    Ill go there next June (not the best time, but maybe less crowded and not too rainy :)) you've been there in September 2023? :)

      I was actually there in July of 2023! I’m sure you’ll do just fine. It rained here and there but only for brief periods of time. We still had great weather! I’m sure everything will work out in your favor! Let me know how your trip goes!

      Why is June not a good time to go? We are thinking about June as well.

    • @BackpackGringo
      @BackpackGringo  Месяц назад

      @EmilyDiaz83 It just falls in the “rainy season” in the Caribbean…(May-November). I would google average rainfall per month to get a better idea.

    Maybe I missed it in the video, but when is the busy season?

    • @BackpackGringo
      @BackpackGringo  3 месяца назад +1

      December through April is the dry season. These months are considered to be the busiest!

    Are the golf cart rentals easily available? Or should these be booked in advance?

    • @BackpackGringo
      @BackpackGringo  Год назад +1

      We ended up calling around to the golf cart rentals on google maps to find the best price. Everyone seemed to inventory, but I cannot speak to when it’s the popular season. If you’re going during a busy time, I would imagine it would be best to try messaging a few people a few days before you arrive to confirm if there’s inventory. The one we rented from (I forgot the name), ended up dropping the golf cart off at our Airbnb, so that was nice! You can always ask to see if they’ll do the same.
      Hope this helps!

    What requirements do you need to rent a golf cart? International driver’s license?

    • @BackpackGringo
      @BackpackGringo  10 месяцев назад +2

      None at all! Just show a passport and you’re good to go

      Yes! Your international driver’s license will do it. 😊

    What’s the name of the downtown area to stay?

    • @BackpackGringo
      @BackpackGringo  9 месяцев назад +1

      I’m not entirely sure. It’s the very north east side of the island near Playa Spatt

    • @SanAndresSinComunicacion
      @SanAndresSinComunicacion 7 месяцев назад

      You can stay in the centro area “downtown” or if you prefer to stay right in front of the beach, you could go for a hotel in the pathway “peatonal”

    Is this place safe?

    • @BackpackGringo
      @BackpackGringo  9 месяцев назад +1

      Yes, I would say it’s safe! I think the only thing that could happen to a tourist would be petty theft, but that just means don’t walk around late at night on empty streets. Just be smart and aware of your surroundings, which is the general rule of thumb when traveling around the world.

      @@BackpackGringo Thank you! My Colombian girlfriend want to go there for her birthday. How is the English on the island?

    • @BackpackGringo
      @BackpackGringo  9 месяцев назад +1

      No problem, I went there with my Colombian girlfriend as well 😅 Yes, they do speak english, Spanish, some French and creole there. So as an English speaker, you’ll be fine!

    IS OK TO BRING US DOLLARS AND COLOMBIAN PESOS? OR JUST DOLLARS IS OK?

    • @BackpackGringo
      @BackpackGringo  3 месяца назад

      The currency there is COP (Colombian Pesos). They may accept USD in some places but you’d get a bad exchange rate. When traveling, I find that the ATMs often give you the best rate. So I wouldn’t bother bringing a lot of USD, as you can just go to an ATM and pull out COP!
