There are certain things Aldi does great, some things they do adequately, some things they do so-so, some things not so great. It really depends on the market they're in even locally across demographic groups I've found. plus how quickly a family can consume certain things before they get lame is important. Produce and bread needs quick turnover. Some frozen items are lacking. Dairy can't be beat on price. Meat? Not very often is it that great... I personally love the canned macaroni and beef for a quick meal or a "very late-beer involved" snack lol. Cereal is outstanding and cheap and discernable from many name brands. The gourmet dips, spreads, and especially charcuterie packages are some of the best values ever!
I agree with you on much of that. Their produce is always good but as you know they have "basic" fruits and veggies. If you read the label nutritionally they can be a bit scary but so is every american grocery store. They have been expanding their vegan stuff which is a good thing. The isle of shame is always good.. they got me this week. lol
I will try those cookies next time I go to Aldi. I already buy their Benton's chocolate chip cookies. Some things are really much cheaper there. Prices in general are getting crazy!
