle Marquee tool. Hope your New Year if off to a great start.
