Holy hell, I was breaking my skull trying to print directly from single pages of the PDF, and it scaled it down and had an ugly gap in the middle. Didn't know I could export the PDF ready to print from inDesign, THANK YOU.
Another great and very helpfull course. Thank you so much.Maybe i'll ask a very dumb and rookie question but how can make a composition that looks real printed work like the one you have on the initial vídeo image . Thank you again.
Thanks for sharing all your videos are super helpful! I have a question: When you finally click "print" on the preview panel, does this mean you send it to the printer AND you also get an exported PDF version? What if I'm only interested in getting the PDF and not a physical copy of my booklet? (I work with Command Workstation and I can only send PDFs to print from there)
For those that may have the issue of the PDFWriter for Mac not show up after installation, make sure you add it to your printer options in System Preferences. It will then show up on your InDesign printer options (and elsewere).
Sir I have a question because my said in preview warning the booklet doesn’t fit the current paper size. Click print setting to specify a larger paper size or to scale the booklet to fit.
Silly newbie-guy question here. By exporting it to the printable version in the landscape setting, will this change the size of the page? I mean, if my pages are A4, will now they be fit into one A4, or will be two A4 merged? Also, when I am printing it, how do I make sure the marks and bleeds are not printed?
Video mentions "Download link is in the description... etc" Where? I don't see any download link for folders and files mentioned in the video nor instructions for free pdf printer driver. Any ideas???
Hi there, is there another pdfwriter available in 2020? The PDFWriter didn't work and I guess because it's not updated anymore to BigSur. Is there another workaround to print from indesign in PDF?
Hello , i designed a booklet on indesign , when i click export and want to export it to pdf . When i open the pdf file , it doesnt show the whole page , the page is cutout in the middle and doesnt show it like when you show it in the video , whats with that ? Please any reply would help
Thank you for your channel! ={} I have installed a PDF Printer, but after the file is exported, Acrobat doesn't open the preview and i can't seem to find the booklet file anywhere. Thoughts?
Is that so, that my pagination here look as if in disorder different than in layout in InDesign, but when I assign to real laser print and set printing for double sided I will get the booklet to look with an appropriate paging order? I am not sure now, as I do not have printer of my own.
There are no resolution options, because this is determined by the assets you place in your doc. Quality is determined first in the assets you use in a document. You want to make sure that the assets you place into the doc are maximum quality first. For examples any photos should be 150/300dpi and large enough for maximum quality. When you export you can then choose, low, medium or max. This simply compress the assets inside the doc to make a smaller PDF file size. Hope that helps.
I get the error message "cannot open pdf because file is empty" after following the directions. I paid for the files and installed everything. What can be wrong?
is there any way that i can subdivide pages into 8 for books ? example: i want to print pages like 1 16 - 2 15 , 3 14 - 4 13 , 5 12 - 6 11 , and so on then for the second subgroup i want 17 32 - 18 31 , 19 30 - 20 29 , and so on. hopefully you understand what am i trying to say.
Hey, Gareth. After following your steps for printing to PDF, the document exports to a PDF with a file size of zero bytes, and cannot be opened in Adobe Acrobat. What gives?
Hello, thank you so much for these useful tutorials! That´s really great to have all this information for free! I just downloaded your project folder, but unfortunately I can´t install the PDFwriter on my mac. It´s probably doesn´t work anymore. :( Maybe you know an other resource where I could find a PDFprinter? I didn´t find anything what works on the Internet so far... :(
Hello, I had the same problem in my Mac OS Sierra, I read the comments in this video and Josue Acosta shared a solution that really works. Just read and follow these instructions: sites.saic.edu/servicebureau/wp-content/uploads/sites/20/2016/10/Everything-Saddle-Stitch.pdf You can download the Service Bureau Print Driver from their site (it's free): sites.saic.edu/servicebureau/resources/ You can find the Acrobat DC software in the adobe's website (Unfortunately this is not free, but there's a trial) : www.adobe.com/creativecloud/catalog/desktop.html?promoid=KOVFF That's all. I hope this helps you. Have a good day.
I needed a black ink only export, but even though I exported in Dot Gain 30%, the pdf still shows all the CMYK inks 🤔😣😕 A black ink export video would be so great...

Hey, I'm having the same issue. Did you figure it out?
Nope. Turns out I didn't have to export it as a booklet, as my printer fixed it automatically. What a time to be alive.
Aron Høyer cool, lucky you. thanks anyways
wondering if you have any experience in using Catsy with inDesign?

I don't get an option called PDFwriter. What do I do?
You need to download the plugin, install and reboot the program, only then it will appear.
Why I can't find the pdf file on my computer?
wheeeere do i find my pdf after printing it w pdfwriter lmao???
someone please help. why don't i have pdf printer as my option and only have postscript?
This happens if you're working on a Mac. You can save it as a postript file and then user Adobe Distiller to convert it to PDF
@6:21 you're welcome
Can you put up a link for PDF printer
+Chas You have to pay for it :p
I use the same Acrobat Pro for virtual print. So far it works great.

Hi @Elaine Marais i download my on this link for free : sourceforge.net/projects/pdfwriterformac/files/latest/download
@@BrianLovesPC Very useful, but it seem that the PDF writer doesn't allow custom size. Are you aware of any other 3rd part solutions?
