    Just starting out with airbrushing. I don’t have a compressor and gun for spraying the base coats as you demonstrate. Can these products be sprayed with just an airbrush?

    Is it possible to use the autobourne sealer directly onto steel? Does it adhere well? I'd be using it for a project that would not be exposed to rain/water.

    Hi Simon ... thanks for such a clear and concise video. I have learnt so much in less than 15 minutes!!
    I do have a question though. As a new venture, I am going to be painting old pieces of EPNS or Silver plated items to include teapots, candle sticks, etc. Some of these items may be seriously tarnished and contain residues of old cleaning solutions. Could you possibly let me know the following:
    1. What preparation would you do and what would be your first layer to ensure a good paint adhesion?
    2. Some of these items may need washing up ... do you think the Createx External Clear Coats would be okay for the final treatment layer ... allowing for immersion in hot soapy water?
    Thanks for your help.
    Sally

      Hi Sally, I would use a red scotch bright pad and an alcohol cleaner. I would then use Createx Scenix clear
      for both an initial coat and also a top coat.

    Was the steel resanded after the self etching primer?

    • @SMDesignsAirbrush
      @SMDesignsAirbrush  5 лет назад

      no Ronakaweed The Autoborne sealer I used was shot after 15-20 mins followed by fairly heavy masking, however it would do no harm to scuff with a red scotch bright pad especially if you were using normal paint.

    Hello, would you use the AutoBorne sealer on styrene as well? I've been thinking to dab more in to createx paints with my model building since I've had so many issues with other brands. Been testing Createx a bit and so far like it, though I've used Opaque Black or White from the wicked line as a primer.
    Thanks for a great video! Seem there's not a lot of videos covering Createx products...

    • @SMDesignsAirbrush
      @SMDesignsAirbrush  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Andreas, yes the Autoborne will work fine on styrene.

      @@SMDesignsAirbrush Nice, thank you. I will have to check it out. Tired of my model paint primer ripping of with regular masking tape... Tried cleaning parts, sanding parts.. have not helped. So far Createx seem to adhere a lot better.

      @@ficklampa if you are having any problems a coat of 5092 flexible adhesion promoter first will do the trick! you can follow the links below the video for more info.

      @ficklampa 5 лет назад

      @@SMDesignsAirbrush Thanks for the tip, I will try with the AutoBorne sealer first and see if that works, if not I will try that - though it seems 5092 is more for latex?

    • @SMDesignsAirbrush
      @SMDesignsAirbrush  5 лет назад

      @@ficklampa yes more for latex but but it was just a suggestion if you are having problems with adhesion, you would still be obliged to spray the Autoborne sealer after the 5092
